It’s here! Chip Tha Ripper’s long awaited mixtape (thx 2 DJ E-V, Kev, Chip for everything) and it’s a great representation of all the hard work Chip has put in lately. It really shows Chip’s growth compared to some of his old stuff and he’s only gettin’ better. The mixtape release party is THURSDAY out in Cleveland - at the Grog Shop, so if ur in the area, head out there where they will be handing out physical copies of the mixtape and t-shirts (and I’d assume a performance from Chip himself..!). Don’t forget that 2day is Mixtape Messiah day as well - as you gotta head over 2 Chamillionaire.com2 purchase the mixtape! (Watch the video below for more reason to do so.) Also check out tracks and vids featuring the Gym Class Heroes, The Game, Crooked I, Danja, & MORE! Enjoy!

John Legend Interview & Rehearsal Of “If You’re Out There”
NEW john Legend “If You’re Out There” is a MUST-DL for any fan of music and even any follower of the political campaigns for this year’s election. JL showcases that one of a kind powerful, soulful voice, while also sending a ringing message to 2day’s generation. The description from his Barack Obama page concisely sums up the goal of the track perfectly,
“A call-to-action and evocation of human potential, “If You’re Out There” reflects the themes of hope and change, responsibility and leadership, and commitment to a better tomorrow expressed in the principles of Barack Obama and the hearts of the American people.”
John Legend performed the song for the first time @ last nite’s opening for the Democratic National Convention in Denver and in addition 2 DLing the track above, peep the interview and rehearsal of John Legend as he talks in detail about the track - a very interesting 2 and a half minute watch. I’ve had “If You’re Out There” on repeat all morning and u should 2; DL above!!!
As for the rest of the update, some more solid R&B comin’ thru from up and comers Rob (Of One Chance) & LaShawn Daniels, as well as established star, Mario chimin’ in w/ a sweet snippet that is worth ur trouble. And we also got some hip hop for ya ears w/ a sweet J. Dilla produced track and a bunch of NY hip hop w/ the LL Cool J / 50 Cent collabo and the latest from Lloyd Banks. And I can’t forget another track by Young Buck and a video of Dead Prez @ Denver’s Capitol Hill! All worth checkin’ out so DL above & below and enjoy!

Shouts 2 Kev & Andrew for sendin’ thru the latest from our boy from Cleveland - Chip Tha Ripper w/ some excellent co-stars in Naledge, Mickey Factz, & Mic Terror! It’s a solid track that’ll be on Chip’s upcoming mixtape, which should be out any moment now. Def feelin’ Mickey’s & Naledge’s verses the most and many of u true hip hop heads will enjoy this track as well. Down below a few NEW trax for ya ears by Prodigy of Mobb Deep, One Chance, Frankie J, & a Chris Brown snippet that has some potential there. Enjoy!
The hip hop heads should already be familiar with the ATL’s Stat Quo, who was a rapper I first heard a few yrs ago and liked everything he was droppin. He is still with Shady/Aftermath from what I heard, but his debut album, Statlanta, has been constantly delayed and while it has apparently been completed for awhile, the label has yet 2 release it. The song above is Stat telling that story, along with other stories about his journey in the industry, Proof’s death, & more! Some pretty heartfelt lyrics attracted me right away on the 1st listen and reminded me why I liked Stat Quo in the first place. So if ur a big hip hop head, def give Stat a chance and DL 2day’s feature track above! Below, plenty more hip hop and R&B.. some thoughts on the trax below… Twista kills “The Business RMX”, Songz kills the hook on “Love For Money”, & I’m tryin’ 2 love Chris Brown’s “Captive”, but its slightly disturbing me that the song is in fact written in a girl’s perspective (a demo for the Pussycat Dolls… I can see Nicole S. on that Polow beat makin’ the radio for sure…). There’s also a couple videos featuring more from hip hop with Kidz In The Hall & Skillz! Enjoy!
Saturday’s update includes some solid trax throughout, starting w/ 2 by the rapper - Dolla with some 2 very strong features by superstars T.I. & Lil’ Wayne. I especially like T.I. on the hook of his feature, but the song as a whole might not have a strong lasting appeal. Still worth the DLs if ur fans of both of them tho. Below, the latest from Slim Thug, Lloyd Banks, Donnie Klang, & Rob (Of One Chance) as well as Pt. 3 of The Clipse’s Road 2 Success videos! Enjoy!
Ooh, I almost forgot - head over 2 our aff - lupEND for the Amajanese EP, featuring our boy S-Preme! Much love.

