The Lupe vault is opened once again, courtesy of former producer Prolyfic and Andrew, and this is yet another track featuring Lupe & GemStones back from ‘01 or ‘02. The track is alrite; like many of the old, unreleased tracks from Lupe, it contains moments of clever lyrics and Lu’s high-quality flow throughout, but it is nothing special. These tracks are illustrating the growth of Lupe Fiasco and GemStones as artists - for instance, throw on “Go Baby” after hearing this track and u’ll see just how much these 2 have stepped up their game since. Down below, some hip hop and R&B featuring some big names like Mos Def, T-Pain, Flo Rida, Chris Brown, & Trey Songz! I’m really feelin’ Casely on the hook of the Pitbull track as well as Songz showin’ why he already has one of the best voices in R&B on “Love Song (Different For The Other)”! Also peep the Dem Franchize Boyz / Lloyd video premiere! Enjoy!
The video for “Announcement” is a MUST-WATCH! Not only is the song another hit by Common f/ Pharrell, but the video is a very basic, yet imaginative one. You’ll see why, but it is brilliantly executed w/ Common lookin’ fly w/ the ladies, who appear at his most clever lines about them, haha. I mean, just watch it for Common’s beard - quite frankly, I wish I can grow a thick one like that, haha. But anyway, more updates below with a couple trax by Marsha Ambrosius & Plies and another video premiere from Young Jeezy, Mos Def performing his version of “A Millie” live, & LL Cool J on ESPN! Enjoy!

Thx 2 smokeYYY for sendin’ thru a hot, NEW Kanye feature - a really interesting track as the title suggests, haha. The snippet was off a previous mixtape, but the full version is now released above, off the upcoming 88 Keys album. Lovin’ Kanye’s first verse (and Borat impersonation at the end, haha) and the level of wordplay is pretty high; again, with the subject matter at hand, clever double meanings are evident throughout the track. Definitely worth a listen for ya ears so DL above! Below, more NEW trax featuring a couple Recession trax from Young Jeezy, Kardinal Offishall’s next radio hit (my prediction) with new radio golden boy, The Dream (dope beat here), & some ladies R&B f/ Keri Hilson, Brandy, & Christina Milian! Peep more of the update below & make sure u don’t miss anything u like. Enjoy!
So here’s a lil somethin’ different up above - instead of a feature track, check out a sweet mixtape sent over from our friends at HIP HOP UPDATE - a themed mixtape called The Sole Of Hip Hop, where they compiled some of the best trax about fresh kicks! As somewhat of a shoehead myself, and certainly Max G. is up on his shoe game, we are fans of how the sneaker culture influences hip hop and vice versa. This mixtape is a nice reminder of how the two cultures blend 2gether. Peep the tracklist by clicking on the back cover above or check out the post at HHU! Down below is ur NEW music featuring some big names like Ne-Yo, jennifer Hudson, Kanye West, Mos Def, & MORE as well as NEW videos featuring more behind the scenes looks at upcoming videos as well as a recap of the Rock The Bells concert in Chicago we attended, Lupe Fiasco on CNN, a video premiere from The Game, & Jim Jones losing his mind and dissing Nas when Nas can absolutely destroy him! Haha, enjoy!
***Added some Nas performance videos from the event below!***

The 2008 Rock The Bells tour kicked off in Chicago this past Saturday on July 19th with a bevy of artists taking stage at the First Midwest Bank Ampitheatre. Artists and legends like Kidz In The Hall, Jay Electronica, Dead Prez, Immortal Technique, Rakim, De La Soul, Method Man & Redman, and Mos Def, The Pharcyde, Nas, and A Tribe Called Quest provided a concert of live, raw hip hop lasting nearly half a day! All the artists brought their own style and entertainment to the stage so there was never really a time to drift off and take a break. Some notable highlights and characteristics from the performances were the passion and clarity of the messages from Immortal Technique, the high-octane energy Method Man & Redman came with to ignite the crowd to another level (even stage-diving), Mos Def’s incredibly slick acapellas, Nas’ entire set, especially his “One Mic” finale, & finally the best moment for me - The Pharcyde performing one of my all-time favorite jams “Runnin’”, enhanced by the live energy by all four MCs and the live drums and instruments. One critique of ours was that Nas should have closed the concert because his buzz is at the highest with his recent release of Untitled and the hip hop legend had the crowd in the biggest frenzy of the night. No disrespect to A Tribe Called Quest, who were great in their own right as well, but we noticed the crowd was not as into them as they were with Nas. Again, “One Mic” was an excellent closing song to Nas’ set and would have been a perfect cap off for the entire day of real hip hop performances. We would have also liked to see artists like Dead Prez and Kidz In The Hall later on in the bill as the crowd was still filing in well into the early evening. We had a great time chillin’ with our friends, GWHH ‘Return Of The MC’ Contest winner S-Preme, and even some of the artists who were in and out of the SanDisk VIP lounge! Much love to Ronda & SanDisk for the hookups!

