Consequence Presents… No Matter What The Consequences
TON of videos and a couple trax above & below, starting with Consequence’s FIRST episode of his NEW video series, No Matter What The Consequences, entitled “Frontin’ Ass Niggaz”. Inspired by the Q-Tip album release party from earlier this week, Consequence rants about the hipster craze that is comin’ up in hip hop, but how some of these new artists are frontin’. Oh yeah, he also casually mentions that Q-Tip & Kanye West TOGETHER are producing his next album, You Win Some, You Lose Some due out in Spring 2009! Can’t wait for that and it’s a passionate, thought-provoking rant that us hip hop fans should really see. Down below, a couple NEW trax featuring a nice one by Ryan Leslie and a captivating Rich Boy track that will appeal to the masses, I’m sure. Also a bunch of videos featuring some of your favorite artists like Common, T.I., & MORE! Just scroll and enjoy!
“Boogz with the beat.. S-Preme with the heat! Hah!”. S-Preme’s statement rings true at the beginning of this Chicago banger! He rips a captivating chorus showin’ our hometown some love throughout his ridiculous verses. Most of all, it is S-Preme’s versatile Chicago flow that shines brightest on this track, switching up depending on the lyrics at times. The listener has 2 have an attentive ear 2 catch all the words, but clarity isn’t an issue because no matter how fast S-Preme is going, u can still understand word for word, even w/ some Chicago twist in there as well! Can’t wait 2 bump this throughout the city as Chicagoans will surely eat this track up, but hip hop heads in general have no choice but to respect S-Preme’s skills. Down below, a batch of solid, NEW trax featuring Q-Tip, a hot Mos Def snippet, and my boy Montell Jordan, among others. Don’t forget 2 peep the Musiq SoulChild/MJB video premiere as well! Enjoy!
12:25PM CT: Added 3 more solid trax f/ The Game, Chicago’s Mic Terror, & Craig David!
More trax (some that I missed again from the weekend), but now I’m all caught up. Truthfully, most of them is in one ear, out the other while I was multitasking and lookin’ for a cool pic of T.I. (and found one where he’s sporting the same mini goatee that I’ve been rockin’… jyea!) “On Top Of The World” is from Paper Trail and this “RMX” has an added verse from B.O.B. The song in general is growing on me and it’s definitely worth the preview/DL 2 check out the new verse (that is at the beginning also). Other than that, nothin’ really caught me on 1st listen other then some of Mic Terror’s clever lines about what he would do if he were God. That’s a solid track from the Chicago rapper for sure! There’s also some videos below featuring Mickey Factz, The Cool Kids, Lupe Fiasco, & Common! Enjoy!
Producer: Don Cannon - FULL, CDQ, CLEAN, Track off upcoming album, Theatre Of The Mind *Tibs Fav.™
Some NEW hip hop from some big names here, starting off w/ the latest from Ludacris! As you should expect with Luda, his rhymes are clever and on point, even referencing the Indiana Pacers from the infamous brawl and Alonzo Mourning, which makes this NBA fan appreciate it even more. I’m not feelin’ the Don Cannon beat like I know some are, but it’s not a bad one and compliments Luda well. Down below are a couple trax from Nelly, featuring a host of big names like T.I., R. Kelly, and ‘it’ producer, Polow Da Don. I’m not really into them, but I know they’ll attract the ears of many others. Further down is the video premiere to one of my favorite songs of 2008, “Let It Rock” by Kevin Rudolf f/ Lil’ Wayne! The video is a nice one, with some cool laser special effects, and before today, I haven’t seen what Kevin Rudolf looks like, and it was a fun surprise when I watched the video, haha. But it’s a great track and dug it up from our summer archives for those who don’t have it already! Don’t forget to peep interviews w/ Erykah Badu & Immortal Technique as well as some upcoming events in the Chi f/ Twista that you shouldn’t sleep on if ur in the area. Enjoy!
