PSA Announcement f/ Usher, Will.I.Am., & a TON of Celebs (Jonah Hill is HILARIOUS)
Politics get the top spot in this post 2day as Obama graces the next cover of Vibe, but what’s really important is what follows: the Public Service Announcement from various major celebrities and musicians (Usher & Will.I.Am.) as they effectively convey how important this election is for our generation and how time is running out to register to vote! I recently jumped on board as well and will be voting in Minnesota so I can attest to the fact that it is real easy to register to vote. In fact, I did so while waiting on my roommate who was in the shower, haha. So watch the video, get more inspired, and if you are an Obama supporter, get more psyched by the STRONG words our boy Lupe Fiasco had to say about the election just the other night:
“A vote for Barack is a vote for the future, a vote for McCain is a vote for the past,” said Fiasco. He added, “Ladies and gentlemen, the most important vote is the vote for yourselves.” At this point, Lupe’s sunglasses came off and the performance became a bit more personal.
Near the end of the show, Fiasco performed what is arguably his most famous single, “Superstar.” He then entered into a lengthy dialogue with the crowd, imploring them up from the apathetic daydream that seems to be characteristic of much of our generation: “If we don’t wake up now, ladies and gentlemen, there might not be a tomorrow to wake up to. Wake up!”
That’s real passionate and just on point. Obama personifies change, and change is something this country needs for it to better itself and better our status around the world. Period.
Down below, some loose end trax and vids; not much else comments 2 add, but I’m sure u’ll find somethin’ that piques your interest. Enjoy!
Shouts 2 our boy Kev from S.L.A.B. Entertainment for comin’ thru w/ a special, GWHH exclusive by Chip Tha Ripper - a RMX of the T-Wayne hit “Can’t Believe It”! I was never a fan of the original, but I gotta respect the rhymes and flow of Chip on this one! Don’t sleep on the Cleveland bred rapper, who will be performing with Kid Cudi on Monday at the Evil Olive on Monday! Down below, some more NEW trax for ya ears featuring the “Love Lockdown” A Capella and Trey Songz killin’ yet another hit song with his cover of “What Them Girls Like”! Don’t forget the couple video premieres as well! Enjoy!
Oooh, Consequence just hit everyone w/ an e-mail as he posted a ConsTV exclusive! The video below is of him and Kanye in the studio, workin’ on 808’s & Heartbreak! Enjoy!
Some more quick hip hop for ya eyes & ears before I head off 2 work… with the latest video premiere featuring the talented Alfamega & the king of da south - T.I. above! And below, some hard trax by The Game, Ice Cube, & Young Dro! I’m not that into any of them truthfully, with the Young Dro track actually having a catchy hook. The hip hop fans who like the hard sound will certainly enjoy The Game & Ice Cube’s trax. Enjoy!
Honestly, I’m feelin’ this NEW track from our boy S-Preme more than anything else below. There’s nothing special below, so if u choose one track 2 DL 2day, make it the one above by the up and coming Chicago workaholic, S-Preme! It’s a fresh, fresh track with a unique beat and S-Preme changing styles and flows throughout. He got me immediately with his lil’ intro transition into the first verse that was just dope. Takes a couple listens 2 fully grasp the lyrics/punchlines (rectum one was great) and finally, he goes ridiculous in the last 30 seconds or so. Another professional track by S-Preme above, who deserves 2 keep blowin’ up! Below, like I said, nothin’ special, but some big names like Young Jeezy, Ice Cube, Ne-Yo, Joe, & MORE as well as some interesting videos 2 peep! Enjoy!
Check out our boy Bullet with a mention in the upcoming issue of Source! This is a big deal for one of our rappers we’ve helped launch here at Gowhere Hip Hop and we’re happy 2 see him get the pub he deserves! Watch out for his upcoming album, Back To The Lyrics, on July 29th! Down below is a bunch more NEW trax featuring Chicago’s own, Rhymefest, Lil’ Wayne, Ice Cube, and R&B f/ R. Kelly, Avant, One Chance, Donnie Klang, & MANY MORE! There’s also some videos 2 peep with the latest premiere from Taio Cruz, Lupe Fiasco performing @ the ESPYs (supposedly he was performing throughout the night, during the breaks.. def shoulda got more air time tho..), and Will Ferrell accepting Tiger Woods’ ESPY for Best Male Athlete from Justin Timberlake! Hahaha, simply hilarious. Enjoy!
Stay tuned for some Rock The Bells pictures and updates from Max G. & I - we’re workin’ on it 2gether as we speak!
