Startin’ off this hip hop update with a lil’ message from GemStones that summarizes the change that has enveloped the artist in the past couple years. I definitely admire his admission to his past and his willingness to move forward and spread positive messages. He says ‘09 is his year so I’d expect some major mixtapes and Troubles Of The World very soon! Down below, some solid hip hop featuring Lil’ Wayne, Twista’s sick verse on the lil’ Swagga Like Us remake, and from Chicago’s Mikkey Halsted & GLC! Definitely some MUST-see videos including the latest episode of ConsTV and the “Crash Dummie” video premiere, that could be unofficial, yet is a great look for up and coming FNFers He Say, She Say! (Shouts 2 Sean). Enjoy!
FULL, CDQ, Track off upcoming album, Universal Mind Control *Tibs Fav.™
NEW Common, comin’ w/ intelligent lyrics and a clear message (as u should expect), over an instrumental that I can see in a Nintendo game. I like a lot about this track, including the nice outro naming many influential figures throughout history and ending with a snippet from Obama’s victory speech. Speaking of “History”, Jay-Z dropped a NEW track inspired by Obama as well and the latest, full radio rip can be downloaded below along with a NEW, FULL version of the Jay Electronica / Just Blaze track that recently earned the top spot as well. In addition, peep a controversial Lupe Fiasco interview, some Kanye West live performances, and a couple video premieres featuring 50 Cent and Jim Jones! Enjoy!
Here’s an update primarily with a lot of HOT R&B for ya ears, starting off with a couple trax from Mario. “Inside Of You” is a real nice slow jam where Mario’s voice shines over the beat. It keeps with the theme in many of these R&B tracks that the strongest part of the song is the lyrics. I’m definitely feelin’ the lyrics from the 2 Mario trax above and the other *Tibs Favs.™ below, but it may not last because whether it is an uptempo or slow beat, I was not completely wowed by any of them. That said tho, a lot of lyrics here that just sum up the feelings of any type of situation that you may be able 2 relate 2 and that is perhaps the biggest appeal of the R&B genre 2 me. There’s also some hip hop below with another Empire-laden T.I. track, Cassidy, & a 50 Cent snippet! Be sure 2 scroll down for the “Love Lockdown” video premiere that Max G. beat me 2 and some Jeff Pak artwork and the return of The Five One! Enjoy!
***2:00PM - Just added this Kanye West feature below…***
Shouts 2 our boy Kev from S.L.A.B. Entertainment for comin’ thru w/ a special, GWHH exclusive by Chip Tha Ripper - a RMX of the T-Wayne hit “Can’t Believe It”! I was never a fan of the original, but I gotta respect the rhymes and flow of Chip on this one! Don’t sleep on the Cleveland bred rapper, who will be performing with Kid Cudi on Monday at the Evil Olive on Monday! Down below, some more NEW trax for ya ears featuring the “Love Lockdown” A Capella and Trey Songz killin’ yet another hit song with his cover of “What Them Girls Like”! Don’t forget the couple video premieres as well! Enjoy!
Oooh, Consequence just hit everyone w/ an e-mail as he posted a ConsTV exclusive! The video below is of him and Kanye in the studio, workin’ on 808’s & Heartbreak! Enjoy!
Producer: Omen - FULL, CDQ, Track off upcoming album, Troubles Of The World*Tibs Fav.™
Props 2 KayÇee for the FULL version of this HOT NEW track from FNF’s GemStones! Wow, I feel like everyone (myself included) can connect 2 this song on first listen. It’s got a sick, uptempo beat from Omen and the lyrics are sung clearly and beautifully from Stones and his female counterpart on this song, Chu Chu! Expect more from Gem 2 come 2 GWHH soon! Down below, ur typical batch of daily hip hop and R&B, including Ludacris’ nice verse on the “Pop Champagne RMX” that he alluded 2 in our talk with him that he used the autotune very slightly. A bunch of nice trax 2 be had, so don’t delay! Enjoy!
