With vocal assistance from Rich Andruws, NeKo caters to the female audience with "Beyonce". Hiding behind catchy melodies & comical pick up lines, NeKo delivers a message that advocates female ambition, intelligence, & class. And he still manages to represent for H-town, while using none other than Houston's own Beyonce (or at least her characteristics) as the ideal that his future love interests should pursue."Beyonce" is produced by TrakkSounds & Albie Dickson
Apollo 18 EP will be available soon on ThaFixx.com & Itunes. It is produced fully by Trakksounds & Albie Dickson. Apollo 18 EP, NeKo's debut EP, is inspired completely by the city of Houston. It will show the world, "H-Town", but through a less glamorized perspective. The plan is to completely elude the cliche style of Houston rap, while still keeping the culture alive. It is a mission of ambition and a progression to expand the city's horizons, metaphorically & lyrically
Here's a sweet new track from Beyoncé for her HBO documentary Life is But a Dream (available November 25th) — an ode to her daughter Blue Ivy called "God Made You Beautiful". Hard not to appreciate this one. Wonderful sentiment and vocals, of course.
Happy Friday! And I'm starting with something amazing here: the fifth fan in OKC who has drained a $20,000 half-court shot at halftime. And the second just this week, ha! It's a silly thing that the NBA community has picked up as it doesn't get better than this high school teacher Brad Brucker making the shot, and getting some dap from Jay Z.
Oh yeah, Jay Z and Beyonce were in the house... in Oklahoma City, of all places. Why? Probably to see his star client of Roc Nation Sports in Kevin Durant. Or, actually, Charles Barkley's reasoning sounds more correct.
Correct me if I am wrong, but I am pretty sure Jay Z is the first rapper to appear solo on a Vanity Fair cover. Any who, Jay Z gets suited up in white with his black bowtie for the November issue of Vanity Fair. No stranger to the mag, as back in 2007 he appeared on the cover along with Alicia Keys for their special Africa issue. Inside, Jay Z reveals how gangsta Beyoncé has become since being with him, still rapping at 43 years young, and dealing drug back in the day. Jay Z also discusses how Blue Ivy is biggest fan, which is the greatest joy he feels. Check out a few highlights from the interview below.
Jay says that when he and Beyoncé were both featured on the cover of Vanity Fair’s 2001 Music Issue
“We were just beginning to try to date each other.” Try? “Well, you know, you’ve got to try first. You got to dazzle . . . wine and dine.” He tells Robinson that “of course” he pursued Beyoncé, and when asked if he hadn’t been Jay Z—say, he had been a gas-station attendant and she pulled up—would he have been able to date her, he responds, “If I’m as cool as I am, yes. But she’s a charming Southern girl, you know, she’s not impressed. . . . But I would have definitely had to be this cool.” Jay confirms that the line on his latest album, “She was a good girl ’til she knew me” is about Beyoncé, and when Robinson asks if she’s not a good girl anymore, Jay laughs, saying, “Nah. She’s gangsta now.”
Jay admits that, after all these years, he still loves to rap
“I know I said I wouldn’t be doing it when I was 30,” he tells Robinson, “so that’s how I know I love it. Thirty years old was my cutoff, but I’m still here, 43 years old.”
Jay speaks on dealing drugs and contributing to the epidemic
“Crack was everywhere—it was inescapable. There wasn’t any place you could go for isolation or a break. You go in the hallway; [there are] crackheads in the hallway. You look out in the puddles on the curbs—crack vials are littered in the side of the curbs. You could smell it in the hallways, that putrid smell; I can’t explain it, but it’s still in my mind when I think about it.”Jay tells Robinson he sold crack but never used it, and when asked if he ever felt guilty about contributing to what was becoming an epidemic, he says, “Not until later, when I realized the effects on the community. I started looking at the community on the whole, but in the beginning, no. I was thinking about surviving. I was thinking about improving my situation. I was thinking about buying clothes.”
