Gowhere Hip Hop (GWHH) is the #1 tastemaker platform for the hip hop culture. We bring visitors the latest in mainstream and underground hip hop and R&B in addition to a spotlight on the local Chicago hip hop scene. The website is updated daily with the latest news, free downloads, music videos, and more. Users now have the ability to upload their own content, which removes the 'gatekeeper' aspect and opens up the conversation for anyone to get their voice and talents heard — letting Hip Hop gowhere it wants to go organically — driven by the people, for the people!
In addition to the music, GWHH is an established media platform that provides visitors with a perspective of the Chicago scene through exclusive event coverage and interviews with the biggest names in music. GWHH covers hip hop, but also the vast hip hop culture that includes tastemaker spotlights on art, design, sports, fashion, and more. Maks G
Co-Founder/CEO
Maks G is one of the co-founders/CEOs of Gowhere Hip Hop alongside Sgt. Tibs. Maks specializes in GWHH’s brand management and development and oversees the company's various departments. In 2009, Maks founded Gowhere Hip Hop’s sister clothing line company: Limited G. He earned a Bachelor's Degree in Fine Arts at the School of Art Institute in Chicago in spring 2010.

Co-Founder/CEO
Tim "Sgt. Tibs" Hanrahan is one of the co-founders/CEOs of Gowhere Hip Hop. For the company, Tibs does a little bit of everything from overseeing the departments and team to creating and managing content, and more in between. Together with Maks G, these longtime friends from elementary school started Gowhere Hip Hop in September of 2007 and developed the online platform and multimedia company we see today. Tibs graduated in the fall of 2009 at the University of Minnesota with a Bachelor's Degree in Architecture and a minor in Environmental Design.

Heather Michaels
PR/Marketing Coordinator
Heather Michaels is a promotions/PR contributor for Gowhere Hip Hop, handling e-mails daily about securing show/interview coverage and helping to organize the team in being aware of event details. She graduated with a degree in Marketing at DePaul University.

Kuda
Senior Content Manager
Kevin “Kuda” Goddard is one of the Senior Content Managers for Gowhere Hip Hop. Kuda creates and approves new content to go live on the site and also specializes in writing about a mix of mainstream and underground hip hop.

Ant
Senior Content Manager
Anthony “Ant” Carrillo is one of the Senior Content Managers, who along with Kuda, spearheads the flow and approval of content to GWHH. He has also interviewed many local Chicago artists and built relationships with artists and industry profesionals around the country. Ant also founded YNotMyDream.net in 2009, a Chicago hip hop website he merged into GWHH in 2011.

Love Ra
Events Coordinator
Love Ra is the Events Department Coordinator for Gowhere Hip Hop as she manages an events team to set up, promote, and execute GWHH-presented events in Chicago. Her experience managing both artists (currently: dead prez’s DJ, mike flo) and a recording studio (Classick Studios).
Jessica Nowak
Video/Photo Coordinator
Jessica Nowak is a graduate of DePaul University’s film department and is a no non-sense hardworker with proficient skills in filming, animating, and editing. She edits many of the performance and interview videos for Gowhere TV.

J. Pak
Design/Illustration Coordinator
Jeff Pak is a graduate of the School of Art Institute in Chicago with a developed skill and expertise in illustration and design. His unique drawings make for innovative GWHH branding and can be found on the website and in the office through hand-drawn murals on our columns.

Grant “GY312” Yanney is a correspondent for Gowhere Hip Hop who has interviewed artists such as Lupe Fiasco, RZA, Big Boi, B.o.B, Big Sean, A Tribe Called Quest, Kendrick Lamar, and many more. He is also a writer for the Chicago Tribune's RedEye and former TV producer at Fox 32 Chicago.

Jen DeLeon

Jen DeLeon is a correspondent for Gowhere Hip Hop and has interviewed a wide array of athletes and artists from Dwyane Wade, Derrick Rose, and Scottie Pippen to Keri Hilson, Pusha T, Perez Hilton, and more. She has also developed her skills through previous intern experience with NBC and the Chicago Bulls.

Stan Perry is a freelance videographer and photographer who has filmed concerts and interviews for Gowhere Hip Hop including Method Man and the Smokers Club Tour, Nike Basketball’s #BasketballNeverStops, and more.

