Alicia Keys is everywhere, and that's never a bad thing, as she promotes her new album, Girl On Fire. Earlier today it was The View, and to cap off the night: Letterman. She not only performs "Brand New Me", but also sits down with Dave for an interview. Watch it all above in case you missed it.
EDIT #2: Above is the full performance from Kanye West, who had Twitter trending with this set - performing his hit songs like "Gold Digger", "Good Life", and "Stronger" to, not his usual crowd at Madison Square Garden primarily there to see Bruce Springsteen or Paul McCartney, all the while wearing a leather black kilt. What did you think of the performance?
Bonus: Alicia Keys also performed and her set can be seen below. More info and to donate, visit 121212Concert.org.
The numbers are now in and Alicia Keys comes out on top. Alicia’s fifth studio album Girl On Fire opens this week at #1 on Billboard 200 with 161k units sold. Even though these aren’t typical first week sales for Keys that hasn’t stopped her from her enormous promotional campaign supporting the album. The way Alicia is keeping the momentum going for this album she shouldn’t have any worries with keeping the sale consistent in the weeks to come.
In some not so great news Rihanna’s album Unapologetic has experience a 70% decrease in sales (ouch) with 72k sold. On the bright side at least she can say she has a #1 album now even though it took 7 to achieve this.
A big congratulation is in order for Alicia Keys who’s been working so hard over the past few months promoting her hew album, Girl On Fire. HDD is reporting that Keys will in fact have secure the number 1 spot next week on Billboard 200 with sales between 150k to 175k units. Although this is a major decrease in sales compared to Keys last album The Element Of Freedom, which sold 417k its first week its still good considering its an R&B album. If you haven’t already make sure you go out and support Girl On Fire, which is in stores today!
I'm back at it with my Top 5 Songs of The Week. This week is was pretty easy for me for some reason, I listened to all the songs and these 5 jumped out at me right away. So that being said lets get to the list.
I know I don't put these in any type of order but this song is my number one song of the week, and I might add it to next week's list just because it's that damn cold. Alicia and Maxwell are two of the most amazing singers of our generations and them together just furthered that belief for me.
The Boy Illinois is getting ready to release his next project 'The Memiors Of Gilbert Gaston' and he has two dope single leading up to that release in early December.
Big Boi did it again. So far from the songs that have dropped from Big Boi he has taken full advantage of the features he has. T.I. and Ludacris killed this, the beat is hard as hell, Big Boi did his things as usual, and he even added a thought provoking sample at the end. 'Vicious Lies and Dangerous Rumors' is going to NICE.
T.I. is a two time winner this week. It's hard to see any song with Andre 3000 on it not being in the top songs of the week, and I am not going to test that theory. T.I. spit a solid verse and 3k did something that he doesn't often do by letting us into his personal life when mentioning the apologizes to his mother, Big Boi, and "Baby Mother".
The Dream to me is real hit or miss. I really liked his first album but hated his second. This song reminds me of the music from his first album so I'm hoping this album will continue down this path and be a hit overall.
So that's this weeks list from me hope you all enjoy. Always feel free to comment with your thoughts and opinions. Til next week, two fingers to the side(that's peace to you don't get it).
