FULL, CDQ, Rumored track from upcoming album, No Man *Tibs Fav.™
The feature track above is from an underappreciated R&B star - Joe, who is definitely well known but should shine brighter because of his talented voice. The song above displays that over a new-age R&B beat that we’re all used 2 by now. The lyrics have some nice metaphors that make the song a unique one that R&B fans will think is fresh. Definitely a track 2 add 2 ur R&B collection, as well as the Sterling Simms (and StarGate produced) track below called “Eyes”. And Robin Thicke kills the chorus of the Eve track below, which is set to an ominous beat that isn’t typical of R&B. Also below, check out the latest from The Game, which is an interesting song that might grow on me featuring Travis Barker and the latest from G-Unit as “You So Tough” is the track that 50 Cent disses T.I. on in the 3rd verse.
2 follow up on the Shaq dissing Kobe freestyle, the hilarious news story of the day is that a sheriff wants Shaq 2 return his badges with the reason being Shaq’s foul language in this remarkable huge (and overblown) freestyle, dissing Kobe Bryant, as well as NBA legends Patrick Ewing and Kareem Abdul-Jabaar. Finally, there are a few videos below including the premiere of Jennifer Hudson’s first single “Spotlight” and live performances from Diddy’s crews of Day26 & Danity Kane! Enjoy!
Producer: Bangladesh - Another “A Milli RMX” (2:31)
A boatload of NEW trax 2day, with the feature track actually being an incomplete one, haha. The latest track (supposedly) from the upcoming album, Year Of The Gentleman - in stores August 5th, has been released in snippet form. It’s produced by StarGate. Some of you may already be familiar with this equation.. Ne-Yo + StarGate = Awesome. And this one sounds like no exception with Ne-Yo dropping some pretty nice lyrics so far on the high quality (not CDQ) snippet. I’ll be excited when that full version leaks and it’ll be up on GWHH when it does! Ne-Yo is also the 79,139,322nd artist 2 jump on “A Milli” so I figure I’d post that… not really feelin’ it honestly, haha. Below is a bunch of R&B and hip hop as I’m mainly liking the R&B, especially the latest trax from Colby O’Donis, Francisco, and Timbaland’s brother Sebastian (NOT the R&B Sebastian, the Sebastian on the extended version of “The Way I Are”). DL above & below! Enjoy!
FULL, CDQ, Rumored track from upcoming album, Sketches Of A Man *Tibs Fav.
The feature track for 2day is the RMX 2 Dwele’s first single “I’m Cheatin’” featuring fellow Detroit artist, Slum Village! It’s a unique R&B track with Dwele singin’ about cheatin’ on a girl, not with another girl, but cuz the girl is different, while Slum Village adds a nice flavor 2 the RMX. Not sure if the track will be included on the album, but the original sure will and its due out in stores on June 24th! Down below, a couple trax from some hip hop heavyweights - a short freestyle over “A Millie” (what else is new?) but this time by Jay-Z and a new release from G-Unit produced by Swizz Beatz. Also down below, don’t sleep on a HOT R&B slow jam track by virtual unknown - Nathan. He should be grateful for that ridiculous StarGate beat, which is attractive 2 ur ears on first listen. And finally, the video premiere of Estelle’s latest single - “No Substitute Love”, a nice video with some old school elements telling the story of the song! Enjoy!
Producer: StarGate - FULL, CDQ, Track off upcoming album, Here I Stand, in stores May 27th!*Tibs Fav.
Here I Stand leaked out 2day and above are a couple trax that have interested me since seeing the official tracklist due 2 prolly my 2 favorite producers on the boards - Danja & StarGate! Both songs do NOT disappoint and if the rest of the album contains a quality mix of the uptempo beats and slow jams like this, then Usher has another surefire hit album 2 add 2 his long list of achievements. Usher displays what many consider the best voice in R&B in “What A Man’s To Do” while also singing and telling a great story through his lyrics over a nice beat similar 2 other StarGate produced songs - Chris Brown “With You” & Ne-Yo “Go On Girl”. Prolly my favorite of the 2 if I had 2 choose and will definitely be one of my favs of the album, once I hear the whole thing next Tuesday (gotta wait… :D) Below, u can check out a few more NEW trax, most notably the well-timed Nas drop of “N.I.G.G.E.R. (The Slave & The Master)”, in light of the news that he will be changing his album’s controversial title from Nigger 2 a yet 2 be determined name. Enjoy!
Oh yeah, almost forgot… make sure 2 cop The Cool Kids - The Bake SaleEP album on iTunes! Just purchased my copy there since I believe it is only being released digitally… lemme kno if u see it in stores!
