Whoo, this is a crazy track! Kanye comes thru and raps TWO verses over this unique, electronica beat. His flow and delivery may not be liked by some, but I’m feelin’ his feature here as it actually reminds me of his feature on Pharrell’s “Number One” from a couple years back. While I’m not feelin’ the tacky reference 2 T-Pain & Lil’ Wayne’s “Can’t Believe It”, ‘Ye has some real clever name-drops and references elsewhere, starting with 2 obscure NBA references that NBA junkies like myself would catch and appreciate.
In the first verse, he shouts out his hometown Bulls player, John Paxson, referring to this:
“I want to hit it way way out like John Paxson, but for now I just gotta watch ya practice”
“You know what’s some crazy things? Some girls make ya wait longer than A.C. Green. Passion of the christ, 33 year old virgin. That’s disrespectful. Baby don’t encourage him..”
Those made me smile, haha. It’s a sweet track that I’m really feelin’ and you guys should DL above! Below, check out the requested “Say You Will RMX” f/ Drake and a large batch of videos featuring a touching Sean Taylor tribute, Lupe Fiasco interviewing Common (MUST-WATCH), a funny spoof of autotune that I appreciate from B.o.B., and more featuring artists like Akon, Nelly, Keyshia Cole, & MORE! Enjoy!
OOH, almost forgot.. Grammy nominations were released yesterday! Big ups 2 the usual cast of characters grabbin’ some noms, most notably our main man Lupe Fiasco snatchin’ 4 nominations (I fully expect him to win 1 of those.. at least!) and Trey Songz who registered his first career Grammy nomination for his masterful “Can’t Help But Wait”, which is a song that I would put on a CD of 20 trax or less of my favorite songs ever!
Producer: Kanye West - FULL, CDQ, Track off upcoming mixtape, Mixtape Messiah 5*Tibs Fav.™
Shouts 2 Nancy B. for the heads-up on the latest RMX from Chamillionaire that will be appearing on his upcoming mixtape in his elite series, Mixtape Messiah 5, that will be available November 23rd! And this isn’t just a 1-2 minute freestyle; Chamillionaire spits for a full 4+ minutes like he usually does on his covers/RMXs and has some pretty strong statements throughout. Just peep one of my favorite lyrics from the track below:
“The industry ain’t somethin’ that I feel is fair / Don’t care if you well rounded, they just feel the squares / So I don’t care unless it’s by the million shares / Standin’ on the million lookin’ up like it’s a billion, where?/ And I am so sincere / I’m the baddest rapper here / Let’s just get this clear: / And I wish a major would kick me out my deal / Cuz I’d be the richest independent you should fear!”
- Chamillionaire “Swagga Like Us RMX”
Damn. Chamillionaire once again proves his lyrical talent and shows his versatility on “Swagga Like Us” as well as throughout his previous installments of the Mixtape Messiah series! There’s no reason NOT 2 believe the same is comin’ in just less than a couple weeks for Mixtape Messiah 5! Down below, a few more trax featuring a solid mainstream-appealing collabo from Raheem DeVaughn & T-Pain that might grow on me, a catchy Will.I.Am track, and a nice Joe / The Game snippet (that I swear I may have heard before?). Either way, it’s pretty hot. Don’t forget 2 peep the videos featuring Ludacris & Talib Kweli! Enjoy!

