Crazy update for ya’ll, leading off with Chrisette Michele’s latest video for “Love Is You”! Everything I hear from Chrisette has a great vibe to it and I enjoy her voice a lot as well. She’s definitely an artist on the rise (and I’m upset I missed her at the House of Blues last week in Chicago, haha.) so be on the lookout for more from Chrisette Michele (click her tag!). Down below is a flurry of freestyles, perhaps the most interesting being from NBA baller Ron Artest over Kanye West’s “Flashing Lights” (certainly more interesting than the one-thousandth “A Millie” Freestyle… altho CB puts a nice R&B flavor on it). Anyway, Artest succeeds in name-dropping some famous athletes and people in general, but also shows he has some skills on the mic. It exceeded my expectations since I’ve heard his previous work was pretty bad. Def an interesting DL for NBA and hip hop fans alike. Enjoy!
Here’s a quick update for ur Sunday morning. The original R. Les/Cassie collabo of “Addiction” has been stuck in my head all week after hearing it again on DJ B-Bop’s Gotta Stay Fresh Mixtape and I love the RMX even better since I’m a hip hop and Fabolous fan first. LoSo’s (Fabolous, “in case you ain’t kno so”, haha!) versatility definitely adds a nice look 2 the RMX. I think that if the song is marketed well, it has the commercial appeal to become a big radio hit! Down below are a couple more NEW Beyoncé trax… the subject matter is hard for me 2 relate 2, but I have a good feeling the ladies will love it! DL above and below! Enjoy!
11:27 - Wow, I forgot 2 add Usher’s LIVE SNL Performances from last nite, so peep them below as well! Pretty sweet, esp Ush’s dance solo @ the end of “Love In This Club”!
1. Kanye West
2. Jay-Z
3. Lil’ Wayne
4. Rick Ross
5. Snoop Dogg
6. 50 Cent
7. Lupe Fiasco
8. Young Jeezy
9. Andre 3000
10. T.I.
No surprise 2 me as Kanye West was named MTV’s #1 Hottest MC of 2008 after the success of Graduation catapulted the Chicago MC into super-duperstardom. Haha. Kanye’s on another planet right now and very deserving of the #1 spot IMHO. Not 2 many beefs w/ the list IMO as well, although I think I’d switch T.I. and Dre 3000 and 50 and Lupe. Yes, I’m biased on Lupe but his star is quickly on the rise whereas Curtis’ is quickly on the fall. Still I can see the argument as 50 and Snoop Dogg still have more commercial appeal than Lupe at this point. Oh yeah, Rick Ross #4?!?! I hear they’ll be re-airing the special on MTV 2nite (debuted yesterday) so check ur local listings if ur interested. Below you can find a couple nice R&B trax by 2 of the most talented females of the genre - Mrs. Tibs Jay-Z & Jennifer Hudson. (I usually don’t go 2 pics in a post but I think u can forgive me on this 1 :D) The trax are really nice listens tho and you shouldn’t hesitate to DL the slower R&B jams below! Enjoy!
I haven’t posted much since the completion of the new design, but now that skoolz out 4 summer I’ve got some sunny things to share. Check the Exclusive Gowhere Hip Hop Mixtape I put together below w/ complimentary cover art/back art that I did. There’s everything you need to make a physical copy. Share it with your friends. It’s a lot of good things compiled to make an excellent physical CD. 100% gwhere. H.A.G.S.

“NEW JEEZY AND YEEZY!!! WHO’S YEEZY??? THAT’S MEEZY!!! PUT ON!” - Kanye West
Haha! That’s Kanye’s title of his most recent post on his blog, promoting the latest track featuring him and Young Jeezy! Kanye goes T-Pain with the Auto-Tune on his verse over a nice dirty south beat. I can see this blowing up so be sure 2 DL it and blast it for your friends. Oh, and while you’re at Ye’s blog - check out his beef with Entertainment Weekly, a wildly passionate and entertaining comeback at the EW review of the Glow In The Dark Tour. Also be sure 2 DL a couple NEW trax below that I really like - Swizz Beatz gettin’ it hyped with a sick, hard beat and a bonus track from R&B crooner Taio Cruz that is a nice 1 2 chill 2. (haha @ the numbers, I just wanted 2 see what that looked like…) Oh yeh.. J. Holiday request as well! Enjoy!
Producer: Cool & Dre & Mike Shinoda - FULL, CDQ, Track from upcoming album, Blessed*Tibs Fav.
