I was buys all day Saturday, but back on Sunday with a HUGE, 25 track update, predominantly R&B featuring all the big names like Trey Songz, Ne-Yo, Chris Brown, Usher, Mario, Jamie Foxx, & MORE! My boy Songz sounds ridiculous over the 2 covers of Slim and Robin Thicke. I’m really feelin’ those couple trax and to a lesser extent, the “Just Like Me RMX” w/ Usher added and the Paula DeAnda / Frankie J duet. Peep all the trax below as well as the latest video premiere from Gym Class Heroes and a video about The Roots’ retirement from touring. Enjoy!

Whoo, 18 track update for ya ears here, starting off w/ the much anticipated collabo between 3 of 2day’s biggest rap stars: “I Did It For Hip Hop” by Ludacris f/ Jay-Z & Nas! And this one blew me away. Luda comes thru with a catchy hook over a raw hip hop beat and I’m especially feelin’ Nas’ verse. Definitely one that every hip hop fan should DL! Down below, an interesting original version of Common’s “Be”, a hot beat on the DJ Felli Fel track, the nice extended version of “Propane” f/ T.I., some more various hip hop and R&B trax-n-vids! Enjoy!
**UPDATE**(7:47PM CT): It looks like this is the official cover for 808’s & Heartbreak according 2 Amazon. What do you think? Vote in the poll below and check out all the NEW Trax-N-Vids!
FULL, LQ, Limited DJ, Track off upcoming album, 808’s & Heartbreak *Tibs Fav.™
FINALLY back.. and with a TON of goodies for ya eyes and ears, starting with NEW Kanye West from 808’s & Heartbreak! “Coldest Winter” was released earlier, but this is the HQ (supposedly CDQ) version of the track that is also supposedly dedicated 2 his late mother. I can def see that and I think parts of it can def be applied 2 a relationship also. I’m really diggin’ “Coldest Winter” a lot; the beat is ridiculous and inspired by some 80s music and Kanye passionately sings some beautiful lyrics. I’m still on the fence about the album’s direction, but it appeals 2 me because I love the topics he’s covering and I don’t mind the autotune that much and feel that Kanye uses it real well 2 the point that it’s not really annoying. We’ll see about the entire album, however. I’ll reserve judgment on “Robocop” because it does sound like a LQ version, but I can say that it didn’t strike me like “Heartless” and “Coldest Winter” did at first. Both of the latter trax really stand out 2 me and will be on repeat for months 2 come (just like LA’s “The Journey” produced by Mr. Music that u should definitely grab if u haven’t already!). As for the rest of the update, NEW trax from John Legend, Ludacris featuring co-stars like Lil’ Wayne, Common, and even Spike Lee, a couple real nice Q-Tip trax, and some other solid efforts from hip hop and R&B artists that u can peep below. Also be sure 2 check out the latest video premieres featuring Estelle, Bobby Valentino, and Keri Hilson among others. Enjoy!
***UPDATE: Our buddies over @ OG Hip Hop came thru with a collection of more extensive thoughts and coverage of Kanye West’s listening party. CLICK HERE!
Above is another passionate, live performance from the superstar Kanye West! Just before the 2:30 mark and the end chorus are the two highlights of the performance… with the lowlight the constant screen time of the same teary-eyed girl.. ugh. Anyway, the performance was a sweet one which came after Kanye hosted the first listening party for 808’s & Heartbreak. The listening party featured forty nude girls, hahaha, and of course the first exposure of the entire album to a select audience. The web has started discussing it here and here and truthfully, I’m warming up to the direction of Kanye’s 808’s & Heartbreak, even though it looks like he’ll be doing more singing than rapping. Time will tell. Below, check out a bunch of NEW trax and video premieres featuring a nice one from The Cool Kids, Busta Rhymes, Talib Kweli, Trey Songz brilliantly covering another hit w/ Ryan Leslie’s “Addiction” being the culprit this time, Brandy, Chris Brown, Keri Hilson, & MORE! Enjoy!
Here’s an update primarily with a lot of HOT R&B for ya ears, starting off with a couple trax from Mario. “Inside Of You” is a real nice slow jam where Mario’s voice shines over the beat. It keeps with the theme in many of these R&B tracks that the strongest part of the song is the lyrics. I’m definitely feelin’ the lyrics from the 2 Mario trax above and the other *Tibs Favs.™ below, but it may not last because whether it is an uptempo or slow beat, I was not completely wowed by any of them. That said tho, a lot of lyrics here that just sum up the feelings of any type of situation that you may be able 2 relate 2 and that is perhaps the biggest appeal of the R&B genre 2 me. There’s also some hip hop below with another Empire-laden T.I. track, Cassidy, & a 50 Cent snippet! Be sure 2 scroll down for the “Love Lockdown” video premiere that Max G. beat me 2 and some Jeff Pak artwork and the return of The Five One! Enjoy!
***2:00PM - Just added this Kanye West feature below…***
Wow, def wanted 2 come thru w/ an update sooner, but this is truly a yawnfest of a large update for ya honestly. Songz comes thru w/ yet another cover - this time of Jazmine Sullivan. Hey, I’m not complaining, he actually does the covers/RMXs of all these hit songs very well. This one is another solid example. Below, ehhhhhh on most of those trax as u can see from the Tibs Favs. I’m just goin’ 2 throw on “Swagga Like Us” & Year Of The Gentleman and be back later. Enjoy!
Wow, all day I was expecting the CDQ version of “Love Lockdown” but it didn’t surface on iTunes or anywhere. I’m optimistic it’ll be out 2morrow (Tuesday) as Tuesdays are usually new release day anyway. So we’ll see, but in the meantime, there’s plenty of music in this post 2 keep ya busy, starting w/ a couple hot NEW trax from The Cool Kids. “Dreamin’” stands out especially b/c it’s a fresh beat, even for the hip hop duo who always come w/ a unique sound, but also b/c of the lyrics. They come thru w/ a story, especially on the masterful 2nd verse, and I love songs that do that (Lupe’s “Hip Hop Saved My Life” is my all-time favorite storytelling song). Add a captivating sample for a hook that matches the song’s beat and content perfectly and it equals a song that I’ll be playin’ on my iTunes for some time 2 come. Big ups 2 The Morning Tilt & Trolley Stop Entertainment!
There’s another big update below as trax from big names like Ne-Yo, Estelle, & Mrs. Carter can be had as well as a bunch of R&B. Good 2 see Casely w/ a 2nd straight track w/ a well-known producer (Danja the other one), but I’m not totally feelin’ it just yet. There’s also some vids 2 peep including the latest from Cons, Lupe’s very limited air time @ the MTV VMAs last nite, and a lil’ interview w/ Young Jeezy! Enjoy!
