More footage of Kanye on network TV, this one with my favorite late-nite comedian - Conan! He performs “Heartless”, which I am really enjoying seeing LIVE because of the emotion involved in the song itself, and sits down for a 10 minute interview that has a lot of laughs. Damn, that live performance tho, wow. Gotta love the drums in the background. MUST-SEE for the Kanye fans. You also have 2 read the Kanye West Q&A with Fader, which explains more about the ideas behind the man, Kanye West. Here’s some snippets below:
Did you have an epiphany about singing on the new album?
I never even thought about it like that, I just thought about what I wanted to hear when I was making music, just like hook after hook after hook after hook after hook. It’s the musical version of an Obama speech.
What do you think about “Swagger Like Us,” along with MIA’s “Paper Planes,” and “Love Lockdown” all hitting people together?
Such a great time. It’s like, Why does that happen? I’m like a vessel, and God has chosen me to be the voice and the connector. I can’t be responsible. I’m good, but I’m not that good. So my job is just to be in the studio and do videos, and I just stand here and let God do the rest…
Down below, some really nice trax 2 DL, starting off w/ the NO DJ version of the B.o.B. / T.I.P. collaboration, “I’m Dat Nigga” that I like a lot. Akon’s upcoming album, Freedom, will hit stores December 2nd and below is a track from the album’s leak today that is a NEW version of “Could You Be The Reason” and is also a track that I enjoy. Brandy really shines on her own with “True” and Musiq Soulchild comes thru with some real solid trax that might make his next album, OnMyRadio! You can also DL the latest mixtape from slept on Atlanta rapper, Stat Quo! Enjoy!
FULL, CDQ, CLEAN, 1st Single off upcoming album, Padded Room*Tibs Fav.™
Quick weekend update for ya ears w/ a bunch a NEW trax, starting off w/ the sick collaboration between Joe Budden & The Game. In addition to their clear, on point verses, you get a captivating hook and a ridiculous, unique beat. I’ma be bumpin’ this more and at high volume in the very near future. Down below, predominantly R&B altho you got some hip hop featuring Busta Rhymes, Stat Quo, & Young Jeezy. There’s a ton more unreleased Ne-Yo trax that are all solid, but nothin’ special compared to some of his instant classics on his albums. Don’t forget 2 check out the latest episode of ConsTV in light of the release of 808’s & Heartbreak this Monday! Enjoy!
And I apologize for not bein’ up on the updates as fast as usual, but this weekend is a really busy one and it’ll all be made up 2 u with our biggest EXCLUSIVE interview yet, coming sometime on Sunday! Stay tuned.
***No time 2 make a new post… added 2 NEW trax by Chris Brown & Lloyd! Scroll. (4:20PM CT)
Startin’ off this hip hop update with a lil’ message from GemStones that summarizes the change that has enveloped the artist in the past couple years. I definitely admire his admission to his past and his willingness to move forward and spread positive messages. He says ‘09 is his year so I’d expect some major mixtapes and Troubles Of The World very soon! Down below, some solid hip hop featuring Lil’ Wayne, Twista’s sick verse on the lil’ Swagga Like Us remake, and from Chicago’s Mikkey Halsted & GLC! Definitely some MUST-see videos including the latest episode of ConsTV and the “Crash Dummie” video premiere, that could be unofficial, yet is a great look for up and coming FNFers He Say, She Say! (Shouts 2 Sean). Enjoy!
FULL, DJ, CLEAN, Track off upcoming album, Theater Of The Mind *Tibs Fav.™
Whoo, 18 track update for ya ears here, starting off w/ the much anticipated collabo between 3 of 2day’s biggest rap stars: “I Did It For Hip Hop” by Ludacris f/ Jay-Z & Nas! And this one blew me away. Luda comes thru with a catchy hook over a raw hip hop beat and I’m especially feelin’ Nas’ verse. Definitely one that every hip hop fan should DL! Down below, an interesting original version of Common’s “Be”, a hot beat on the DJ Felli Fel track, the nice extended version of “Propane” f/ T.I., some more various hip hop and R&B trax-n-vids! Enjoy!
Producer: Darkchild - FULL, CDQ, Clean,Rumored track off upcoming album, Human *Tibs Fav.™
Slow Sunday and I got a Brandy/Game RMX up for ya that is actually real solid. This track by Brandy is growin’ on me and The Game adds to it nicely at the beginning with a long clever verse. I’m also feelin’ the Darkchild beat, as usual w/ his production, and it’s def a song that R&B and hip hop fans would both enjoy. Down below, a few solid trax featuring up and comers like Stat Quo, B.o.B., Dontae, & a requested Nikki Jean slow jam, haha. Enjoy!
