An odd, slow start for Monday but here’s some R&B trax for ya ears with Day26 comin’ thru with a nice, catchy slow jam that might strike a pleasing chord w/ ya. A ton of Ne-Yo has been released recently and below is another solid track from the singer, but the beat brings it down for me. I guess it could grow on me as well, but we’ll see. And finally, I figure I would pass along a short snippet from Keri Hilson & Timbaland, which sounds like it can be a promising duet a la “Promiscuous”! Check it out and chat about it with JABBIFY in the bottom right hand corner! Enjoy!
A bunch of hip hop for ya’ll 2day on this Sunday with Joe Budden & Obie Trice sounding off on the industry and their situations in some pretty deep trax. Budden just goes off on the 5+ minute track, still going as the beat fades out, and he shares some details on the industry that he can see through the artist’s eyes and name-drops plenty of fellow rappers 2 paint a clear picture. It’s straight up ridiculous. Obie comes thru with a solid track describing the fallout after his breakup with Shady Records. Busta Rhymes releases his version of “A Milli”… before u hate.. I didn’t mean that exactly b/c he simply grabbed “A Milli” producer Bangladesh 2 create a similar beat for an original song that could grow on me, but I know many ppl will enjoy on first listen. You can also peep the rest of the trax below with a Kardinal Offishall banger, Lil’ Wayne, Trey Songz, Day26, & MORE! Enjoy!
Here’s a clip of a speech by Lupe Fiasco stressing how hip hop belongs and people will be entertained by hip hop as much as rock or whatever other genre. It’s a nice lil’ clip with the crowd going nuts. Head over 2 lupEND for downloads of the speech and performance and peep the small blurb on BET about his performance that is the biggest news of Lu’s performance in the U.K. last night…
“During his set at the Glastonbury Festival in the U.K. last night, rapper Lupe Fiasco spoke out about “tyrannical world leaders”, clumping Zimbabwe’s longtime dictator and the American president in the same category “F*@K Robert Mugabe, F*@K George Bush,” he said. F*@k politics, democrats, socialists, the Labor party. Music’s what it’s all about.” It’s likely there won’t be any blowback from his American fans for his comment considering the current political climate. But remember just a few years ago the Country music group, Dixie Chicks, were bashed for much milder comments they made about the President in the U.K. Fiasco drew an excited crowd to his performance which included his hits “The Cool,” “Food and Liquor,” “Hip Hop Saved My Life” and ‘Kick Push.’”
Wow, some strong words then from Lupe Fiasco and more power 2 him. He’s truly a strong and passionate artist as u can tell above and in his music. Down below, check out a few NEW trax, with my favorite of the bunch being the NEW version of “Diamond Girl” including a better, less repetitive beat than the original. Definitely a MUST-HAVE for the R&B fans! Peep the rest of the trax below and the Day26 video premiere! Enjoy!
FULL, CDQ, Rumored track from upcoming album, No Man *Tibs Fav.™
The feature track above is from an underappreciated R&B star - Joe, who is definitely well known but should shine brighter because of his talented voice. The song above displays that over a new-age R&B beat that we’re all used 2 by now. The lyrics have some nice metaphors that make the song a unique one that R&B fans will think is fresh. Definitely a track 2 add 2 ur R&B collection, as well as the Sterling Simms (and StarGate produced) track below called “Eyes”. And Robin Thicke kills the chorus of the Eve track below, which is set to an ominous beat that isn’t typical of R&B. Also below, check out the latest from The Game, which is an interesting song that might grow on me featuring Travis Barker and the latest from G-Unit as “You So Tough” is the track that 50 Cent disses T.I. on in the 3rd verse.
2 follow up on the Shaq dissing Kobe freestyle, the hilarious news story of the day is that a sheriff wants Shaq 2 return his badges with the reason being Shaq’s foul language in this remarkable huge (and overblown) freestyle, dissing Kobe Bryant, as well as NBA legends Patrick Ewing and Kareem Abdul-Jabaar. Finally, there are a few videos below including the premiere of Jennifer Hudson’s first single “Spotlight” and live performances from Diddy’s crews of Day26 & Danity Kane! Enjoy!
