Free Nation Rebel Soldier, Mick Jenkins, releases his latest video "Lack" which is featured in Jenkin's mixtape Trees & Truths that was released eralier this year. Mick Jenkins sets out to create timeless music and achieves this in the release of this video. The video itself seems to be something that was taken out of the Golden Age of cinema as it is partially black and white giving it an older look to the visual. The production by OnGaud also adds to this timeless theme and gives the video much of its character.
Mick Jenkins in the video plays a street preacher as he is dressed in all black and is "spitting consciousness" in the streets. The track's title "Lack" refers to becoming aware and not "snoozing" on the issues occuring around us. Jenkins through the introduction of this video and his mixtape has become one of the most promising emcees to come out the city of Chicago gaining the respect of his peers and garnering nation-wide attention as a result of it. Jenkins is definitely an upcoming artist you shouldn't "Lack" on.
Jenkins has also been preparing for his next project titled Waters which will be featuring a track with both Vic Mensa and Chance the Rapper. Believe the hype if you already havent, "don't lack". Waters is expected to be dropping real soon, as stated by Jenkins on his twitter page.
