GWHH Weekly Recap: 11.15 – 11.21

Sgt. Tibs posted November 22, 2011

*TIBS FAV.™ OF THE WEEK:

Last week was a toss-up between QuESt & Neak for the feature spot in the Weekly Recap, but naturally this week, QuESt wasn’t havin’ that (hah) and released another *TIBS FAV.™ in as many weeks with “The Blur” deserving of the feature this week (and a Lupe Fiasco co-sign). If this Miami emcee is not on your radar yet, then I urge you to start above and proceed to last week’s recap to grab “Still Alive (Where I Have To Go)”, another dope collab with Mt.Eden.

The big names follow below with another winner off The Dreamer, The Believer from Common, Young Jeezy‘s mega-collab with Jay-Z & Andre 3000, T.I.‘s new single, and a bevy of new music videos as well from DJ Premier & Nas, The Roots, Jeezy again, and much more. In addition, meet #TeamGowhere and check out our new office in case you missed the fun and entertaining video and photo we put up this past week. This was a busy week that you shouldn’t fall behind on so peruse at your convenience above, after the jump, and in between below.

GWHH Weekly Recap: 11.08 – 11.14

*TIBS FAV.™ OF THE WEEK:
Neak “Watch Me Now” (prod. Slot-A & Rashid Hadee) [dir. Cam Be]

Here we are with a brand new Weekly Recap for the second week of November, starting on the 8th and including all the content up until the other day on the 14th. To kick things off, Neak earns the feature with his new video for “Watch Me Now”. You should do just that as he links up with Slot-A & Rashid Hadee, plus director Cam Be, for an eerie visual to a dark, thought-provoking record. This one reps Chicago hip hop well and you’d be remiss as a hip hop fan from anywhere if you skipped this one above.

In as closest of a second as you can get for the feature above, QuESt‘s all-caps *TIBS FAV.™ “Still Alive (Where I Have To Go)” is a track that I’ll be bumpin’ for a long time – a chilling record about suicide that you should definitely download below. Other big-names in the new downloads, mixtapes, and music videos department include Common‘s new video for “Sweet”, The Roots, Rihanna & Jay-Z, R. Kelly and much more. Plus, hit the jump for two of our rawest new videos for Gowhere TV: interviews with B.o.B & Ace Hood! A lot to watch and listen to above and below so don’t sleep.

*TIBS FAV.™ OF THE WEEK:

Alas, I have time to make the Weekly Recap for the week that was starting on November 1st and inclusive through this past Monday, November 8th. As you can see, a familiar face earns the features spot as Common and his latest The Dreamer, The Believer track “Sweet” is indeed just that and continues to get my hype up for the album at a high compared to any other project that’s on the way this year.

The first week of November was also a busy one for new mixtapes and music videos. Below, find links to the best of the tapes and a handful of big-name and up and coming artists in their newest moving visuals. And in between? A handful of notable downloads. Plus! Our exclusive interview with Boyz II Men from GowhereNY. Go crazy folks and make sure you take a look at everything above and below so you don’t miss anything!

GWHH Weekly Recap: Halloween 10.31

Features 19 NEW Tracks! (More info here!)

Features 16 NEW Tracks! (More info here!)

It’s a double feature of Weekly Recaps tonight as Halloween doubled this year as the festive holiday we all know and love aaaaannnd one of the busiest days in hip hop in recent history. So much happened that this day deserves its own recap (and so much happened on November 1st that I wasn’t able to make this post until tonight, hah!). So without further adieu, we give the nod to the hometown again as the L.E.P. Bogus Boys and Freddie Gibbs share the top spot with their new mixtapes, Now Or Neva and Cold Day In Hell respectively. And they weren’t the only mixtapes to drop yesterday; hit the list of links below to catch full-lengths that you may have missed, along with a small batch of downloads and music videos below (most notably the Kid Cudi “Maniac” short film and Childish Gambino‘s “Bonfire”)! Hope you had a Happy Halloween… and oh yeah, check out our Halloween costumes here at GWHH below as well, hah!

GWHH Weekly Recap: 10.24 – 10.30

Sgt. Tibs posted November 2, 2011

*TIBS FAV.™ OF THE WEEK:

Concluding the month of October is another installment of the Weekly Recap as the last week pre-Halloween is led by a unique track that doesn’t always take the top spot: a remix of a classic with a new-age sound and spin on it: Common‘s “Communism” as remixed by pak.one (0.5 of 2pak). Maks G posted it and I got to add that I especially love the mix of the new sounds with the introspective lyrics from Com Sense. It’s well worthy of the feature this week with other big-name tracks and music videos featuring the likes of Drake, The Roots, Yelawolf & Kid Rock, and much more below. My favorite video to see after the jump? Common‘s “Blue Sky” of course!

GWHH Weekly Recap: 10.17 – 10.23

Sgt. Tibs posted October 24, 2011

*TIBS FAV.™ OF THE WEEK:

Hmm, I wonder who’s going to take the spot in this week’s Weekly Recap?! It’s Lupe Fiasco with his fresh new tune “LightWork” off the once again much anticipated upcoming mixtape, Friend Of The People. This has grown to become a legit all-caps *TIBS FAV.™, and at that, an all-caps *GWHQ FAV.™ as “LightWork” has been played at nausea here at the offices by Maks G and I. With Lu’s usual thought-provoking lyrics driving alongside a fresh mix of uptempo sounds and styles, “LightWork” is a sure hit to even the casual listener so don’t miss out on it above.

Moving on, it was a big week of news revealed here on Gowhere with the exciting merger of YNotMyDream.net over to GWHH as you can see with the addition of more posts from Ant! Find out more about that below along with our new movement ‘The Present’ and the usual batch of downloads and videos that you shouldn’t sleep on. Enjoy!

GWHH Weekly Recap: 10.03 – 10.08

Sgt. Tibs posted October 9, 2011

*TIBS FAV.™ OF THE WEEK:

No surprise here. Common takes the lead on this week’s Weekly Recap as “Blue Sky” has been not only my most listened to new single from the past week, but really, as far as I can remember in a one month, two month scope. There are elements of motivation, thought-provoking lyrics, and a wide array of emotions throughout the brilliantly crafted record from Common and No I.D.. And there’s no way to say for sure, but I really feel “Blue Sky” encapsulates some of the concepts, and the title itself, that Common has described about his upcoming album, The Dreamer, The Believer. Anywho, be sure to download that above if you haven’t already and check out a flurry of more big-name downloads below on top of a series of new music videos as well after the jump. Honorable mention goes to Kids These Days for that “Clear Eyes” video that could have easily taken the top spot any other week.