***GWHH would like 2 wish a HAPPY BIRTHDAY 2 Jabbify co-creator and the man most responsible for the Wordpress layout u see here - Brian! Thx for all your help bro. Show him some love by chatting more in Jabbify!
Here’s our NEW music update encompassing late Thursday night and Friday morning. (My apologies… travelling from Minny 2 Chicago took 12 hrs and then I jetted 2 the Lupe concert @ the Congress w/ the GWHH crew… more details above). Regardless, I’d figure I’d kick it off with a video premiere (and cuz I’m 2 fatigued 2 find a pic for an artist w/ a track below, haha) by Keyshia Cole f/ 2Pac! However, it peeves me that this track was actually on Pac’s Life - the 2006 album by 2Pac and is now considered new to many others as it looks to be the 1st single off of Keyshia Cole’s upcoming 3rd album. Eh, at the same time, it is a beautiful track that I liked a lot a couple years ago and the more people who hear that nice message, the better. Down below, a buncha trax f/ a T-Pain / Kanye collabo, Chamillionaire, Talib Kweli, The Dream, & MORE! And finally, check out a few more videos featuring Common talkin’ politics, the latest Lil’ Wayne video premiere, along w/ video premieres from Saigon and Pharoahe Monch, and a couple live performances by T.I. & Kidz In The Hall! Enjoy!
Tunji & Co. dropped us an e-mail w/ a real nice “Green Light” RMX that I had 2 share for ya’ll. The song keeps growing on me and hearing some of the RMXs out there definitely keep that goin’ for me. This is one u should peep at as well. Down below a few trax and videos and also a bonus video (thx 2 OneBlu in Jabbify) of Chi Bulls rookie, Derrick Rose and his 30 pts, 7 assist nite in a preseason game last nite. He also led a 4th quarter comeback for the win and straight up looked like the best player on the court. Yes, it’s preseason, but the 20 year old rookie is already showing the physical and mental makeup 2 be an absolute star in the L. I’ll be up at the Target Center in a few hours 2 get my first, LIVE look @ D-Rose & Co. and if ur an avid follower of GWHH, u know I’m psyched! Back late nite. Enjoy!
Producer: Kendrick “WyldCard” Dean - FULL, CDQ, Rumored track off upcoming album, READY*Tibs Fav.™
Here comes a brand NEW, original track from Trey Songz - a sure-fire R&B hit with a captivating beat from Kendrick “WyldCard” Dean (B. Cox’s protegé, I believe)! The lyrics illustrate a nice story, not about a relationship, rather about real-life issues with lines like, “For every father that walks out / there’s a daddy that loves his child” and “Fine young man / off to war / don’t understand what he fighting for / yet he reports / obeys his call of duty and fights for his countraayyy”. Damn, this is a song I’ve had on repeat ever since I DLed it and like Usher’s “Hush” (also added the artwork @ the very bottom) from earlier in the week, it is a meaningful R&B song that not only R&B fans will certainly enjoy, but also the casual listener. MUST-DL above! Down below, a batch of loose ends are tied up with solid trax featuring Saigon, Casely, Jagged Edge, Leona Lewis, & MORE as well as a couple videos featuring Kanye West & Craig David! Enjoy!
***UPDATE: Our buddies over @ OG Hip Hop came thru with a collection of more extensive thoughts and coverage of Kanye West’s listening party. CLICK HERE!
Above is another passionate, live performance from the superstar Kanye West! Just before the 2:30 mark and the end chorus are the two highlights of the performance… with the lowlight the constant screen time of the same teary-eyed girl.. ugh. Anyway, the performance was a sweet one which came after Kanye hosted the first listening party for 808’s & Heartbreak. The listening party featured forty nude girls, hahaha, and of course the first exposure of the entire album to a select audience. The web has started discussing it here and here and truthfully, I’m warming up to the direction of Kanye’s 808’s & Heartbreak, even though it looks like he’ll be doing more singing than rapping. Time will tell. Below, check out a bunch of NEW trax and video premieres featuring a nice one from The Cool Kids, Busta Rhymes, Talib Kweli, Trey Songz brilliantly covering another hit w/ Ryan Leslie’s “Addiction” being the culprit this time, Brandy, Chris Brown, Keri Hilson, & MORE! Enjoy!