1. Kanye West
2. Jay-Z
3. Lil’ Wayne
4. Rick Ross
5. Snoop Dogg
6. 50 Cent
7. Lupe Fiasco
8. Young Jeezy
9. Andre 3000
10. T.I.
No surprise 2 me as Kanye West was named MTV’s #1 Hottest MC of 2008 after the success of Graduation catapulted the Chicago MC into super-duperstardom. Haha. Kanye’s on another planet right now and very deserving of the #1 spot IMHO. Not 2 many beefs w/ the list IMO as well, although I think I’d switch T.I. and Dre 3000 and 50 and Lupe. Yes, I’m biased on Lupe but his star is quickly on the rise whereas Curtis’ is quickly on the fall. Still I can see the argument as 50 and Snoop Dogg still have more commercial appeal than Lupe at this point. Oh yeah, Rick Ross #4?!?! I hear they’ll be re-airing the special on MTV 2nite (debuted yesterday) so check ur local listings if ur interested. Below you can find a couple nice R&B trax by 2 of the most talented females of the genre - Mrs. Tibs Jay-Z & Jennifer Hudson. (I usually don’t go 2 pics in a post but I think u can forgive me on this 1 :D) The trax are really nice listens tho and you shouldn’t hesitate to DL the slower R&B jams below! Enjoy!
A lil’ late on 2days update and I would have made Kidz In The Hall on top for the 3rd post in a row, but I decided 2 spread the love 2 R&B singer Jay Sean for his new jam called “Murder” f/ Thara. It’s got a unique fast and smooth tempo with an addicting chorus, which is a good combination for a hot banger. DL that above and the mix of hip hop and R&B below featuring the aforementioned Kidz In The Hall (again) but this time with the talented U.K. singer Estelle. Also the latest from Donnie Klang, a StarGate produced track by up and comer Atozzio, and a repetitive track by DJ Khaled and like 10 of his friends with Akon on the hook. I guess it’s ok, but nothin’ will top “We Takin’ Over” and Khaled is just going 2 get real stale real quick. Just my 2 cents. Enjoy!
Here’s a quick update for your early Friday (for me it’s early, haha!) The latest from One Chance is up above and another hot track from the boys from the Go. If you’re wondering about when One Chance will release an album after all these tracks have dropped, well, I heard in an interview that they’re looking for a fall release, but as always with album releases, expect that 2 be pushed back even more. Haha, so we’ll have 2 just keep waiting. U can also check out a nice StarGate produced track below by LaShawn Daniels and a few videos - a cool promo video for Lupe Fiasco and part 2 of his interview with Sway, an inside look at Kanye West, and a video premiere by the French electronic artist Justice, who is scheduled to RMX Lupe Fiasco’s The Cool! Hopefully I’ll be back later in the day… Enjoy!
A ton of NEW trax in 2day’s update, but the feature track is a type of track that you are likely familiar with already - a Mash-Up! I personally LOVE Mash-Ups, but most of them are not that good. The one above is an exception as the Casely vocals on his hit single “Emotional” is combined with Ne-Yo’s hook and StarGate’s beat on the soon-2-be hit single “Closer”. It offers listeners a NEW take on both songs and I personally like it a lot. DL above and judge for yourself. Below, you can find the various NEW R&B and hip hop, but the Ghostface Killah “Charlie Brown RMXs” warrant some mentioning. It’s a series of 4 trax that was sent 2 a select few of us 2 share by 4 different DJs remixing the song by the Wu Tang Clan member. I sincerely enjoy all 4 as they all have a completely different sound from one another and you should check those out as well. I also put up the “Flashing Lights RMX” f/ R. Kelly that was requested, but I could not locate one without all the DJ shoutouts. Still a good track tho if u are a fan of either. Enjoy!
Above is the official? RMX 2 Lupe Fiasco’s next hit single, “Paris, Tokyo” featuring the legendary C.L. Smooth! I say “official?” because I hear it is just a Mick Boggie Mix and that’s why I was hesitant to post it when I saw it a little bit earlier in the week I think. Either way, I figure I would share it as this week has finally cooled off for me a lil. Haha, anyway, there’s some more Tibs Favs below by Immortal Technique & 2Pac, Kidz In The Hall f/ The Cool Kids & more and a sweet Ne-Yo feature - all of which you guys should DL and give a try. Below them, you can find the latest video premiere for Rihanna and a sick freestyle by ‘Quence, Nelly, & Murphy Lee (where’s he been at the past few yrs?) I’ll be back early Sunday for Old School Sundays and looking forward 2 a good week in music, with hopefully the full version of the Busta Rhymes/Linkin Park track, a NEW T.I. track, and albums from The Roots & Estelle (out here in the States.) For now, enjoy!
Producer: StarGate - FULL, CDQ, 1st Single off upcoming album, Year Of The Gentleman*Tibs Fav.
“Closer” is just way 2 good of a song for you guys NOT 2 have the FULL, CDQ version. (We posted a DJ tagged version when it first leaked but the CDQ leaked 2day!) It could be the first single from his new album that is scheduled for sometime in 2008 and I would support that choice for sure. No word on the producer yet, but it does sound like a StarGate track. We’ll see… be sure 2 check out the Francisco track below as well b/c it is also another hot one w/ a sick beat AND the Colby O’Donis-Akon VIDEO PREMIERE! Enjoy!
