It’s a real hot, Jim Jonsin produced beat that is inspired by the classic from A Flock Of Seagulls’ “I Ran”! For the younger generation like myself, that likable song was the title track for Grand Theft Auto: Vice City and is instantly recognizable with Slim Thug’s clear southern style overlaying the similar chorus. Chamillionaire always kills a slow beat… always. This proves no exception as his deep lyrics catch u on 1st listen, even for me at this late of an hour. Trae & Slim Thug are outshined by Chamillionaire, who is def one of my favorite rappers in the game 2day and one who is still slept on in the industry. MM4 is droppin’ 08.27 and it’s automatically an awesome day in hip hop. Like all the Mixtape Messiah mixtapes, MM4 is going 2 be sick b/c of trax like these (and if u click the Chamillionaire tag, u’ll see more..) and it is certainly a date I’m eagerly anticipating. I especially like T.I. on the hook of his feature, but the song as a whole might not have a strong lasting appeal. Still worth the DLs if ur fans of both of them tho. Ironically, I just put in Trey Day again yesterday, gettin’ psyched for Sunday when I am likely going 2 see Trey Songz in concert since he’s rollin thru Minneapolis! “The Last Time” was one of the songs I threw on repeat again, haha. I really like the video as well - tells a great story, along w/ the lyrics and just wow @ the 2 girls, haha! Not sure it can blow up as huge as “Can’t Help But Wait”, but it should still get a lot of exposure from the momentum of CHBW’s success!
