Some more NEW trax for ya ears before I sign off for the nite.. the feature track - a positive one by Chris Brown! I feel like the beat was motivational right away, somethin’ that would be in a Disney movie, and did some diggin’ and found out the track was in fact on the Team USA Soundtrack - a promotional CD in light of the Olympics that started 2day! It’s a catchy, nice track that I think could grow on me as time passes; def a MUST-DL for the CB fans out there! Turns out Nelly’s “Warrior” is on the soundtrack as well and big ups 2 Laura K. for sending us more promotional information on the Team USA Soundtrack, which can be seen below (and all over the iTunes store!)

Below, find some more NEW trax featuring RMXs 2 Robin Thicke & Jennifer Hudson’s first singles, “Magic” & “Spotlight”, respectively. “Magic” continues 2 grow on me and MJB is, well, MJB. Makes for a good mix, but I can’t say the same for Young Jeezy on the “Spotlight RMX”, as this is a case where I feel he doesn’t belong on the track. He’s fine in spurts, and on different types of beats, but not a soulful, StarGate produced song w/ Jennifer’s lovely vocals. I mean, his obnoxious tone and average verse (EX: plugging his own upcoming album, which sounded more forced than clever) brings the song down and makes me revert back 2 the original. Furthermore, when I first laid eyes on the tracklist for L.A.X., I saw The Game & Ne-Yo’s collabo (downloadable now below!) and was real intrigued and excited 2 hear it. Unfortunately for me, it did not live up 2 my expectations as I feel The Game was not that strong on the track and even Ne-Yo came off a lil’ forced in coming up w/ a hook, but perhaps its the subject matter. I suppose the song could grow on me, and maybe it will since it could be a likely candidate for The Game’s next radio hit, but on first listen, was not really feelin’ it. Finally, enjoy Donnie Klang’s first video premiere for a song that I liked - “Take You There” f/ Diddy! Oh, and I threw in a 10 second video of Lupe saying doing his lil version of “Hi Hater”, which made me chuckle, haha! Enjoy!
A bunch of HOT NEW trax for ur Sunday evening, starting w/ 2 nice ones from 2 of the 3 QUEENS of R&B 2day - Mary J. Blige & Beyoncé! (Alicia Keys being the 3rd IMO..) Mary J. covers Ciara’s “Supernatural” and displays a very powerful and beautiful voice while Mrs. Carter kills another uptempo beat that, who knows?, could be an upcoming single on her developing album. Down below, I’m feelin’ a lot more trax including parts of the “Girls Around The World (DJ Khaled RMX)” (T.I. of course), the 2 StarGate produced trax by R&B singers Mario & Dontae, & NYC rappers Fabolous and Lloyd Banks comin’ thru w/ some nice rhymes on their respective trax! Not sure if any of the trax from this update will have an enormous lasting appeal for me, but they’re all certainly enjoyable! Haha, so enjoy!
Above is a video premiere I wasn’t expecting so fast, but it actually makes sense that Big Boi & Mary J. Blige released the video for “Something’s Gotta Give”, given the current state of the country and their clear backing of Barack Obama! The video is pretty neat, illustrating some of the issues they talk about in the lyrics, all the while lookin’ fly (Big Boi) & sexy (Mary J.)! Back from the doc with some updates for ya eyes and ears, including a very unique, NEW track from Common that he debuted above in a live performance! The beat between the chorus and the verses changes drastically, which is very interesting, but most of all, Common KILLS it, spitting every word clearly live and droppin’ names like Kimbo Slice and Michael Vick very cleverly. Here’s 2day’s NEW music update with the feature track bein’ from one of my all-time favorites - DMX! It is a sincere, focused collaboration with the British singer, Seal, and it’s a hot one! I really like the DMX (and all rappers actually) when they really use their lyrics 2 focus on something meaningful, and this track is shades of that old DMX. Def a MUST-HAVE for the hip hop fans out there. Below, there’s some more quality trax that cover a variety of taste, as I’m really feelin the 2nd part of Joe Budden’s “Who”, which is nearly 6 minutes long of Budden straight up rapping on some throught-provoking issues of hip hop a la Pt. 1! Can’t wait for Pt. 3 of this lil’ series of trax. If ur a big Trey Songz fan like me, you’ll be satisfied with his 2 latest features, altho I’m not really feelin’ the entire trax as a whole.. and the 2 R&B trax at the bottom by Joe (shouts 2 Urban Music) and featuring Colby O’Donis are pretty solid as well. For Old School Sundays, I wanted to reflect back to the golden age of DMX with some of my favorite tracks from his album, “And Then There Was X”. His recent arrests, and negative press can’t make me forget his talented body of work, including his role in one of the best movies ever made called, “Belly”. Check out some great material below.

Whoo, above is a HOT hip hop track featuring some of CHI-Town’s finest - Kanye West & Common. It is by the Chicago spoken word, composer, and musical artist Malik Yusef! Lovin’ the vibe and beat 2 it and Common’s verse is my personal favorite in it. Below you can check out a video of a Mary J. Blige and Ne-Yo performance from Super Bowl weekend (and peep the related performance videos by double clicking the video and viewing them on the side). Below that you can DL a few new R&B trax… a couple Chris Brown snippets and a cover of “One Call Away” - the hit song by Chingy - by Danny Fernandes. “One Call Away” was one of my favorites when it came out in 2003 and Danny Fernandes is great over the track as he performs the original chorus and sings new verses! Btw, I know I was waaay off on the Super Bowl prediction, haha, but wow, what a game! I’m still kind of shocked the day after.. for sure still shocked on that Tyree catch, hats off 2 the Giants tho for their Super Bowl W!

He has a sold-out show at the Nokia Theater on February 2 (the night prior to the Super Bowl) as part of his tour (and he promised special guests such as CRS during the summer leg of his outing). “I think we got an album that people are gonna get. Initially, people enjoyed and loved it, but I think people are going to love it even more once it sits, because it’s such a heavy body of work that you gotta break down. … I think it’s gonna re-evolve. It’s gonna re-happen!”
