FULL, DJ, CLEAN, Track off upcoming album, Theater Of The Mind *Tibs Fav.™
Whoo, 18 track update for ya ears here, starting off w/ the much anticipated collabo between 3 of 2day’s biggest rap stars: “I Did It For Hip Hop” by Ludacris f/ Jay-Z & Nas! And this one blew me away. Luda comes thru with a catchy hook over a raw hip hop beat and I’m especially feelin’ Nas’ verse. Definitely one that every hip hop fan should DL! Down below, an interesting original version of Common’s “Be”, a hot beat on the DJ Felli Fel track, the nice extended version of “Propane” f/ T.I., some more various hip hop and R&B trax-n-vids! Enjoy!
**UPDATE**(7:47PM CT): It looks like this is the official cover for 808’s & Heartbreak according 2 Amazon. What do you think? Vote in the poll below and check out all the NEW Trax-N-Vids!
FULL, LQ, Limited DJ, Track off upcoming album, 808’s & Heartbreak *Tibs Fav.™
FINALLY back.. and with a TON of goodies for ya eyes and ears, starting with NEW Kanye West from 808’s & Heartbreak! “Coldest Winter” was released earlier, but this is the HQ (supposedly CDQ) version of the track that is also supposedly dedicated 2 his late mother. I can def see that and I think parts of it can def be applied 2 a relationship also. I’m really diggin’ “Coldest Winter” a lot; the beat is ridiculous and inspired by some 80s music and Kanye passionately sings some beautiful lyrics. I’m still on the fence about the album’s direction, but it appeals 2 me because I love the topics he’s covering and I don’t mind the autotune that much and feel that Kanye uses it real well 2 the point that it’s not really annoying. We’ll see about the entire album, however. I’ll reserve judgment on “Robocop” because it does sound like a LQ version, but I can say that it didn’t strike me like “Heartless” and “Coldest Winter” did at first. Both of the latter trax really stand out 2 me and will be on repeat for months 2 come (just like LA’s “The Journey” produced by Mr. Music that u should definitely grab if u haven’t already!). As for the rest of the update, NEW trax from John Legend, Ludacris featuring co-stars like Lil’ Wayne, Common, and even Spike Lee, a couple real nice Q-Tip trax, and some other solid efforts from hip hop and R&B artists that u can peep below. Also be sure 2 check out the latest video premieres featuring Estelle, Bobby Valentino, and Keri Hilson among others. Enjoy!

So above is the supposed, mastered version of “Love Lockdown” that surfaced thanks to BOBO. While it is slightly more cleaner than the previous version, I am skeptical that we haven’t yet heard the FINAL version. The chorus jumped out at me as the first noticeable difference, but after listening to both versions right after another, I think the difference is very very slight. Thoughts? (Warrants mentioning that I’m currently on average laptop speakers… someone with a boomin’ stereo notice any difference?)
A mastered, cleaner version of “S.L.U. (Swagga Like Us)” also surfaced and I can definitely tell the difference there as the track just pops out and is really boomin’ moreso than the original version as well. T.I. still outshines all 3… and I don’t even think it’s close, but u can vote in another poll below! A few more trax as well, with a nice RMX of the hit “Dangerous” with Twista absolutely killin’ it and some nice trax by LL Cool J & Crooked I. Enjoy!
Wow, all day I was expecting the CDQ version of “Love Lockdown” but it didn’t surface on iTunes or anywhere. I’m optimistic it’ll be out 2morrow (Tuesday) as Tuesdays are usually new release day anyway. So we’ll see, but in the meantime, there’s plenty of music in this post 2 keep ya busy, starting w/ a couple hot NEW trax from The Cool Kids. “Dreamin’” stands out especially b/c it’s a fresh beat, even for the hip hop duo who always come w/ a unique sound, but also b/c of the lyrics. They come thru w/ a story, especially on the masterful 2nd verse, and I love songs that do that (Lupe’s “Hip Hop Saved My Life” is my all-time favorite storytelling song). Add a captivating sample for a hook that matches the song’s beat and content perfectly and it equals a song that I’ll be playin’ on my iTunes for some time 2 come. Big ups 2 The Morning Tilt & Trolley Stop Entertainment!
There’s another big update below as trax from big names like Ne-Yo, Estelle, & Mrs. Carter can be had as well as a bunch of R&B. Good 2 see Casely w/ a 2nd straight track w/ a well-known producer (Danja the other one), but I’m not totally feelin’ it just yet. There’s also some vids 2 peep including the latest from Cons, Lupe’s very limited air time @ the MTV VMAs last nite, and a lil’ interview w/ Young Jeezy! Enjoy!