FULL, CDQ, Track off upcomingmixtape, Can’t Stop Me*Tibs Fav.™
Shouts 2 Kev & Andrew for sendin’ thru the latest from our boy from Cleveland - Chip Tha Ripper w/ some excellent co-stars in Naledge, Mickey Factz, & Mic Terror! It’s a solid track that’ll be on Chip’s upcoming mixtape, which should be out any moment now. Def feelin’ Mickey’s & Naledge’s verses the most and many of u true hip hop heads will enjoy this track as well. Down below a few NEW trax for ya ears by Prodigy of Mobb Deep, One Chance, Frankie J, & a Chris Brown snippet that has some potential there. Enjoy!
Honestly, I’m feelin’ this NEW track from our boy S-Preme more than anything else below. There’s nothing special below, so if u choose one track 2 DL 2day, make it the one above by the up and coming Chicago workaholic, S-Preme! It’s a fresh, fresh track with a unique beat and S-Preme changing styles and flows throughout. He got me immediately with his lil’ intro transition into the first verse that was just dope. Takes a couple listens 2 fully grasp the lyrics/punchlines (rectum one was great) and finally, he goes ridiculous in the last 30 seconds or so. Another professional track by S-Preme above, who deserves 2 keep blowin’ up! Below, like I said, nothin’ special, but some big names like Young Jeezy, Ice Cube, Ne-Yo, Joe, & MORE as well as some interesting videos 2 peep! Enjoy!
Producer: Swizz Beatz? - FULL, CDQ, 1st single off upcoming album, Theatre Of The Mind*Tibs Fav.™
A few standout trax from the bunch above and below, starting with Ludacris’ latest single (thx 2 Steve-O for the send) that will surely be hitting the radio in due time. It features Chris Brown & Sean Garrett and supposedly is produced by Swizz Beatz. The song is pretty solid on 1st listen and is exactly the type of song that will grow on me over time. The song is aimed squarely at the pop crowd, especially with a unique beat that is also likely 2 annoy some as well. I’m indifferent on the beat, like many of the vocals by Luda & CB, so we’ll see how this track lasts over time. Down below, Trey Songz kills the first verse of the “Girls Around The World RMX” and T.I. & Fabolous kill the “Hi Hater RMX”! Also be sure 2 check out a few vids and the extensive Complex feature on Lupe Fiasco & N*E*R*D! Enjoy!

So are there gonna be no more Lupe solo albums? Is there a CRS project that you’re—
Lupe Fiasco: Yeah, the CRS project hopefully will come before my last album. So that will probably be the next thing that everybody kind of goes into.
I heard you were the one that actually gave the sample for “Us Placers” that was out there.
Lupe Fiasco: Yeah, I produced the record; Pharrell came up with the name and the idea. And “Us Placers” was the first song that’s like, “Yeah, this could work.”

For this installment of Old School Sundays, check out a track from 2005 by the first lady of Lupe’s FNF record label - Shayla G! She’s another Chicago rapper who brings it with a hard edge and witty lyrics. The first verse is a perfect illustration of her unique style, flow, and wordplay (and I personally love the Chris Farley reference.. I loved him). So definitely peep what the talented 1st & 15th record label has 2 offer if u are unfamiliar with Shayla G. Get familiar with her because we should be getting some NEW music from Shayla G, later in the week. Aite so this post is full of goodies for ya eyes and ears, starting with yet another Chicago rapper who deserves some shine - Mic Terror! Shouts 2 Eddie for sending us the MP3s for a couple trax u may enjoy - the first being a solo track from Mic Terror, that is a cleverly dirty track with some lines that truthfully made me laugh out loud. And as a bonus DL, check out the track from M.I.A. f/ Mic Terror & Timbaland that is a typical, fast-paced banger from the hands of Timbo. I’m seriously diggin’ both those trax above so take my word and DL them and give ‘em a chance. Down below, u can learn more about Mic Terror w/ his Vimby profile! (Shouts 2 Eddie S. for the send thrus - scroll down for more updates…)
