Here’s a quick update for ya ears starting with a video of Common on top of a rooftop (hah, he did this for Finding Forever also) describing his favorite trax off the upcoming album, Universal Mind Control, which hits stores next week! Definitely an interesting view for hardcore Common fans lookin’ to get some direct insight from the artist himself about the upcoming album. Down below is a couple trax (seen @ Sean’s) that take a couple instrumentals from Lupe Fiasco’s The Cool. The first is Clipse goin’ over “Dumb It Down” and the latter is an artist named Novel hooking up with Joell Ortiz to do their version of “Fighters”. Both are real solid versions that I think you’d enjoy. Finally, you got your lil’ batch of videos featuring the likes of Consequence, Joe Budden, & upcoming G.O.O.D. Music artist, Big Sean. Enjoy!

Producer: White Boy - 2002 track off NBA Live 2003 Soundtrack*Tibs Fav.™
Here’s some NEW trax f/ Joe Budden and a slightly delayed, built-in edition of Old School Sundays! First, 3 trax from Joe Budden’s upcoming digital prequel album Halfway House were leaked. Halfway House is supposed 2 be the prequel album 2 Joe Budden’s much-talked about LP, Padded Room, 2 be released in early 2009, last I heard. The 3 trax are all very lyrical, as u should expect from Joe B., and that’s also my order from top 2 bottom of how I like it. I LOVE the beat in “Overkill” and the lyrics are the best in “Sidetracked”. I also included a rare Joe Budden goodie for Old School Sundays: the NBA Live version of one of his first hits, “Drop Drop”! That was the track that got me into Joe Budden b/c I play NBA Live religiously and couldn’t help but get hooked 2 the soundtrack. The lyrics are different in this version of “Drop Drop” since it’s NBA themed and u kno me, I appreciate that. Finally, Dead Prez has some new material comin’ out and it starts with a nice track with a message, oh, and a ridiculous beat as well. So DL the bevy of good hip hop in this post and enjoy!
Real quick video update for ya’ll, starting w/ Q-Tip! Trax comin’ later 2nite if I have time or for sure 2morrow, including a GWHH exclusive! Also check out this interesting article on Eminem’s personal life! Enjoy!
We’re leadin’ off with a real nice video/song from another one of Chicago’s fastest rising stars, Kidd Russell. Kidd Russell has opened for the likes of Common, The Roots, Nappy Roots, and GLC and with “Dear Shooter” is well on his way to making his mark in Chicago hip hop. The song is a deep one that was inspired by the Virginia Tech school shootings and was ironically recorded on the same day of the Northern Illinois school shootings in the winter of this year. The lyrics touch on gun violence and the video has been featured across the web, even on a Barack Obama site. Finally, Kidd says the song is like a cross between 2Pac’s “Dear Mama” & Eminem’s “Stan”, which I feel is an accurate description after analyzing the verses. Peep for yourself with the video above!
Down below, your daily batch of NEW trax-n-vids, starting w/ a raw hip hop track from Joe Budden and friends that goes nearly 7 minutes with words flyin’ all over the place. Clear and meaningful verses are abound so all the hip hop fans will surely love what Joe Budden & Co. have 2 offer in “Slaughterhouse”. Akon also comes thru w/ 3 more trax - a nice mid-tempo ballad w/ Keyshia Cole, the RMX 2 “I Got Paid” w/ Young Jeezy added on it (could grow on me), and a nice club-banger that adores the ladies with “Beautiful”. Also, Lil’ Flip comes thru w/ a new track and Fab adds a verse 2 “Good Lovin’”, which makes for a nice complete track as well. Finally, a bunch of video premieres below featuring Q-Tip, Lil’ Wayne, Frankie J, & MORE! Enjoy!

So this is the 3rd time that “It’s Over” has taken the top spot in a post in the past couple of weeks. (and that’s GLC in the background of that pic, much love!) Anyway, the 3rd version above is finally the CDQ version, and it takes on some substantial differences than the previous ones. For one, the quality is obviously at it’s highest and JL has a lil’ extended intro, Kanye has even more rhymes toward the end of his verse, and if I’m not mistaken, JL ad-libs a lil’ more throughout and especially in the outro. It is worth gettin’ rid of your previous versions of “It’s Over” and DL this one, especially cuz it’s just a real nice jam that keeps growing on me. Down below, more NEW trax & vids featuring Mos Def, Robin Thicke, some LQ videos of T.I.’s album release party (w/ Lupe Fiasco & Jay-Z) and much MORE! Don’t forget to vote for Consequence in the Online Hip Hop Awards @ http://www.onlinehiphopawards.com! I think you can also nominate us for some of the ‘Web’ categories, and I’ll look into that more soon. Game 1: Cubs vs. Dodgers coming up in less than 3 hours! Enjoy!
FULL, CDQ, Track off upcoming album, Yes We Can: Voices Of A Grassroots Movement*Tibs Fav.™
Big update for ya Saturdays here, starting with 2 powerful, inspiring tracks on the album inspired by perhaps the most powerful and inspiring person in the U.S.A. today - Democratic candidate, Barack Obama! Starting it off with an original track created for the Obama album above, Malik Yusef goes spoken word and delievers nothing less than an inspiring message. Adam Levine comes through on the hook and Kanye West raps (sans autotune) with the same amount of passion as Obama has for changing our country. It is a great song with a booming beat, especially at the finale of the song. Also above is John Legend’s contribution to the album with a magnificent cover of the U2 smash-hit “Pride (In The Name Of Love)”, which certainly fits the theme of the album as well.
Down below, a bunch of very solid tracks with Mark Ronson putting a nice spin on Robin Thicke’s “Magic”, along with Wale spittin’ some clever lines as well. R&B singer Joe’s album comes out on Tuesday and another track from the CD can be had as well. Def lookin’ forward to that album. I’m also feelin’ that Murs track as it contains clear and inspiring lyrics as well - from the album, Murs For President, in stores September 30th! In the midst of the videos below, you will find the official video premiere to Ne-Yo’s “She Got Her Own (Miss Indepenent Pt. 2)” f/ Jamie Foxx & Fabolous. I’m kind of surprised he didn’t include that track on the album for Year Of The Gentleman, but my guess is they recently recorded it with not enough time for the track to make the final tracklisting. Regardless, the star power above carries the nice slow jam sequel to “Miss Independent” and the nice black & white video does the song justice. Enjoy!
Sorry for the long time between updates.. between all the work, being sick, and social events I was busy with yesterday, I was flat out exhausted to do anything until now. But it’ll all be made up next week because I also used that time to conduct a very interesting interview with a professional athlete that will be hitting GWHH sometime next week! Stay tuned!
Above is the supposed video for another track from Paper Trail called “What Up”! I’m havin’ trouble playin’ videos myself right now, but I figured the top spot is nothing new 2 T.I. b/c he just scored the biggest leap in Billboard Hot 100 history with his 1st single, “Whatever You Like” jumping from #71 to #1! Congrats to T.I. & I’m real happy 2 see him up on top with a song that has really grown on me. Jyea! Down below, a few trax and vids featuring Cassidy, Saigon, Jagged Edge, Nas, The Game, Joe Budden, & many more! Enjoy!