The Lupe vault is opened once again, courtesy of former producer Prolyfic and Andrew, and this is yet another track featuring Lupe & GemStones back from ‘01 or ‘02. The track is alrite; like many of the old, unreleased tracks from Lupe, it contains moments of clever lyrics and Lu’s high-quality flow throughout, but it is nothing special. These tracks are illustrating the growth of Lupe Fiasco and GemStones as artists - for instance, throw on “Go Baby” after hearing this track and u’ll see just how much these 2 have stepped up their game since. Down below, some hip hop and R&B featuring some big names like Mos Def, T-Pain, Flo Rida, Chris Brown, & Trey Songz! I’m really feelin’ Casely on the hook of the Pitbull track as well as Songz showin’ why he already has one of the best voices in R&B on “Love Song (Different For The Other)”! Also peep the Dem Franchize Boyz / Lloyd video premiere! Enjoy!
So we got an interesting track sent over 2 us 2day, that if others got it, they prolly skipped over, but I was initially attracted because Brandon Lloyd (B. Lloyd) is a WR I’ve followed since his days at the University of Illinois and now he plays for my hometown Bears. Turns out B. Lloyd is an aspiring rapper, and he showcases some nice flow on his 1st single w/ respected R&B singer, Bobby Valentino on the hook! I always find tracks by athletes very interesting, doubling as a big sports fan, and while most of them are below average, I think I might be bumpin’ this B. Lloyd / Bobby Valentino track well into the near future! Check out more info on B. Lloyd and the track below and check him out on MySpace HERE:
It is not often that a person has the opportunity to have, and fulfill, 2 separate and distinct career dreams but Brandon Lloyd aka B. Lloyd (if ya nasty) may just be one of them. Now a Wide Receiver for the Chicago Bears, Brandon Lloyd, who knew he wanted to be in the NFL since kindergarten, was a 4th round draft pick to the San Francisco 49ers back in 2003 and also played for the Washington Redskins before finding his home in Chicago. Living out a career as a pro athlete might have been enough for most but Brandon’s musical alter ego, who fell in love with Hip Hop after hearing Will Smith and DJ Jazzy Jeff’s Nightmare on My Street, also wanted to make music of his own.
A phone call to his agent by Still Hustlin’ Records owner and fellow artist and long-time friend, Renegade Foxxx gave B. Lloyd the label home, and the shot, he was looking for. With a first single that features the old school crooning of Bobby Valentino called “She All Mine” that is making all the right moves at radio (Corpus Christi, Lexington, Shreveport, Jackson, Baton Rouge, Gainsville, Tulsa, Biloxi, Augusta et al), it seems that Brandon has every chance of pulling off a career with his 2nd love. She All Mine is B. Lloyd’s musical reflection back on the dating escapades of he and his wife and he wrote it while the two were vacationing together.
“She All Mine is about a man who feels that his relationship with his lady is about more than the lovemaking.” he shares. “I knew Bobby Valentino’s voice would be a perfect fit for the song and he blessed me by being willing to grace the song of an up-and-coming artist. Not everyone is willing to do that.”
What drives this young man to not only pursue with equal fervor 2 very challenging career paths, but to offer himself up to the derision that often accompanies sports figures who try to break into music? The youngest of 7 children, Brandon Lloyd gives all of the credit for his incredible drive to his parents.
“I knew I wanted to be in the NFL when I was in kindergarten.” Brandon remembers. “I once got sent to the principle’s office for saying I wanted to be a professional football player in class when the teacher asked us all what we wanted to be when we grew up. The teacher said it was an ‘unrealistic goal.’ My Mom and Dad had always told me I could do anything I wanted. Just give it 100% and I can attain it.”
From where Brandon Lloyd is sitting right now, it looks like they might just be right.
There’s also some trax below 2 DL featuring a bunch of big names like Lil’ Wayne, Ne-Yo, Busta Rhymes, & much MORE! The theme of the trax below is that many of them have great beats, by big name producers nonetheless, yet for whatever reason, I’m not really into the track. It’s lacking that something special I suppose, but that doesn’t mean some of these won’t grow on me. Check ‘em out below and enjoy (Shouts 2 Urban Music for some of the exclusives!)
Producer: Kanye West - FULL, CDQ, Unreleased *Tibs Fav.™
Sry for the late update 2day but it was a travel day for me and I was on the road all day. Regardless, better late than never, starting w/ another unreleased track from Andrew by Lupe Fiasco called “The Birds And The Bees”! Sweet lyrics of course and a Kanye West beat that is certainly reminiscent of his beats of old. Keeping it short and sweet, many cool updates below including NEW RMXs from CHI-Town’s Yung Berg & Ben One, as well as Kardinal Offishall. Finally, a couple video premieres for 2 great songs - The Game’s “My Life” f/ Lil’ Wayne & Gym Class Heroes’ “Cookie Jar” f/ The Dream and some video interviews w/ T.I. & Redman! Enjoy!
