Whoo, 18 track update for ya ears here, starting off w/ the much anticipated collabo between 3 of 2day’s biggest rap stars: “I Did It For Hip Hop” by Ludacris f/ Jay-Z & Nas! And this one blew me away. Luda comes thru with a catchy hook over a raw hip hop beat and I’m especially feelin’ Nas’ verse. Definitely one that every hip hop fan should DL! Down below, an interesting original version of Common’s “Be”, a hot beat on the DJ Felli Fel track, the nice extended version of “Propane” f/ T.I., some more various hip hop and R&B trax-n-vids! Enjoy!
***NOTICE: As many of you are quite aware, GWHH was temporarily unavailable due 2 some sort of copyright infringement involving the T.I. “Live Your Life” video premiere and the Mos Def track, “Life In Marvelous Times”. It seems due to our high traffic volume, and visitor rate we’ve been targeted for the second time, and thus shut down temporarily until the materials in question were removed. We have no problem taking down material that’s leaked (by the record labels themselves), however by law our host is contacted and our site gets temporarily shut down; robbing our daily visitors of seein’ more content from those artists and many others! If only we were just contacted directly….. We will now have to be more careful in re-upping broken links to new tracks as they are probably getting broken for a reason; so if a new record comes out and the link gets broken, we will have to oblige to the broken link in order to prevent ourselves from being temporarily shut down again! Anyways, sorry for the inconvenience everyone, and just remember what is happening when you see our site temporarily unavailable. Although it’s a major inconvenience, we here at GWHH will take it as a compliment as no other hip hop blogs apparently get affected by this when posting the same material! Much love for staying with us, and lets move forward with some great new updates!
Anyway, here is a big update 2 get caught up, starting with an important video premiere 2 Usher’s latest hit, “Hush”! I think Usher recorded this real recently as the mp3 was released just a short couple weeks ago (if that) and a video is already being shot, just in time for the election on November 4th! The video illustrates the hardships that they lyrics describe and obviously comes thru with some very powerful images. The message is clear: VOTE on November 4th (2 our majority U.S. visitors)! Down below, a batch of solid trax, with Freeway echoing the above message in “Change”. Jamie Foxx comes thru w/ a formulaic single, featuring a somewhat tiresome production from Tricky Stewart & The Dream because it sounds like a lot of what they put out already. U can always count on T.I. comin’ thru tho so this one might grow on me. There’s also some R&B featuring another potential grower from Ne-Yo and some nice trax featuring Solange & Casely (prolly my fav. in the update). Finally, Cons hit everyone w/ a couple e-mails w/ what he’s been up 2 recently - some exclusive footage from the John Legend Album Release Party and the announcement of his last video premiere from Don’t Quit Your Day Job, with “Job Song” hitting the internet on election day; yes, November 4th! Enjoy!
Producer: Kendrick “WyldCard” Dean - FULL, CDQ, Rumored track off upcoming album, READY*Tibs Fav.™
Here comes a brand NEW, original track from Trey Songz - a sure-fire R&B hit with a captivating beat from Kendrick “WyldCard” Dean (B. Cox’s protegé, I believe)! The lyrics illustrate a nice story, not about a relationship, rather about real-life issues with lines like, “For every father that walks out / there’s a daddy that loves his child” and “Fine young man / off to war / don’t understand what he fighting for / yet he reports / obeys his call of duty and fights for his countraayyy”. Damn, this is a song I’ve had on repeat ever since I DLed it and like Usher’s “Hush” (also added the artwork @ the very bottom) from earlier in the week, it is a meaningful R&B song that not only R&B fans will certainly enjoy, but also the casual listener. MUST-DL above! Down below, a batch of loose ends are tied up with solid trax featuring Saigon, Casely, Jagged Edge, Leona Lewis, & MORE as well as a couple videos featuring Kanye West & Craig David! Enjoy!
***UPDATE: Our buddies over @ OG Hip Hop came thru with a collection of more extensive thoughts and coverage of Kanye West’s listening party. CLICK HERE!
Above is another passionate, live performance from the superstar Kanye West! Just before the 2:30 mark and the end chorus are the two highlights of the performance… with the lowlight the constant screen time of the same teary-eyed girl.. ugh. Anyway, the performance was a sweet one which came after Kanye hosted the first listening party for 808’s & Heartbreak. The listening party featured forty nude girls, hahaha, and of course the first exposure of the entire album to a select audience. The web has started discussing it here and here and truthfully, I’m warming up to the direction of Kanye’s 808’s & Heartbreak, even though it looks like he’ll be doing more singing than rapping. Time will tell. Below, check out a bunch of NEW trax and video premieres featuring a nice one from The Cool Kids, Busta Rhymes, Talib Kweli, Trey Songz brilliantly covering another hit w/ Ryan Leslie’s “Addiction” being the culprit this time, Brandy, Chris Brown, Keri Hilson, & MORE! Enjoy!