Producer: Bangladesh - Another “A Milli RMX” (2:31)
A boatload of NEW trax 2day, with the feature track actually being an incomplete one, haha. The latest track (supposedly) from the upcoming album, Year Of The Gentleman - in stores August 5th, has been released in snippet form. It’s produced by StarGate. Some of you may already be familiar with this equation.. Ne-Yo + StarGate = Awesome. And this one sounds like no exception with Ne-Yo dropping some pretty nice lyrics so far on the high quality (not CDQ) snippet. I’ll be excited when that full version leaks and it’ll be up on GWHH when it does! Ne-Yo is also the 79,139,322nd artist 2 jump on “A Milli” so I figure I’d post that… not really feelin’ it honestly, haha. Below is a bunch of R&B and hip hop as I’m mainly liking the R&B, especially the latest trax from Colby O’Donis, Francisco, and Timbaland’s brother Sebastian (NOT the R&B Sebastian, the Sebastian on the extended version of “The Way I Are”). DL above & below! Enjoy!
Weekend update for ya here 2day with a video trailer for the latest, hot track from Nas - “Hero”, with some clips from the upcoming movie, The Incredible Hulk as well. The track may be on the movie’s soundtrack, but it is surely on Nas’ upcoming album, now called Untitled. I definitely can’t wait for the video and the movie looks cool also (Edward Norton is sweet, but not sure I can see him as the Hulk…). Anyway, I digress.. some NEW trax below - another CHI-Town banger from Mikkey Halsted with Kanye West only on the intro. Regardless, a pretty solid track again that was recorded years ago. Also some NEW trax featuring LL Cool J, Ice Cube, Casely, and a Danity Kane request, along with a video premiere of Flo Rida’s next club banger “In The Ayer” f/ Will.I.Am! Hopefully we’ll get an installment of Old School Sundays up for ya before day’s end, but it is Father’s Day, so a special GWHH shout out 2 all the fathers out there. I just enjoyed another Cubs victory with mine. Crazy day in sports with baseball, the US Open, & Game 5 of the NBA Finals for u and ur family and friends 2 watch. Anyway, enjoy!
Producer: The Neptunes - FULL, CDQ, 1st Single from upcoming album, Invincible Summer*Tibs Fav.
Back from Minny w/ Max G. with a bunch of NEW trax! Above is the long anticipated (at least for me) CDQ version of Common’s “Universal Mind Control” f/ Pharrell. The Neptunes’ beat creates such a different sound than we are used 2 for Common, one that will definitely take getting used 2 with this song, and perhaps on his upcoming album, Invincible Summer. Either way, definitely a MUST-DL for ur collection! For all our Chicago readers, Common will be one act at DePaul University this Friday for only $10. That’s all the details I know, but I’m sure there is more info 2 be found and u mite run into Max G. & I there, haha. The rest of the NEW trax below are pretty solid featuring some big names like Trey Songz, R. Kelly, Ciara, & MUCH MORE! Scroll, Peep, DL, Enjoy!
***NEW Link*** FULL, CDQ, Track off upcoming album, Rising Down *Tibs Fav.
OMG! Please do ur ears a favor and DL the NEW Roots track above! Such a unique sound, great verses, even greater chorus to hook u in on 1st listen and I officially can’t wait until April 29th when Rising Down hits stores (as well as Estelle’s Shine and GTA4, which my roomy is getting, haha!) But yeah, just ridiculous. Anyway, a TON of NEW content for ya below, some dating back 2 Monday even, as we were quite busy typing up the GemStones Interview and putting the finishing touches on our NEW-Look site (thx for the love everyone!). But yeah, check out the latest trax from The Cool Kids, Talib Kweli, Eminem & D12, and some R&B f/ R. Kelly, Jamie Foxx & MORE! Also a bunch of videos for ur viewing pleasure while u wait 2 DL the trax… Alicia Keys (looking quite beautiful I might add - sweet vid), The Roots, Kidz In The Hall, & an interesting Kanye West video! Enjoy!
Finally, as another special thanks to Brian for helping us set up what you see before you, DL a recent (Yes, I know it’s been out for a lil bit…) track by 2 of his favorite artists of all-time - Mariah Carey & R. Kelly with the “Touch My Body RMX” Haha! Enjoy!
Wow! U kno us Chicago boys got excited when Kanye dropped these first look pics on his blog of his next video “Homecoming”! That’s especially a crazy pic of ‘Ye and the Bean at Millennium Park, love it and can’t wait for the vid… coming soon! Also peep the NEW collabo of 3 of hip hop’s legends - Ice Cube, Scarface, & Nas “Gangsta Rap Made Me Do It RMX” - with updated lyrics that relate 2 the times 2day! It’s def a cool track for all us hip hop heads! Enjoy!
Also wanted 2 pass along some Billboard Hot 100 news for ya - Usher’s latest hit “Love In This Club” f/ Young Jeezy has jumped from 51 all the way to NUMBER 1! Ridiculous. U kno that’s goin 2 be up there for awhile, congrats 2 him as well as 2 our boy Lupe Fiasco as “Superstar” has reached #11 on the Billboard Hot 100, rising one spot from last week. Who knows? Maybe Lupe’s first top 10 hit?! Never thought it would get this high tho! Awesome. Let’s wait & see! Back round noon for another update, pz!