Blue Ivy preferring his music more then Beyoncé’s
“That’s not true. She does like her mother’s music—she watches [Beyoncé’s concerts] on the computer every night. But my album came out and I don’t know if Blue ever heard any of my music prior to this album—she’s only 18 months old and I don’t play my music around the house. But this album was new, so we played it. And she loves all the songs. She plays a song and she goes, ‘More, Daddy, more . . . Daddy song.’ She’s my biggest fan. If no one bought the Magna Carta [album], the fact that she loves it so much, it gives me the greatest joy. And that’s not like a cliché. I’m really serious. Just to see her—‘Daddy song, more, Daddy.’ She’s genuine, she’s honest, because she doesn’t know it makes me happy. She just wants to hear it.”

As you know Sunday night Drake sat down with Elliott Wilson of Rap Radar at NYU’s Skirball Center. The chat was apart of Elliott Wilson’s series of conversations with rap artist CRWN. During the interview said "Pound Cake," his collaboration with Jay Z, presented the opportunity to contribute to Beyoncé’s new album.
“Writing with Beyoncé… She’s got bars!” He stated, even though Beyoncé would be mad him for revealing the info on her upcoming project. He also revealed How Jay Z’s verses for "Pound Cake" came about. Originally Jay Z recorded the two verses you hear on “Pound Cake” for Magna Carta… Holy Grail. Drake heard the verses and loved them so he convinced Jay Z to give him the acapella's for his album, Nothing Was The Same. Wednesday CRWN part 1 of 3 will be aired on MySpace. Nothing Was The Same drops tomorrow so be sure to support it!
Seriously this will never get old! lol
Meanwhile… Still waiting on that album Beyoncé (-_-).
*clears throat and screams* H A P P Y B I R T H D A Y Beyoncé! From the GWHH fam we would like to send you a very special happy birthday and we hope you enjoy every moment of it!
Also quick fun tidbit… For the past 2 weeks myself and three other friends of mine who own a Beyoncé fansite created a special Tumblr page for Beyoncé’s birthday. I want to say we received well over 400 entries from fans to be included on the site, and to say it was a challenge to get them all posted is an understatement. But it was all worth it, because I woke up to a text this morning being told our site has its very own special post on Beyoncé’s website. So I’m super excited all that work paid of because she’s going to see it! But enough of that anyways head over to Billboard to check out Beyoncé’s 30 biggest hits in celebration of her birthday.
News came out today via Gumbumper.com that Jay Z and Beyonce are the new owners of the Chicago Regal Theatre on the cities Southside. The Regal Theatre has been closed since 2003, and was purchased for only $250,000(a.k.a. Beyonce's pocket money). The Regal Theatre hasn't been used since 2008 for the nomination party of President Barack Obama. It hasn't been announced just yet what their plans are for the theatre, but 79th and Avalon can definitely expect some upgrades in their future.
I can't wait to see Jay Z and Beyonce greeting people outside on 79th during a Chicago winter.
The Instagram photos/chatter of Twitter late tonight surrounds hip hop's royal couple. They're not related though, as first, Jay Z is pictured above with former Roc-A-Fella partner Dame Dash as the two attended a mutual friend's birthday party in NYC. The two photos (via Dame himself on IG and Shaheem Reid) show the two as ole chums. It looks like things between the two are calm and bygones are bygones.
You don't remember our handshake?!
The other chatter surrounds ladies everywhere reacting to Beyonce's new look! If you're slow to the social media tonight, we got you covered with a couple of Bey's Instagrams revealing her short hair. It's cool, but long, lioness haired Beyonce will always be my fave.
Queen Bey is curious to know what you think of her new look
Last night Beyoncé wrapped up the 1st leg to her sold out world tour The Mrs. Carter Show at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn and surprise, surprise she brought out Mr. Carter himself, Jay Z. Although it was a given that he was to come out on the last show it was the song that took everyone by surprise. Treating the audience to a special performance of “Bow Down,” Beyoncé took fans by surprise when the beat dropped to Jay Z’s “Tom Ford” and he appeared on stage. Fans were sent into a frenzy roaring with excitement. I swear I would have killed to be at this show! But any who if you didn’t catch Beyoncé this go round no worries! She has extended her tour with more dates that you can check here! Check the Carters below!
