FULL, CDQ, Track off upcoming mixtape, First Impression *Tibs Fav.™
Check out another upcoming G.O.O.D. Music and Chicago artist, Really Doe, with his latest leak called “My City”! As u can assume from the title, Really Doe examines his hometown of Chicago and while some Morgan Freeman snippets are nicely sprinkled in the track, I’m not totally feelin’ the beat. However, it’s still a solid track that all Chicago hip hop fans should enjoy. Down below, a couple solid R&B trax from big names Usher & Jamie Foxx as well as videos featuring Common, Q-Tip, & Plies! Enjoy!
Def feelin’ the Young Ray / Chip Tha Ripper collabo, esp the beat, that I just added a lil bit after the original post went up. Make sure 2 DL that! (Shouts 2 Leak Jones)
A TON of nice R&B trax for ya ears w/ this update, starting off w/ Ryan Leslie comin’ thru w/ another midtempo beauty. I’ve been lovin’ his production lately, even giving the beats some solos as illustrated in “Quick Sand”, “When We Dance”, and his single “Addiction” off the top of my head. Those instrumental solos really enhance the song and are just simply ridiculous. R-Les comes thru w/ lyrics that I can find some relation to - a common theme throughout the R&B trax in the entire update, in fact. Snippets of Barack Obama’s speech appear in this NEW version of Usher’s “Hush” and I like them there as it enhances the message of the track even more. I love the message of Ne-Yo’s “Put In Work”. From the title alone, you can get the gist of the message about both sides having to put work into a successful relationship, but it seems like a demo for a female singer.. so it comes off a lil’ strange, haha! I also like the slow jam from Beyoncé and a very solid, StarGate-produced track from Qwote. Scroll below for a couple videos featuring Common and Ludacris as well and finally, peep this MTV news story about a NEW (ugh, prolly annoying) supergroup that Nelly is planning with T-Pain, Akon, & Pharrell. Enjoy!

FIRST off, I’d like 2 note that the cover above is UNOFFICIAL; rather, it was the winner of the kanYeLive.com Album Cover Contest. Now that that’s settled, this version of “Heartless” is surfacing as the FINAL version of the track; it is 3:30 in length, compared 2 the 3:33 of the last version we also released on GWHH. Comment on this post or in Jabbify about what the differences are (if any?). I’m struggling 2 hear distinct differences on the first couple listens of both versions next 2 each other, but there very well mite be some slight ones (the background vocals in the chorus?). Either way, it bothers me if I don’t have the FULL, FINAL version of songs and “Heartless” is an instant classic that everyone should have in its highest and intended quality. Make sure 2 vote in the poll above (I voted “Heartless”) and DL the NEW version above! Enjoy!

Spotted over @ Urban Music, the supposed MASTERED version of “Heartless” comes thru and well, you already know it’s hot! My comp speakers aren’t 2 great but in comparing the mastered version above w/ the ummastered version ‘Ye dropped on his blog a couple days ago, I did notice that Kanye’s voice in general simply booms over the beat more. There really is a difference there and although it is a slight difference, it is one worth DLing the NEW version above. We’ll see if there’s more versions 2 come from ‘Ye himself in the future. Also, Andrew liberated another rare, unreleased Lupe track, that truthfully is nothin’ more than solid 2 me. I was never feelin’ the old Lupe nearly as much as Lupe on his albums and since then, but it is interesting 2 see how much he’s grown. Down below u can also find a T.I. / Akon collabo called “Hero” that was a leftover track from T.I. Vs. T.I.P., I believe, that surfaced just now on that upcoming mixtape of T.I. songs that didn’t make Paper Trail as well and that you’ve seen here on GWHH. Other than that, there’s a few more trax and a couple videos of Scarface talkin’ politics and B.o.B. talkin’ about how his collabo with T.I. and Ludacris, “On Top Of The World” from Paper Trail came about. Enjoy!
Just caught this as well before I catch some sleep - the first El Che video premiere by Rhymefest for the No I.D. produced “Stolen”! Love the video as it really illustrates and provides depth 2 the song’s lyrics. It’s a deep song and the children drawing in class, matched up with the drawings of characters like Rhymefest in the video was really cool. Def a MUST-WATCH! Enjoy!
For Old School Sundays, I was thinkin’ of some Chicago stuff 2 put up and I stumbled upon a video that interested me… a collaboration of underground and rare hip hop from artists of Chicago. They include Twista, The Legendary Traxter, Juice, Quazaar f/ Verbal Kent, but the highlight is the much-talked about freestyle battle between CHI-Town legends Common & Kanye West, before they were CHI-Town legends! They playfully went at each other and the story was that Common won the battle (as told on his Finding Forever DVD if I’m not mistaken) and I think I’d agree altho ‘Ye comes with the best (and weakest) lines. Judge for yourself above! And below, some NEW-school Chicago trax - from up and comer Mikkey Halsted (thx again Andrew) and the R&B representatives, One Chance! CHI-TOWN UP! Enjoy!
***And a special, happy 31st birthday goes out 2 the biggest name in the rap game 2day… Mr. Kanye West! Much love from everyone at GWHH and all your fans! Congrats on the wave of success and here’s 2 another great year for u, Kanye! - Max G., Sgt. Tibs, & gowhere?***
Producer: No I.D. - 1994 Track from the album, Resurrection*Tibs Fav.
My installment of Old School Sundays is inspired by Common’s NEW single “Universal Mind Control” f/ Pharrell, which I’ve had on repeat when I’m not listening 2 Usher’s NEW album Here I Stand (in stores now!). So I thought 2 myself, what was the track that really got me into Common - and that is the classic above - “I Used To Love H.E.R.” Now I know a lot of u hip hop heads likely have this in ur library already, but I hope 2 turn some new heads onto Common for those who aren’t fully into the Chi-Town rapper yet. While Be was the first album I got of Common’s, it was this track that really elevated Common into elite level in my book as the personification of hip hop as a female love interest is straight up genius, and not 2 mention, well-executed! This track really put Common on the map as the lyrics on the entire 2nd album of his, Resurrection, lifted his credibility as a gifted lyricist 2 the mainstream. So if u haven’t heard this track (sounds NOTHING like the NEW single “Universal Mind Control”, might I add), DL it above PLEASE! U won’t regret it. Unfortunately, I was unable 2 attend Common’s performance in DePaul due 2 weather complicating the concert and a lot of ppl unable 2 get tickets; however, Max G. was able 2 attend and he may be posting a review or his thoughts on the concert very soon. He txted me that “Common was ill”, but he may go into more detail than that, haha. Anyway, the official music video is below as well! Enjoy!
