Treated Crew and LOD (Legion of Dudes) member Auggie the 9th isn't your ordinary rapper and #GAWS is not your ordinary Hip-Hop mixtape, which is totally fine. Living in an era where rappers embrace the lavish lifestyles this project takes a step back and embraces the individual, the common man, as well as the inner geek in us all, which is a reason why this is one of 2013's most interesting projects. This isn't your generic project which is a great example of how creative Auggie The 9th is in allowing us to enter his mind and learn more about the simple things in life that he appreciates through his music. The format of the mixtape is very interesting because it encompasses various forms of HipHop in the inclusion of trap, boom bap, as well as electronically and alternatively infused instrumentals with the sampling of Auggie's interests that range from anime, 90's professional-wrestling, 90's cartoons, and video games. The features and production on this project are phenomenal as they include Na$im WIlliams, Nick Astro, Savier from Animuse, Clark Parker among other for production and features Blakkass Westley, ShowYouSuck, Cadillac Duke, among others adding verses to the project. Auggie The 9th's debut project goes beyond Hip-Hop, it's music without a border or restrictions, which is more of a reason to give it a listen.

I had ShowYouSuck and Auggie The 9th swing by to Radio DePaul at DePaul University for a fun conversation around their music and we definitely had a phenomenal time. The two most important segments on the show were the "Product of The Go" and "Spectacular Vernacular". In "Product of The Go", a segment inspired by Retrospect's "Can I" we quizzed the guys on their knowledge of Chicago by reciting artist verses and asking the guys whether or not the lyrics belonged to a Chicago emcee. Spectacular Vernacular, a segment inspired by theWhoevers, was a segment where we had the guys freestyle using submitted words to display their uncanny ability to reinforce strong vocabulary words within their verses.
The show was phenomenal from various perspectives. For one, we got to give both ShowYouSuck and Auggie The 9th a platform to expose their music but also used this medium as a way to create conversation around the importance of their music to the Chicago landscape. The second important thing about this encounter was that it was hilarious. We exposed both the guys to a website called therapboard.com , which has the most infamous ad-libs in Hip-Hop history, which they in turn used throughout the duration of the show.
ShowYouSuck releases DudeBro on November 26th. Auggie The 9th releases GAWS in December. Before the release of both projects they will be having a show on the 21st of November, which you should all go and support as they'd be playing a majority of their upcoming projects at their upcoming venue. Hope you enjoy the audio of the show as well as the pictures and vines collected throughout the duration of the show.

The 4th Annual- Kimball House Rock is a gathering of numerous Chicago upstarts and one DJ all performing under one roof and it's free!
2 new tracks from Chicago's Auggie The 9th, which is accompanied by an extremely dope alternate cover for his upcoming GAWS project. The cover is an homage to Madvillian's 2004 album, Madvillainy, and was shot by Stefan Klapko.
The tracks both have allusions to anime and cartoons respectively. "Shonen Punks" is my preferred of the two and features Franky4Fingerz, while "Nega Snot" has a Doug nod throughout in the bg. Both are worth checkin' out and I'm lookin' forward to how they fit in the context of the project. Turn up the volume to get the full experience.
On a mission to get kids poppin' other thangs than molly, Auggie The 9th presents the most official unofficial FlosstrAugust mixtape ever - "NOW That's What I Call KREJ!" The short but sweet mixtape features familiar bangers from Flosstradamus, DJ Sliink, Baauer, & Madrid.
In anticipation of the new heat ShowYouSuck plans on dropping June 1, his homie & hype man Auggie The 9th put together an essential mix. Note the ultra dope album artwork featuring Tommy the Green Ranger leanin' hard in the Iron Throne (Power Rangers X Game of Thrones). Salute.
