Lupe Fiasco - Follow The Leader
March 26th, 2008
Lu Fresh Two 1 Two! So here are some old and new Lu tracks all off the mixtape Follow The Leader. I would peep em’ all cuz you can’t go wrong. They just reinforce Lupe Fiasco ’s ability to rap. That’s what these CHI cats do; they flip it and they twist it! (Props to Twista and Buk from Psychodrama for being the Chi pioneers that defined the CHICAGO style. Twista twists it with the crazy fast flow, while Buk flips it…pourin’ sizzurp on part of the fast rap to flip it from fast to slow to fast- That’s what we bout in the CHi….and oh yeah can’t forget bout Ye and the Cool Kids with their unique styles all heavily influenced by the city vibe.) Anyway fresh to death are all these tracks so get ‘em below, and awe at his mic skillz. Peace & Love!

The film Akira is a 1988 Japanese animated film co-written and directed by Katsuhiro Otomo based on his manga of the same name. The film is set in a neon-lit futuristic post-apocalyptic Tokyo in 2019. Much of the film was adapted from the manga read, and is considered one of the greatest animated films ever made. Check it out!

If you get the Honda Fusion, you can buy a mod for it, and install it yourself to make it “Akira-esque”, which is super dope (like the one above). I’d love to see one in tha Chi flyin’ past the AIC on Michigan Ave!

LIVE Vids For My Bday!
October 5th, 2007
Here is Eminem performing my favorite song EVER, “Lose Yourself” at the 2003 Grammys. I’ve seen Em live and this performance was different then the extremely intense encore performance he did of this classic song when I saw him. Rather, this performance, geared toward a Grammy crowd who isn’t going to be up and about to crash the stage, is a more mellow version of the song with The Roots providing the instrumentals! It works out nicely and it’s also worth mentioning that Eminem is out performing with his best friend and hype man Proof (R.I.P.), who does a great job of being a hype man by enhancing the performance and not shouting out every single word like typical hype men. It’s a chilling performance that you’ll like, guaranteed!
Here we got my boy Lupe Fiasco performing LIVE on Letterman with Jill Scott. That’s right, “Daydreamin’” - my fav. Lupe song. I’ve had this in my YouTube bookmarks for awhile and savin’ it for a rainy day. This is just a classy, top-notch performance. Jill Scott kills it and Lupe keeps it classy and I love how he’s just vibin’ and dancin’ to the music. He really feels it inside and after seeing him twice in person, I can say that he’s like that throughout!
Finally, here’s John Legend performing his biggest hit “Ordinary People”. Watch it to the end b/c the band and more piano that comes in only enhances the already sweet performance. I was lucky enough to see J. Legend live as well and he was consistently this good and on-key the whole night. It was such a treat. Anyway, hope you enjoy some of the videos of my all-time favorite hits!