That’s right - TWO featured trax for ya that deserve the spotlight. As promised, T.I. drops a brand new track 2day that will be on his upcoming album Paper Trail that he should be releasing later this year. He’s been hard at work recording while at house arrest and in light of all the legal troubles, the song above reflects those hardships and T.I. slows down the flow and pours out some emotion on the track. I’m really feelin’ this one - don’t expect a banger, just expect the emergence of a new T.I., forever changed after his weapons charges last fall. Also above, is the highly-anticipated full version of the Busta Rhymes/Linkin Park collaboration called “We Made It”. You knew I was going 2 flip for the full version after the amazing snippets I posted earlier and yeah, I am now happy and content 2 have the full version ready 2 go for you guys! They already shot the video for the track so expect 2 see more of “We Made It” on MTV, BET, and throughout radio stations across the nation in the coming future. Finally 2 round out the new trax below, check out a NEW, HOT RMX of Cassie’s biggest hit “Me & U” with R&B crooner, Casely. Videos galore as well as we got 3 video premieres for u 2 peep as well as performances from The Roots who were LIVE on Letterman promoting their new album Rising Down out in stores 2day! Also be sure 2 support Estelle if you’re in the States as her album Shine should be in major stores across the country 2day as well! Enjoy!
The above live performance is simply a must-see. Lupe straight up rips it word for word on my favorite track from Lupe Fiasco’s The Cool and Nikki Jean provides the nice, soulful chorus. Their energy really gets the crowd going and you can tell as the song progresses 2 the very end. I had 2 watch that another time myself, haha. A few notes on the NEW trax below… really feelin’ the Taio Cruz/Estelle RMX and “War Is Necessary”, which I’m re-posting with the CDQ version. The “Flashing Lights” track is the Glow In The Dark Version, which is not live, but CDQ and features a slight, yet interesting take on the track, that I’m sure sounds 10x better if that is used when he performs it in his show. Finally, the Jay-Z track is an interesting one as he fired back at DeShawn Stevenson in support of his boy LeBron James - in fact, it is one of the strangest, most entertaining feuds (LeBron & DeShawn) that I can remember. There’s a link 2 the full story below the track that is a must-read if you’re interested in the details. Enjoy!
Producer: Polow Da Don - FULL, CDQ, HOT ATL RMX! *Tibs Fav.
Above is the HOT RMX f/ the fast flowing T.I. 2 Usher’s latest hit “Love In This Club”. Combined with the video, the RMX is gettin me hooked on the song (bout time right?) and it’s def a must-DL! Aite, I’m out for the nite cuz I didnt sleep with all this work I had… not much else 2 say - some cool updates. Ya’ll should DL them or watch them. I’ll be back and more coherent early Wednesday afternoon… with requests Enjoy!
A bunch of cool vids and trax for 2day, including the video for Usher’s latest MEGA-HIT “Love In This Club” f/ Young Jeezy and a bunch of cameos in the video, including the incredibly sexy Keri Hilson as the lead female. (2 my boys back home who don’t think she’s gorgeous… I rest my case.) Definitely a must-see for Usher fans as his next album, Here I Stand is currently slated 2 open up the summer in a big way on May 27th! Some NEW trax below, might be able 2 get some smaller trax up later in the next couple days, but as stated in the shoutbox, I’m goin 2 be mad busy btwn now and late Tuesday night. So this might be last update til then and then I’ll get up a lot of trax, including ALL the requests. Don’t wry, I see ya. Just one more note before I’m out - that NEW One Chance/”J. Lack track mayne” is retarded (in a good way)! MUST-DL for sure (and that’s Usher in the intro btw!) Enjoy!
Crazy day full of travel and extreme sickness but it’s all good now as I’m back home watchin my Bulls cruise 2 a much-needed W, haha. (Wait, scratch that, Bulls are now blowing an 18 point lead in the 4th… ugh! UPDATE: Bulls successfully completed the crapfest and lost 110-106.. funny how things changed so quickly.) Anyway, here’s some of 2day’s NEW trax and videos including a cool RMX of a growing T.I. single “Hurt”, the latest, NEW single from Rihanna that will be on the re-release of Good Girl Gone Bad, and more NEW trax f/ Talib Kweli, Musiq SoulChild & Estelle, & Ryan Leslie! There is also a video PREMIERE of the latest from the Teriyaki Boyz f/ Pharrell & Busta Rhymes below!
A couple Lupe tidbits… “Superstar” f/ Matthew Santos has climbed 2 #10 on the Billboard Hot 100! #10?! The promotion has been really stellar for the single as Lupe has performed it everywhere on national tv and went with a big-budget for the video. With the perfectly-timed drop of the RMX f/ popular southern rappers Young Jeezy & T.I., I would assume the RMX and the original will be pushed even more heavily on the radio stations everywhere across the country and I could see “Superstar” climbing even higher! That would be even more gross. Finally, catch Carson Daly 2nite as Lupe Fiasco will again be performing, potentially the “canned” performance of “Hip-Hop Saved My Life” f/ Nikki Jean?! Video will be up ASAP! Stay tuned!