FULL, CDQ, Track off upcoming album, Yes We Can: Voices Of A Grassroots Movement*Tibs Fav.™
Big update for ya Saturdays here, starting with 2 powerful, inspiring tracks on the album inspired by perhaps the most powerful and inspiring person in the U.S.A. today - Democratic candidate, Barack Obama! Starting it off with an original track created for the Obama album above, Malik Yusef goes spoken word and delievers nothing less than an inspiring message. Adam Levine comes through on the hook and Kanye West raps (sans autotune) with the same amount of passion as Obama has for changing our country. It is a great song with a booming beat, especially at the finale of the song. Also above is John Legend’s contribution to the album with a magnificent cover of the U2 smash-hit “Pride (In The Name Of Love)”, which certainly fits the theme of the album as well.
Down below, a bunch of very solid tracks with Mark Ronson putting a nice spin on Robin Thicke’s “Magic”, along with Wale spittin’ some clever lines as well. R&B singer Joe’s album comes out on Tuesday and another track from the CD can be had as well. Def lookin’ forward to that album. I’m also feelin’ that Murs track as it contains clear and inspiring lyrics as well - from the album, Murs For President, in stores September 30th! In the midst of the videos below, you will find the official video premiere to Ne-Yo’s “She Got Her Own (Miss Indepenent Pt. 2)” f/ Jamie Foxx & Fabolous. I’m kind of surprised he didn’t include that track on the album for Year Of The Gentleman, but my guess is they recently recorded it with not enough time for the track to make the final tracklisting. Regardless, the star power above carries the nice slow jam sequel to “Miss Independent” and the nice black & white video does the song justice. Enjoy!
Sorry for the long time between updates.. between all the work, being sick, and social events I was busy with yesterday, I was flat out exhausted to do anything until now. But it’ll all be made up next week because I also used that time to conduct a very interesting interview with a professional athlete that will be hitting GWHH sometime next week! Stay tuned!
A TON of heat in this update, starting w/ my boy Trey Songz who comes thru w/ a nice song, not unlike previous hits “Wonder Woman” and “Missin’ You”, in that it’s not really an uptempo track and not really a slow jam. It is a quality track, which is the theme of this post. GCH & Estelle hook up for a nice track as well, along with some more great rhymes coming from the Wale track (Michael Phelps and Brett Favre name-drops were real clever), more clever name-drops in the club-banger by Pitbull, & don’t forget Cassidy. I’m also feelin’ the lil’ snippet by Ne-Yo as the StarGate produced beat, along with lyrics that many can relate 2, will likely transition into another big radio hit for Ne-Yo! This is def an update where u don’t wanna skip DLing so judge for urself! Enjoy!
A bunch of HOT NEW trax for ur Sunday evening, starting w/ 2 nice ones from 2 of the 3 QUEENS of R&B 2day - Mary J. Blige & Beyoncé! (Alicia Keys being the 3rd IMO..) Mary J. covers Ciara’s “Supernatural” and displays a very powerful and beautiful voice while Mrs. Carter kills another uptempo beat that, who knows?, could be an upcoming single on her developing album. Down below, I’m feelin’ a lot more trax including parts of the “Girls Around The World (DJ Khaled RMX)” (T.I. of course), the 2 StarGate produced trax by R&B singers Mario & Dontae, & NYC rappers Fabolous and Lloyd Banks comin’ thru w/ some nice rhymes on their respective trax! Not sure if any of the trax from this update will have an enormous lasting appeal for me, but they’re all certainly enjoyable! Haha, so enjoy!
Weekend update for ya here 2day with a video trailer for the latest, hot track from Nas - “Hero”, with some clips from the upcoming movie, The Incredible Hulk as well. The track may be on the movie’s soundtrack, but it is surely on Nas’ upcoming album, now called Untitled. I definitely can’t wait for the video and the movie looks cool also (Edward Norton is sweet, but not sure I can see him as the Hulk…). Anyway, I digress.. some NEW trax below - another CHI-Town banger from Mikkey Halsted with Kanye West only on the intro. Regardless, a pretty solid track again that was recorded years ago. Also some NEW trax featuring LL Cool J, Ice Cube, Casely, and a Danity Kane request, along with a video premiere of Flo Rida’s next club banger “In The Ayer” f/ Will.I.Am! Hopefully we’ll get an installment of Old School Sundays up for ya before day’s end, but it is Father’s Day, so a special GWHH shout out 2 all the fathers out there. I just enjoyed another Cubs victory with mine. Crazy day in sports with baseball, the US Open, & Game 5 of the NBA Finals for u and ur family and friends 2 watch. Anyway, enjoy!
Enjoy a TON of new music and videos featuring some of your favorite artists! My favs of the day include an awesome snippet of a StarGate produced track by Usher that is supposedly going 2 also feature Ne-Yo on the full version! We’ll be on the lookout when the full version is leaked! I’m really feelin’ the 2 new Taio Cruz trax as well as the video for a favorite song of mine - “Get Buck In Here”! And there’s a ton of other good music and vids featuring Trey Songz, Swizz Beatz, Talib Kweli, John Legend, & MUCH MORE! Just scroll down below!
