Here’s our NEW music update encompassing late Thursday night and Friday morning. (My apologies… travelling from Minny 2 Chicago took 12 hrs and then I jetted 2 the Lupe concert @ the Congress w/ the GWHH crew… more details above). Regardless, I’d figure I’d kick it off with a video premiere (and cuz I’m 2 fatigued 2 find a pic for an artist w/ a track below, haha) by Keyshia Cole f/ 2Pac! However, it peeves me that this track was actually on Pac’s Life - the 2006 album by 2Pac and is now considered new to many others as it looks to be the 1st single off of Keyshia Cole’s upcoming 3rd album. Eh, at the same time, it is a beautiful track that I liked a lot a couple years ago and the more people who hear that nice message, the better. Down below, a buncha trax f/ a T-Pain / Kanye collabo, Chamillionaire, Talib Kweli, The Dream, & MORE! And finally, check out a few more videos featuring Common talkin’ politics, the latest Lil’ Wayne video premiere, along w/ video premieres from Saigon and Pharoahe Monch, and a couple live performances by T.I. & Kidz In The Hall! Enjoy!
Producer: Kendrick “WyldCard” Dean - FULL, CDQ, Rumored track off upcoming album, READY*Tibs Fav.™
Here comes a brand NEW, original track from Trey Songz - a sure-fire R&B hit with a captivating beat from Kendrick “WyldCard” Dean (B. Cox’s protegé, I believe)! The lyrics illustrate a nice story, not about a relationship, rather about real-life issues with lines like, “For every father that walks out / there’s a daddy that loves his child” and “Fine young man / off to war / don’t understand what he fighting for / yet he reports / obeys his call of duty and fights for his countraayyy”. Damn, this is a song I’ve had on repeat ever since I DLed it and like Usher’s “Hush” (also added the artwork @ the very bottom) from earlier in the week, it is a meaningful R&B song that not only R&B fans will certainly enjoy, but also the casual listener. MUST-DL above! Down below, a batch of loose ends are tied up with solid trax featuring Saigon, Casely, Jagged Edge, Leona Lewis, & MORE as well as a couple videos featuring Kanye West & Craig David! Enjoy!
Comin’ thru w/ more NEW trax-n-vids for ya ears, starting w/ a club banger by Usher that will def play nicely in your speakers. I love how Usher changes how and when he hits the high notes throughout. Def worth the DL and jhear for yourself; has growing potential for me so we’ll see. Down below, some hip hop featuring Young Jeezy, Paul Wall & Akon (hot, club beat — shouts 2 Bfochs!), and Blu from Blu & Exile! The videos are worth peepin’ as well with live performance footage featuring Common, Pharrell, Kanye West, & Consequence! Hard 2 tell if I really like the NEW song from Common and Pharrell in that video, but the performance is definitely high energy. Also, our boy Bullet passed along a video of a talented asian dancer who got his groove on 2 Bullet’s single, “Earth Girls”! Definitely another sign that Bullet’s music is blowin’ up so congrats 2 our boy. Enjoy!
Producer: Scram Jones - FULL, CDQ, Track off upcoming album, El Che*Tibs Fav.™
Some brand NEW Rhymefest for ya ears (shouts 2 Andrew) and its a ridiculous, good hip hop track that speaks at u on first listen! The catchy “Ya’ll ain’t heard it from me” sample scratched in as the chorus is a great mesh for the whole song with a simple, nice beat and Rhymefest and Wale speakin’ on the game w/ Rhymefest setting the tone in the first verse with the ear-catching line,“Records ain’t sellin’, what the f*** is my incentive, captain?” Yeah, this is some real hip hop that ya’ll should add 2 ur collection that rings especially pleasing 2 this Chicagoland native, just as the slow, dirty south beat of Mistah F.A.B.’s “2MPH” f/ Bun B, Paul Wall, & Chamillionaire will ring the right chords with the Houston crowd! U can also check out a couple NEW trax from Mickey Factz with some guest features and some ridiculous lines! And don’t forget, down below.. a couple vid premieres from Clipse and the sexy songstress, Ashanti! Enjoy!
Producer: J. Lack - FULL, CDQ, Rumored track off upcoming album, Year Of The Gentleman*Tibs Fav.™
Hope everyone’s 4th was a safe and fun 1! Back with another mainstream update for ya ears w/ the feature track being a ridiculous one by one of my favorite R&B singers, Ne-Yo, & one of my favorite up and coming producers, Usher’s younger brother, J. Lack! J. Lack always has this unique sound and it’s never consistent w/ his other trax (which is a good thing) and Ne-Yo shines over this with some cool lyrics. Def a MUST-HAVE for ur R&B collection! Down below, check out the latest from fellow R&B crooners, Lloyd, Colby O’Donis, & One Chance among others as well as some hip hop featuring the Busta Rhymes, Lil’ Wayne, Ludacris collabo (which could grow on me) and a track from Chi-Town’s GLC! Also peep the lil’ Nas flick if ur interested at the bottom! Enjoy!