Producer: The Neptunes - Freestyle over the Common single, “Universal Mind Control” *Tibs Fav.™
LARGE update here so here’s some thoughts… first and foremost, Bullet.. straight up stepping his game up. DL his ridiculous freestyle of Common’s latest single “Universal Mind Control”. Perfect beat for Bullet 2 shine on with his fast, twisted Chicago flow and they got creative with chopping up his voice in a couple instances. (Not 2 mention Common killed this as well…) He’s on the verge of being the next big thing out of the Chi so don’t sleep. Below, a TON of NEW trax f/ the long-awaited return of Lil’ Wayne on “A Milli”, celebrating his million copies sold of Tha Carter III in the first week. Some more big names of hip hop and R&B featured below like Nas, The Game, Day26 as well as quality trax from some lesser known names like Mickey Factz & The Cool Kids, Dwele, & perhaps my favorite song from the batch below, “Can’t Do Without Ya” by R&B singer, Francisco! Scroll below and you’ll find somethin’ u like and u can also check out some videos featuring Bun B, The Roots, Bobby Valentino, & MORE below! Enjoy!
And for all u Chicago visitors, GemStones is throwin’ a bday bash and mixtape release party TONIGHT!! All the info is on the flyer at the very bottom with GemStones himself performing at midnite (along with some FNF friends, maybe Lupe??). Thanks 2 KayCee and hopefully Max G. & I will be there 2 see ya there! Also, last-minute addition of the K-Salaam & Beatnick RMX of Common’s “Go” & Lil’ Wayne “On Me” that u can DL below (spotted @ HHU)! Enjoy!
Here’s a quick early update for u dedicated GWHH fans featuring R&B by the classy Ryan Leslie above. Put him on a piano and let him sing from the heart about his mother and u get a nice slow jam that u can DL above! I also like the Charlie Wilson (frequent Snoop Dogg collaborator) track below and a couple solid trax from Robert (Of Day26). 2 follow up on yesterday’s hit “Everyone Nose RMX” by N.E.R.D., Ye, Lu, and Pusha T… check out the video at the bottom for a behind the scenes look in the studio of the making of the RMX! Enjoy!
Wow, step away from the comp for a few hrs and all this heat of the summer is droppin! 3 NEW Usher trax above, all sweet as usual - “Echo” prolly my favorite of the day… scroll 2 the post below for 2 more if ya missed them. Chris Brown comes thru again with a real sick track called “Last 2 Know”, Day26 over another B. Cox joint and a Gnarls Barkley video premiere! I would say more but I gotta run… just DL the trax - they’re all must-haves for u R&B fans! Enjoy!
Above is a HOT, NEW track from our boy Chip Tha Ripper, freestyling over the recent Weezy track “A Millie”. Chip is up on his current events with a nice mention of Big Ben Wallace, a recent aquisition 2 his hometown Cleveland Cavaliers. As an NBA nut, I noticed that right away along with his Carmelo Anthony drop, haha. Def worth a DL 2 see what the best from Cleveland has 2 offer. Speaking of Weezy, there’s another Lil’ Wayne track that hit the net along with a Ne-Yo feature, and a Mariah Carey request! We got a NEW video by the Speedknot Mobstaz & Twista (CHI-Town stand up!). Thx 2 the homey Clyde for the heads-up! Finally, I posted a couple links 2 my favorite BET Spring Break performance videos from Lupe Fiasco & Day26 so peep them below and enjoy!
Enjoy a bunch of videos for 2day as our boy Lupe Fiasco performs “Paris, Tokyo” LIVE for the lucky people spending spring break in Panama City Beach, Florida with MTV. They get a special treat as well since Matthew Santos jumped on the chorus a couple of times and really enhanced the performance. Lupe was Lupe as usual, lookin’ quite fly while doin’ it 2. Below, are a couple more LIVE performance videos featuring Day26, a Will.I.Am. video premiere, and an interesting interview with the legendary Pete Rock! Enjoy!
Another Kanye West listening experience video! He’s been releasing them every so often now and here’s another one to “Barry Bonds”! Below is a funny video of Lupe Fiasco & Chris Brown freestyling and some more of the day’s NEW music! Not 2 much time 2 chat, got some work 2 do, haha. Enjoy!