Sry for the late update 2day but it was a travel day for me and I was on the road all day. Regardless, better late than never, starting w/ another unreleased track from Andrew by Lupe Fiasco called “The Birds And The Bees”! Sweet lyrics of course and a Kanye West beat that is certainly reminiscent of his beats of old. Keeping it short and sweet, many cool updates below including NEW RMXs from CHI-Town’s Yung Berg & Ben One, as well as Kardinal Offishall. Finally, a couple video premieres for 2 great songs - The Game’s “My Life” f/ Lil’ Wayne & Gym Class Heroes’ “Cookie Jar” f/ The Dream and some video interviews w/ T.I. & Redman! Enjoy!
First off, be sure 2 check out Max G.’s post, where we celebrate the 1st anniversary of Gowhere Hip Hop! It’s a must-read so please take the time 2 check it out and don’t just skim it looking for music. As for the music, FSD drops another old, unreleased song featuring a Chicago rapper, this one a freestyle with Lupe Fiasco. Likewise w/ Kanye West, it is very interesting 2 hear the growth and differences of old Lupe vs. NEW Lupe. As u can see in this freestyle, Lupe flows like his usual, top-notch self, but surely with a harder edge than the Lupe you’re prolly used 2. Of course he comes thru w/ some nice lines that is delivered on point as well. Below, u can check out some more NEW trax featuring T.I., Akon, Jennifer Hudson, Christina Milian, & MORE! The vid section contains the already much-talked about (and hilarious) Shaq freestyle where he disses former teammate Kobe Bryant. In case u haven’t seen it, u can see it below, but the statement Shaq released about the freestyle also warrants mentioning (u can see that below the video). U can also view a behind the scenes look at the making of the video for “Paris, Tokyo” by Lupe Fiasco. Enjoy!
I saw some Lupe Fiasco track requests of songs that were supposed 2 be on Lupe Fiasco’s Food & Liquor but were pulled b/c of the infamous leak. The 2 I picked were one of my all-time favorite Lupe trax “Spray Paint” f/ Ghostface & Mike Shinoda (Of Linkin Park & Fort Minor). I still can’t decide which rapper gets the nod for the best verse on this song, but they’re all so so sick. And another fresh track that I liked was “Lupe The Killer” (Killa.. Killa.. Killa..!), especially w/ lil sample voice going, “…and you ain’t dressed for this aff-air..”. Haha, I love that. If you don’t have these, please add them 2 ur Lupe collection and DL below! Enjoy!
“I was freestyling. That’s all. It was all done in fun. Nothing serious whatsoever. That is what mc’s do. They freestyle when called upon. I’m totally cool with Kobe. No issue at all. And by the way, don’t forget, six albums, two platinum, two gold. Anybody who knows me knows I’m a funny freestyler. Check the NBA DVD when I was wrapping about Vlade Divac during my first championship run. Please tell everybody don’t make something out of nothing.”

A lot of NEW trax-n-vids from some up and coming names in hip hop and R&B above and below. The feature track is the latest from Kidz In The Hall - really feelin’ that beat. Another example of good hip hop. Joe B. also brings it on his latest track (over a Swizz Beatz instrumental) and the other track I’m feelin’ is by Konvict Muzik’s up and coming R&B singer Colby O’Donis. Take a look at what u like and DL! While waiting, u R&B fans will enjoy video premieres from 2 more artists on the rise - Raheem DeVaughn and Jay Sean! Enjoy!

But yeah, just ridiculous. Anyway, a TON of NEW content for ya below, some dating back 2 Monday even, as we were quite busy typing up the GemStones Interview and putting the finishing touches on our NEW-Look site (thx for the love everyone!). But yeah, check out the latest trax from The Cool Kids, Talib Kweli, Eminem & D12, and some R&B f/ R. Kelly, Jamie Foxx & MORE! Finally, as another special thanks to Brian for helping us set up what you see before you, DL a recent (Yes, I know it’s been out for a lil bit…) track by 2 of his favorite artists of all-time - Mariah Carey & R. Kelly with the “Touch My Body RMX” Haha! Enjoy!
I happened 2 catch The Colbert Report last night and was treated with simply an awesome couple segments with John Legend! Colbert talks politics with John Legend in the interview above and it’s a great and funny interview. Watch that first before watching the highlight performance where they go back and forth in a duet about Lady Liberty, haha! Some of the lyrics are inspired by their interview, that’s why. JL is incredible on the vocals and the song and lyrics are simply hilarious. They are MUST-SEE videos above! Also, check out the video PREMIERES from The Roots and Raheem DeVaughn below! Enjoy!
Again, due 2 the hack and losing all our posts… I figure I’d upload the *Tibs Favs. of the past few days and weeks so in case you missed the NEW music, you can still DL it below while we are still recovering as many posts as possible. And I know a ton of ppl are always lookin’ at the recent old posts all the time and still DLing tracks from days and weeks ago, so this post should help those ppl looking for the new music they may have missed! Sorry for the inconvenience again, but Gowhere Hip Hop will be back and better than ever in no time! Enjoy!
NOTE: There’s no way we can recover my posts between early/mid October until now… it’s unfortunate, but I will have updates like these in the future that summarize the best trax and videos I have posted from the past 3 months, in case you have missed out on the past content!