Cam Be is a freelance filmographer whose transcendent ‘Camovement’ series has captured concerts and interviews for Gowhere Hip Hop. They include documentary style pieces with Dr. Maya Angelou & Common, The Roots, De La Soul, B.o.B, Big Sean, and more.

Samantha Lebbos
Correspondent/Receptionist
Samantha Lebbos is a correspondent for Gowhere Hip Hop, interviewing a mix of mainstream artists and local talent. Her interviews include Gym Class Heroes, Honey Cocaine, and even athletes like Donovan McNabb and Larry Fitzgerald. At the office, Samantha acts as a receptionist and is responsible for greeting guests and artists, giving them the tour, and introducing them to the team. She is also currently interning at Chicago's KISS FM and a student at Bradley University majoring in journalism.

Tina Powell (Tina P) is a correspondent for Gowhere Hip Hop as well as an actress and host. When you don’t see her on the stage, at events, or in commercials, you can see her interviewing the likes of Lloyd Banks, Jeremih, and Tito Lopez.

Jeff Baraka is a freelance media personality and producer, interviewing the likes of Dr. Maya Angelou, Common, The Roots, Talib Kweli, Slum Village, and more for Gowhere Hip Hop. He has worked for other esteemed companies such as NBC 5 Chicago and Okayplayer.

Drea Oppan
Correspondent
Drea Oppan is a correspondent for Gowhere Hip Hop, interviewing a wide array of artists from Lil Jon to MC Hammer, to J. Cole, Talib Kweli, and media personality Sway. She is also a traffic producer at Chicago radio station WGCI and co-hosts a weekly radio show through Vocalo.org's Windy City Underground.

Palita has conducted interviews with the likes of Tank and Sir Michael Rocks for Gowhere Hip Hop. She is multi-talented in classical music, science, and is currently finishing graduate school at Northwestern University.

Aja, aka A-J-A, is a host and correspondent who has done freelance interviews for Gowhere Hip Hop, while also currently working at BET in Chicago. She specializes in red- carpet interviews and has talked with the likes of Dwyane Wade, Melanie Fiona, Tyrese, and more!

Julian is one half of the B96 FM morning show with J. Niice and conducts interviews for Gowhere Hip Hop. He has talked with superstar celebrities such as Justin Bieber, Kim Kardashian, and interviewed B.o.B, Stalley, Jenny McCarthy, and more for GWHH.

J Niice is one half of B96 FM’s Morning Show with Julian and has interviewed a variety of big-name celebs for radio and GWHH. He also interviews for Nike and specializes in red-carpet interviews and news-style documentary pieces.

Marcus Shadden
DJ
Marcus Shadden is one of the hottest DJs in Chicago and can frequently be found at Lasalle Power Company, Ohm, Teaze, Tantrik, Empire, and Citizen amongst other gigs he is booked in nationwide. He’s also the official DJ for parties held by Gowhere Hip Hop as such locations, and contributes monthly original mixes for the website.

DJ
DJ Averi Minor, a.k.a. Mr. Mixshow, is a DJ in Chicago, playing gigs across the country and producing mixes for the likes of Shade45. In addition, he contributes these mixes and spotlights rare DJ remixes of classic hip hop tracks in a recurring segment on the site called '#TreatsByAveri'.

Mark is a one of the three partners of GWHH's sister clothing line Limited G, alongside founder Maks G, and Michael Zhong. Mark handles the web developments of Limited G, as he also earned a degree in computer engineering at the University of Illinois.

Michael is the third partner of Limited G and manages the business developments of the company. He also graduated at the University of Illinois with a degree in business.

Tristan “Tee” Onfroy is the Gowhere NY brand manager who spearheads a team of writers, videographers, and correspondents in New York City. His versatility ranges from conducting his own interviews to writing spotlights on new NYC artists to managing the whole team. The Gowhere NY branch has been developing their own brand while extending the brand of GWHH through their coverage and interviews on the vast New York City scene.

Gowhere NY - Assistant Brand Manager
MiniMaxx is the assistant brand manager of Gowhere NY and a DJ who spins multiple gigs and makes music independently in New York City. In addition to his DJing, MiniMaxX also interviews and blogs on upcoming local artists of the area.

