He just walked off the podium at McCormick Place in Chicago, Illinois the president re-elect, and above you can watch President Obama's stirring acceptance speech in case you just missed it, or simply want to re-live it again.
The acceptance speech seems like quite the task to deliever just mere hours after being announced the President. Especially in an election this close, there is a sense of a divided country. It is important then for Obama to look to unite the country, and he communicated just that during the speech. I was especially impressed with how Obama stressed a bipartisan United States, while also expressing humble thanks and gratitude to the people, his opponents, while now, looking ahead.
“We are not as divided as our politics suggests. We are not as cynical as the pundits believe. We are not red states or blue states, we are the United States of America."
- President Barack Obama
So no matter who you voted for, let's unify and act to make this country stronger! It starts with us as citizens, and as Obama says, our roles don't stop with voting. We can affect change starting locally and by setting a shining example amongst our peers in our day-to-day experiences. We are all about togetherness and unity here at Gowhere and we are all one. Let's rise as one!