Daaaamn, FSD keeps droppin’ the old, unreleased material and above is another hot track featuring Chicago’s own Lupe Fiasco and the late Stack Bundles! I’m diggin’ the beat and of course the verses as BOTH Lupe & SB bring it, which creates a nice uptempo hip hop banger. Below is another hot NEW R&B track from one of the game’s best - Ne-Yo! I think this one will grow on u as it doesn’t have the instant appeal like “Closer”, but is a quality track nonetheless. I also threw up a couple videos including Lupe Fiasco goin’ Gold (looks like a surprise party for Lupe, haha. Congrats again Lu!) and a Common interview / Mos Def performance. Enjoy!
FULL, CDQ, Alternate Mix, potentially on the upcoming album, Rising Down*Tibs Fav.
Above is an alternate mix of one of the sick Roots tracks that was leaked a few weeks ago (click that Roots tag!) and I think I actually like this one better overall. It’s hard 2 say, but the songs do sound similar. It is def worth downloading the latest from The Roots tho and u can hear for yourself. Below are some more hip hop tracks and a video featuring Consequence for u 2 view while u wait for the downloads, haha. Twista hasn’t lost a step in his feature on the AZ track, def check out the latest from the Chicago rapper! Finally, all the T.I. fans will definitely want to read a candid interview with T.I. that was his first interview since his sentencing, where he discusses everything from family, business (a possible collabo with Amy Winehouse.. interesting), his experiences with the law, house arrest, and MORE! Real interesting read. Enjoy!

Sry for the delayed update (internet uploading very very slow), but it comes with a lot of content! Included is the MUST-DL mixtape from Blu of Blu & Exile, another really good conscious rapper that we love 2 promote here at GWHH! Some of the trax have been posted already but the mixtape as a whole is real nice and without DJ shoutouts. Below, you can check out a few NEW audio trax f/ 50 Cent, Young Buck over “Hip-Hop Saved My Life”, & R&B singer Lloyd! And then there are a ton of cool, NEW videos including the latest 2 from the Graduation Listening Experience from Kanye West and a few LIVE performances/videos featuring Kanye, Lupe, Mickey Factz & The Cool Kids, & Talib Kweli! Enjoy!
Old School Sundays! I’m already gettin’ psyched for the Glow In The Dark Tour as tix went on sale the past few days (and I’m goin 2 the Chicago show! JYEA!) Well, N.E.R.D. is a featured act for the Glow In The Dark Tour so I figured I would share a couple old, maybe rare remixes that you might not have. “She Wants To Move” is my favorite song of theirs and I still listen 2 it every now and then along with the RMX below featuring Common, Mos Def, Q-Tip, & De La Soul! Both versions are great and you might not have the remix, so if you don’t u can DL that below!
You can also DL the Jason Nevins RMX 2 “Rock Star” that is actually the version that I think gets played more, haha. It’s my favorite version of the song and it’s just simply incredible. So again, if you don’t have that, DL it below! Finally you can also check out an old LIVE performance of “She Wants To Move” on Letterman that is pretty sweet!
N.E.R.D.’s upcoming album, N.3.R.D., is due out this spring, just in time for the tour, so keep ur eyes out for that! Enjoy!
From Okayplayer: “In what will be the left-of-center hip hop event of he decade, The Roots latest album Rising Down is STACKED with guest appearances. In addition to crew regulars Dice Raw, Truck North, P.O.R.N. and yes, Malik B, confirmed guests include: Mos Def, Common, Kweli, Peedi Peedi, Styles P, Wale, Patrick Stump, Mercedes Martinez, Chrisette Michelle. Also rumored to appear are Q-Tip, Lupe Fiasco, and more.”
SWEET @ the news above! Again, having problems uploading… I had another track for ya, but it keeps stalling/going really slow on all share websites. I’ll just add it 2 2morrow’s update. Anyway, below are 2 Tibs Favs - one is a hip hop track from Blu (Of Blu & Exile), which I really like and think it’ll stay in my rotation for awhile 2 come. The other is an R&B remix of my favorite Trey Songz song (haha, no pun intended) - the 1st single from Trey Day - “Wonder Woman”! It’s got an all-new beat that is still hot, so DL them below and enjoy!