PlacDos is a correspondent for Gowhere NY who has interviewed up and comers of Kris Kasanova, STS, The Doppelgangaz, and even Chicago artist The Boy Illinois when he was in NYC.

JB Early conducts interviews for Gowhere NY and has talked with media personality Peter Rosenberg and more of NYC's up and coming emcees.

Chas Guy is a correspondent/tastemaker based in the DMV area. He is a student at the University of Maryland and has interviewed Theophilus London and numerous local artists of the area. He has single-handedly brought a physical presence for GWHH in D.C.!

Terrence Jones is a freelance videographer, editor, and aspiring filmmaker. He has directed numerous music videos (including multiple with GLC) and is beginning to film event coverage and interviews in L.A. after recently moving from Chicago.

Teddy Waffles

Teddy Waffles is a freelance videographer and photographer who covers concerts and films interviews for Gowhere Hip Hop. He works with a lot of local artists, filming studio sessions, concerts, and even various sporting events.
K-Max

Kevin “K-Max” Maxey is a veteran in the Chicago hip hop scene as he hosts a weekly radio show on Chicago University radio WHPK 88.5 FM. He is a videographer and photographer who covers big-name concerts and local shows alike for Gowhere Hip Hop. His industry roots began in street-team PR for national record labels and artists, getting the word out on concerts/album releases via physical flyers/posters in key Chicago locations.

Josh Free is a videographer who has filmed concerts and interviews for Gowhere Hip Hop at SXSW and in local events in the Chicago scene. He usually teams with Cam Be in not only filming, but making music as well, as they form the duo 'Be Free'.

Eugene is one of our newest additions to the video department as his independent brand Invisual Media Pro films and edits concerts and interviews for GWHH. Most recently, he edited videos from SXSW and filmed and edited coverage from Pitchfork.

Boris Ran is a graduate of the School of Art Institute of Chicago, and works in the Gowhere Hip Hop Art Department. His unique animated headers can be found on the website, and his illustrations can been seen on GWHH branded collateral, print, stickers, and occasional product design. He recently moved back to Dallas, and communicates GWHH work via email.

Allie Lyke is a tastemaker with a wide range of musical tastes in mainstream and underground hip hop and R&B. She is one of our more outspoken tastemakers, always telling it like it is.

Matt "Big Nickel" Delashment is a student at DePaul University and has a focus on gritty, mainstream and local Chicago hip hop.

Sko is our youngest member of #TeamGowhere, entering his senior year of high school this fall in Chicago. His favorite artist is Curren$y and he specializes on mainstream and Chicago rap, while also dabbling into R&B.

Rip is a tastemaker for Gowhere Hip Hop, and represents a talented crew out of Chicago - F.A. The Squad, led by The Boy Illinois. He has a great grasp on the Chicago hip hop scene also through his work with Columbia College's student-run record label, AEMMP Records.

Pedro Gonzalez is a young tastemaker (senior in HS) who has an excellent grasp on the up and coming talent in Chicago. He has been blogging for GWHH and ChicagoNow from Mexico City during the past year and now resides back in Chicago.

John B. Bassmaji is the manager of Miller St. Studios - a recording studio in Chicago. It’s a great place for local artists to come record and get their music mastered. He writes for Gowhere Hip Hop on artists that he exclusively works with at Miller St., even posting new music or videos of the recording process at the studio.

FaSho focuses on cutting-edge, underground hip hop artists - both locally in Chicago and other big U.S. cities - as a tastemaker at GWHH. Her new artist spotlights showcase her unique taste across the sub-genres of hip hop. FaSho is also one of the founders of fashodoemusic.com.

JPoos is one of our EDM tastemakers and show reviewers. Alongside Shape, the two go to festivals and shows in the midwest every week and have developed an expertise on the live EDM scene. JPoos specializes in in-depth previews and reviews of EDM shows.

Shape is the other half of our EDM team. In addition to covering the shows with JPoos, Shape also specializes in spotlighting artists in the EDM scene through posts on rare live performance videos or a favorite song or music video of the artist.

John Govia specializes in spotlights on DJ mixes of hip hop and pop tracks. He has worked in the radio industry all of his career, including with Chicago's 103.5 Kiss FM.
