More trax (some that I missed again from the weekend), but now I’m all caught up. Truthfully, most of them is in one ear, out the other while I was multitasking and lookin’ for a cool pic of T.I. (and found one where he’s sporting the same mini goatee that I’ve been rockin’… jyea!) “On Top Of The World” is from Paper Trail and this “RMX” has an added verse from B.O.B. The song in general is growing on me and it’s definitely worth the preview/DL 2 check out the new verse (that is at the beginning also). Other than that, nothin’ really caught me on 1st listen other then some of Mic Terror’s clever lines about what he would do if he were God. That’s a solid track from the Chicago rapper for sure! Some NEW hip hop and R&B for ya ears with The Game headlining this post, comin’ thru w/ a deep, lyrical slow jam (hip hop slow jam.. not R&B slow jam, haha.) Definitely some thought-provoking lines in there, and of course the prerequisite double digit name-drops in the track, but at least it comes off more clever than annoying in this case. Down below, some T.I. trax that I didn’t really dig, esp the RMXs where I felt Trina, Foxy Brown, & Rick Ross didn’t add anything 2 the respective trax. And finally, R&B fans will enjoy the latest from Johnta Austin & Israel! I’m feelin’ “Killing Me” a lil’ more from the Filipino singer (represent!). Oh, and I didn’t forget… Luda said in the conference call last week that the video for “Undisputed” would drop this week and there it is @ the bottom! Def lookin’ forward 2 Theatre Of The Mind in November, but I think fellow ATLien T.I. will more than hold me over w/ Paper Trail, which I’m waking up early for 2morrow! Jyea! Enjoy!
Shouts 2 Bullet for sendin’ this thru this morning, another HOT track featuring himself and another Chi rapper from his crew, Lottery! The lyrics are really on point and are emphasized by their flow as they slow it down, which matches a beat that’s more mellow than a banger. Def check that out above as well as a couple trax f/ another virtually unknown Chicago rapper, DP Da Phranchise. “The City” f/ GemStones has been out for almost 6 months now, but the CDQ version just hit the web via RubyHornet as well as another track from DP’s upcoming mixtape.
And be sure 2 check out some more hip hop below f/ Lil’ Wayne (who recites the entire alphabet… still baffles me how ppl think he’s the GOAT), Gym Class Heroes, Cassidy, Lloyd Banks, and Young Buck and the latest video premiere from the singer, Brandy! Enjoy!

Some NEW R&B trax for ya ears with the feature coming from Ryan Leslie above! It sounds similar 2 the original “Diamond Girl”, with that same scratchy, yet catchy beat which makes for a pretty unique song that I’m feelin. I would think that by seeing Chris Brown & Bryan-Michael Cox 2gether that it would be an automatic *Tibs Fav.™ but there’s just 2 much going on in the chorus that it’s hard 2 follow, I’m not feelin’ the B. Cox joint like I usually do, and it just sounds overall a lil corny and formulaic for me. Maybe it’ll grow on me, who knows, but on first listens, I couldn’t get into it. (Shouts 2 our aff. Urban Music for those exclusives..) Some other solid trax u can peep below, but also the behind the scenes look at CRS’ first video for the “Everyone Nose RMX”! I’m psyched, can definitely see that record takin’ off. Quite frankly, the excitement level for upcoming CRS songs and videos is on par with my excitement for Derrick Rose on the hometown Bulls, which as u may know already, is thru the roof! A ton of NEW trax in 2day’s update, but the feature track is a type of track that you are likely familiar with already - a Mash-Up! I personally LOVE Mash-Ups, but most of them are not that good. The one above is an exception as the Casely vocals on his hit single “Emotional” is combined with Ne-Yo’s hook and StarGate’s beat on the soon-2-be hit single “Closer”. It offers listeners a NEW take on both songs and I personally like it a lot. DL above and judge for yourself. Below, you can find the various NEW R&B and hip hop, but the Ghostface Killah “Charlie Brown RMXs” warrant some mentioning. It’s a series of 4 trax that was sent 2 a select few of us 2 share by 4 different DJs remixing the song by the Wu Tang Clan member. I sincerely enjoy all 4 as they all have a completely different sound from one another and you should check those out as well. I also put up the “Flashing Lights RMX” f/ R. Kelly that was requested, but I could not locate one without all the DJ shoutouts. Still a good track tho if u are a fan of either. Enjoy!
Sorry I couldn’t get these songs up earlier… I’ve been real busy with going home for the weekend and now back in school and in the studio (arch. - not recording, haha) non-stop. Anyway, here are 3 Trey Songz featured songs that have been released the past week.. maybe few days. I’m really feelin’ the “Bed” Remix as the original version is already no. 5 on the Billboard charts. I’d also like to add that Trey Songz has a SWEET Gilbert Arenas line in the Drake song,
“Let me fill the arena, I’ll be Gilbert Arenas, somethin’ like a Wizard when I give you what I give ya, when I give you what I give ya…”
His rhymes (yes, Trey Songz raps also) are actually all pretty nice on this track with a “Matrix” reference also. But anyway, if you know me, you know I’m a huge fan of Gilbert Arenas, so while I’m here and since we’re all getting hyped for the new NBA season (check out the Celtics video posted below by gowhere?) check out another blog all dedicated to Gilbert Arenas that I check out daily.
