Kanye West on The View, haha! He came thru Barbara Walters & Co.’s ABC daytime hit and the hosts did a great job of talking about a ton of topics in about 10 minutes. Kanye gives his feedback on Kris Allen’s “Heartless” rendition, announces his co-headlining tour with Lady Gaga, and talks about his book Thank You And You’re Welcome among other things. Peep the short freestyle near the 7 minute mark as well.
Down below, I’m likin’ what I’m hearin’ from Chicago producer J. Slikk has his upcoming Escapism EP has a great-sounding 1st single from Cy Yung called “Catcher In Cy”. Lookin’ forward to the full version, which will undoubtedly hit GWHH in the near future. Other notable cuts include Roc Nation signee J. Cole’s version of the Mobb Deep classic “Shook Ones” and the Lloyd, Jim-Jonsin produced R&B record that definitely has some longevity in my rotation. Finally, check out SNRadio’s Stretch 1 in Jay Rock’s VIMBY segment. Enjoy!

The 16-year old propaYne is back again, hookin’ up with the homie S-Preme over Drake’s “Best I Ever Had”. The way propaYne is goin’ NOW, just wow.. he’s got some potential. That first verse is on point lyrically and really enhanced by his flow. It grabs your attention right away with his strongest bars comin’ right off the bat. But then his 2nd verse is just as clever with a little more swag, concluding with a shout to S-Preme who comes in on the 3rd verse with his usual swag and double meanings that you needa play again to catch (my favorite bein’ the “soda pop” one..). That’s definitely a MUST-DL track in a post that’s not filled w/ very many. There’s a lot of solid tracks but none of them are really complete. For example, the Sweedish MC, Emilio comes through with another nice one again but it’s really only his raps that stand out on an otherwise lengthy cut that doesn’t have a great hook or superb beat. Chamillionaire shines in spots on his two cuts below, as does the Biggie tributes, but other than that, nothin’ more than mediocre tracks that can be DLed below. If you’re big fans of the artists, you’ll prolly dig them but if you’re unfamiliar with the many names in the post, start off w/ the propaYne/S-Preme collabo and you’ll be set. Enjoy!
Whoo, big update here, starting off with FNF’s Sarah Green and her new track called “Me Time”. Sarah doesn’t want the track downloadable so we all have to settle for the imeem player above (sry, I couldn’t get that to be centered), but it is a beautiful track with Sarah pouring out her emotion and displaying her singing talent in the process. I can particularly relate to the message of the song so this track really hit me personally. Lookin’ forward 2 a downloadable version soon and a full-length album from Sarah Green in 2009! Down below, Mikkey Halsted reps Chicago with his next single off his upcoming album - a track called “Karma” produced by No I.D. It is another good hip hop track that all hip hop fans should enjoy. Shouts 2 our affiliates KayCee & Andrew respectively. Further below is a batch of hip hop and R&B trax, with the most notable being Stat Quo’s latest track called “Deliver Me”. Another nice track with a positive message. Then, video-wise, we got a nice Kid Cudi interview, Soulja Boy talkin’ some smack on Nas, and more Mikkey Halsted & No I.D. Enjoy!
WEEKEND UPDATE for ya’ll.. sorry about the delay on the NEW music, but I was working and out of town all day Saturday and until now on Sunday, but I’m back for good. Quite honestly, none of the trax in this update hit me as incredible on first few listens, but nonetheless, there are some quality trax 2 be had, starting with the unreleased Usher track above! The beat can be hit or miss, some will dig it, some will find it annoying, but the one constant as usual is Usher’s vocals! That’s a track that will grow on me, but it will be remained 2 be seen what direction that may be - positive or negative.. Down below, a bunch of hip hop and R&B, including the U.K. bonus track from Untitled by Nas, which of course is on point lyrically, but overall weaker than the trax already posted on GWHH. I’m also feelin’ the Swizzy beat on Styles P’s new track, and a few of the R&B trax by Trey Songz (is that really him tho?) & Francisco, namely. Peep it all below, along with the video premiere of LL Cool J’s latest single, “Baby” f/ The Dream! Enjoy!
