Strong Arm Steady has worked with Talib Kweli in the past so if you’re familiar with the name, that’s prolly why. (Love the Arrested Development mention, great show :D). First off, congrats 2 S-Preme for winning our first contest up above! Definitely worth checkin’ out cuz the young Chicago rapper kills the Mr. Music beat! As for 2day’s update, Bullet came thru with an album sampler, which is a sweet concept of 30 second snippets of every track from the album, which will be released July 29th!!! It all sounds good, with the snippet at around 4:50 sounding real promising! Down below, a bunch of hip hop for ya ears featuring Naledge from Kidz In The Hall with a sick freestyle, even dropping Utah Jazz coach, Jerry Sloan, haha. Also below are a couple unreleased trax from Talib Kweli, the Sean Bell Tribute featuring various rappers, the latest single featuring T-Pain as he collaborates with Yung Berg, & a sweet Usher snippet as well! WEEKEND UPDATE for ya’ll.. sorry about the delay on the NEW music, but I was working and out of town all day Saturday and until now on Sunday, but I’m back for good. Quite honestly, none of the trax in this update hit me as incredible on first few listens, but nonetheless, there are some quality trax 2 be had, starting with the unreleased Usher track above! The beat can be hit or miss, some will dig it, some will find it annoying, but the one constant as usual is Usher’s vocals! That’s a track that will grow on me, but it will be remained 2 be seen what direction that may be - positive or negative.. Down below, a bunch of hip hop and R&B, including the U.K. bonus track from Untitled by Nas, which of course is on point lyrically, but overall weaker than the trax already posted on GWHH. I’m also feelin’ the Swizzy beat on Styles P’s new track, and a few of the R&B trax by Trey Songz (is that really him tho?) & Francisco, namely. TON of hip hop for ya’ll 2day, comin’ heavy from the Chi-City with the latest from the Go Getters (Kanye West, GLC, Really Doe, with Arrowstar). I’m feelin’ this track a lil’ more than the other 2 that have been released (big ups again 2 FSD!) and it’s still weird/cool 2 hear Kanye pre-accident! U should DL just 2 compare those changes… and check out some of the rest of the Chicago flava with Rhymefest, GLC, & the breakout track from Mikkey Halsted, produced by Kanye West! And ya’ll HAVE 2 DL the NEW Nas track, “Black President”, a conscious track based freshly off the recent event of Barack Obama winning the democratic presidential candidacy! DJ Green Lantern chops it up smoothly with snippets from Obama’s speech and the famous 2Pac line from “Changes” / “I Wonder If Heaven Got A Ghetto” - “We ain’t ready 2 have a black pres-i-dent.”. Sick. And definitely check out some real solid trax from Blu of Blu & Exile, and Styles P and his trio The LOX! Enjoy!

Another example of good hip hop. Joe B. also brings it on his latest track (over a Swizz Beatz instrumental) and the other track I’m feelin’ is by Konvict Muzik’s up and coming R&B singer Colby O’Donis. Above is an alternate mix of one of the sick Roots tracks that was leaked a few weeks ago (click that Roots tag!) and I think I actually like this one better overall. It’s hard 2 say, but the songs do sound similar. It is def worth downloading the latest from The Roots tho and u can hear for yourself. Below are some more hip hop tracks and a video featuring Consequence for u 2 view while u wait for the downloads, haha. Twista hasn’t lost a step in his feature on the AZ track, def check out the latest from the Chicago rapper! Finally, all the T.I. fans will definitely want to read a candid interview with T.I. that was his first interview since his sentencing, where he discusses everything from family, business (a possible collabo with Amy Winehouse.. interesting), his experiences with the law, house arrest, and MORE!