I’m lovin’ everything I’m hearing from R&B new-comer Karina Pasian, and this track is different than the previous ones we’ve posted off her debut album, First Love, in stores this coming Tuesday! “90s Baby” is sure 2 be a radio hit - it’s got the uptempo beat and the equally catchy hook, but there’s somethin’ about Karina that I can already see separates her. While this song isn’t as lyrically deep as her other songs, it is a nice track that exposes a lil’ bit more about who Karina Pasian is, a good idea for what looks 2 be the first track off her album! Below, there’s some more R&B featuring some big names like Brandy, Trey Songz, & Bobby Valentino, as well as some solid hip hop cuts - namely a CDQ version of an old T.I. mixtape track, a nice Talib Kweli feature, & a solid, passionate banger from Cassidy & Cory Gunz! Finally, peep the latest video premiere from Musiq SoulChild! Enjoy!
The Chicago R&B group - One Chance - has the unofficial title for “Most Songs Released Without Having An Actual Album” and chalk 2 more up 2 their case with the songs above. The SoundZ-produced (same producer of “Love In This Club Pt. 2″) RMX of “Look At Her” is a solid one that may grow on me, but the one I’m really feelin’ is the new jam - “I’m Callin’”. It’s not a slow jam, but not really a typical club banger either and the best part I like about that track is the lyrics (especially the chorus), emphasized by the group’s strong voices. Down below is some more R&B featuring Trey Songz, Usher??, Johnta Austin (with a nice track over a StarGate produced beat!), Avant, & MORE as well as a Joe Budden interview! Enjoy!

Large update, starting with another nice track from up and comer R&B singer Karina Pasian! It’s a slow jam that should be on her upcoming album of the same name, in stores August 19th! More trax below feature a pretty sick beat by The Underdogs, a nice Chris Brown feature, & Mikkey Halsted ripping thru one of my all-time favorite beats (Mobb Deep - “Shook Ones Pt. 2″). Finally, a ton of videos for u 2 look at, including behind the scenes looks at music videos from CRS, Lupe Fiasco, & T.I., and a bunch of Rock The Bells interviews with all the various artists on the bill. Enjoy!
More from the vault as another Prolyfic-produced Lupe track hits the web above with “U Don’t Know”. Truthfully, this is nothing more than a solid track OVERALL since I’m really not feelin’ the beat and the guy screaming on the chorus, but Lupe brings it as usual and it’s worth the DL 2 hear his rhymes alone. The track I’m really feelin’ 2day is by another Chicago cat - Yung Berg - as he comes thru with a song that I feel could be a hit. It’s produced by Boogz (shouts for a few of the trax) & DJ Chase and features the lovely Amerie on the hook. While Amerie carries the song with her strong vocals, YB also follows thru with the sick, twisted Chicago flow, that I feel he lacks sometimes in other trax. I hope this song blows up (CDQ version also.. poor versions are elsewhere) and it’s definitely one worth DLing. There’s plenty more trax below with Ne-Yo’s “It’s You” deserving some words. It’s over the wonderful Usher “Will Work For Love” beat (the hidden track on Here I Stand) and while Usher’s version is better and illustrates the difference in their voices, Ne-Yo’s is still a quality one, with the lyrics standing out above all. Don’t forget 2 peep the videos as well with some interesting ones f/ Ludacris, & Jay Electronica! Enjoy!
Finally the VIDEO PREMIERE for “Disperse” by Consequence f/ GLC & Really Doe has arrived! As said earlier, this was one of my favorite trax of ‘07 and the video really does the song justice. They illustrate the story that all 3 rappers touch on in their verses and are just havin’ fun, especially Lu and Cons throughout the vid, haha. All the while, everyone’s lookin’ pretty fly. Definitely a MUST-SEE video above so don’t sleep. The track is off of Don’t Quit Your Day Job, which is in stores now!
A bunch of trax below that u can DL, not a lot of special ones, but definitely check out a couple good hip hop trax from the Minneapolis MC Muja Messiah f/ Black Thought of The Roots, which fans of The Roots will enjoy as well as the Guru feature track where Guru spits it pretty nicely (unfortunately his verse is interrupted by a lil’ shout out, ugh!). Mainly hip hop trax below but also some R&B w/ One Chance & Donnie Klang! Enjoy!