Expect another GWHH interview in the near future, as late as Friday! Keep checkin’ back
OH YEAH… KayCee told me Gem is opening for Lupe @ the Congress Theatre in Chicago on Halloween… SICK! Maybe Tibs and/or Max G. will be there as well!
The hip hop heads should already be familiar with the ATL’s Stat Quo, who was a rapper I first heard a few yrs ago and liked everything he was droppin. He is still with Shady/Aftermath from what I heard, but his debut album, Statlanta, has been constantly delayed and while it has apparently been completed for awhile, the label has yet 2 release it. The song above is Stat telling that story, along with other stories about his journey in the industry, Proof’s death, & more! Some pretty heartfelt lyrics attracted me right away on the 1st listen and reminded me why I liked Stat Quo in the first place. So if ur a big hip hop head, def give Stat a chance and DL 2day’s feature track above! Below, plenty more hip hop and R&B.. some thoughts on the trax below… Twista kills “The Business RMX”, Songz kills the hook on “Love For Money”, & I’m tryin’ 2 love Chris Brown’s “Captive”, but its slightly disturbing me that the song is in fact written in a girl’s perspective (a demo for the Pussycat Dolls… I can see Nicole S. on that Polow beat makin’ the radio for sure…). There’s also a couple videos featuring more from hip hop with Kidz In The Hall & Skillz! Enjoy!
N*E*R*D “Everyone Nose RMX” f/ Kanye West, Lupe Fiasco, & Pusha T
VIDEO PREMIERE!
Thanks 2 S-Preme in our Jabbify, I was able 2 catch the world premiere of the long-anticipated “Everyone Nose RMX” on BET’s 106 & Park and thx 2 Connie over @ OnSmash w/ the send-thru, we have the video online and above @ GWHH! I was expecting big things from the video and it delivered. I love the crazy, fresh effects throughout and the video game / electronic type elements illustrated, w/ everyone lookin’ and actin’ all fly throughout the video. It definitely personifies the style of N*E*R*D and its equally fresh guest features - Kanye, Lupe, & Pusha T from Clipse. I’ve also been thinking about who delivers the best verse out of the 4 in this track for quite some time now, and I’ma throw it out there that if I had 2 choose one who really really killed it, it’s Pusha T. His flow is just ridiculous over the awesome beat and people shouldn’t sleep on him w/ CRS likely overshadowing him on this song 2 the casual fan. Any thoughts on this as well? Chat or comment away! (I should note tho that Kanye, and Lupe especially shine brighter lyrically..) It’s a MUST-WATCH video so please take the time 2 check it out above! That’s all I really got for now, besides a boatload of trax and other videos for ya below! Hip hop, R&B, Underground, Mainstream, something for everyone so just check it out below! Enjoy!
So here’s a lil somethin’ different up above - instead of a feature track, check out a sweet mixtape sent over from our friends at HIP HOP UPDATE - a themed mixtape called The Sole Of Hip Hop, where they compiled some of the best trax about fresh kicks! As somewhat of a shoehead myself, and certainly Max G. is up on his shoe game, we are fans of how the sneaker culture influences hip hop and vice versa. This mixtape is a nice reminder of how the two cultures blend 2gether. Peep the tracklist by clicking on the back cover above or check out the post at HHU! Down below is ur NEW music featuring some big names like Ne-Yo, jennifer Hudson, Kanye West, Mos Def, & MORE as well as NEW videos featuring more behind the scenes looks at upcoming videos as well as a recap of the Rock The Bells concert in Chicago we attended, Lupe Fiasco on CNN, a video premiere from The Game, & Jim Jones losing his mind and dissing Nas when Nas can absolutely destroy him! Haha, enjoy!
Here are some more So Chi Cool Kids for ya ears per request, and make sure you check their interview up above. (Hahaha The Cool Kids seem unimpressed with the interviewer.) I didn’t realize, but I guess the Cool Kids kick it at tha St. Alfred’s right by my crib. St. Alfred’s is a good spot to get fly gear, and also the only spot where Lupe released his Fall Of Rome Clothing in the States.
These are some sweet 5 Fusions comin’ in April at St. Alfred’s for sure.
