Lupe Fiasco “Intro” + “Kick, Push” LIVE @ Lollapalooza
Rhymefest “Brand New” LIVE @ Lollapalooza
The Cool Kids Interview @ Lollapalooza
Lollapalooza just wrapped up this weekend - a 3 day music festival featuring over 100 artists, including Chicago heavyweights, Kanye West, Lupe Fiasco, Rhymefest, & The Cool Kids. Some videos of the performances have surfaced the net and u can see them above, especially if you missed the show. Unfortunately, I was unable 2 attend w/ work all weekend so I personally can’t tell u how it was, but the lucky people who were there have been sharing nothing but great reviews! Above, Kanye kills “Put On”, Lupe Fiasco does some pushups, stretching, and even a backflip before launching into “Kick, Push” (haha, that’s great), Rhymefest destroys the stage with “Brand New”, & definitely check out the high quality interview with Mikey Rocks from The Cool Kids where u can learn more about the artist himself and his excitement 2 be @ Lollapalooza! Down below, check out a few trax, especially the rapper K-Smith & R&B singer Mario with their collaboration “Human Nature”. K-Smith drops a few nice lines with Mario sounding awesome over that beat. The Lloyd, U.K. Bonus Track is also somethin’ both R&B and hip hop fans would like! Enjoy!
Producer: Cool & Dre & The Game - FULL, CDQ, Track off upcoming album, Untitled, in stores 07.15 *Tibs Fav.™
Aite, so Nas’ upcoming album, Untitled, has been leaked by now and tons of trax have been available everywhere, in addition 2 the ones that have appeared on GWHH. If u want the whole album, I’m sure u can browse our affiliates and find it, but since we don’t post full albums on GWHH and try 2 limit the amount of trax also, I figured I would just post 1 more goodie for ya’ll that wanna sample or wait til 07.15… and it’s Nas’ unique collaboration with The Game & Chris Brown! It may sound surprising, but it’s a very quality track with Nas & The Game ripping over a ridiculous Cool & Dre beat, with CB enhancing the track throughout (listen and you’ll see what I mean..). Def a MUST-DL and I can see the track blowin’ up as a 2nd single with the appealing names and production involved. Below, we’re playing catch-up with 16 trax total from the past few days (since we let the Kidz In The Hall interview and Mr. Music get the well-deserved, extended spotlight) featuring a ton of big names. A few thoughts… Usher track is RIDICULOUS… pretty sure that’s a snippet but it’s a 2:51 long snippet, if that, and it’s HOT! Also, u may notice the same song by Lloyd and Sterling Simms, and well, that’s cuz it is… it’s just a different singer for each version. The early edge goes 2 Sterling IMO, but I’ll need a few more listens. Other than that, u can peep my favs below and I’m sure u’ll find somethin’ u like, in addition 2 the video premiere of Lil’ Wayne’s “A Milli”! Enjoy!
And in some bad news, fellow blogger gowhere? cannot access GWHH where he is staying in China because he’s in a restricted area or something like that. So unfortunately, it looks like we won’t be getting the unique posts from gowhere? until mid-August when he’s finally back in the States. But u kno Max G. & myself will be holdin’ it down for ya!
12:10PM - Just upped “Swing Your Rag” by T.I., produced by Swizz Beatz (formerly known as “Louis Rag”). It’s the clean version, but the previous version was littered w/ shout outs. Def update ur iTunes w/ this one below. Shouts 2 Z for sending this thru!
FULL, CDQ, Rumored track from upcoming album, No Man *Tibs Fav.™
The feature track above is from an underappreciated R&B star - Joe, who is definitely well known but should shine brighter because of his talented voice. The song above displays that over a new-age R&B beat that we’re all used 2 by now. The lyrics have some nice metaphors that make the song a unique one that R&B fans will think is fresh. Definitely a track 2 add 2 ur R&B collection, as well as the Sterling Simms (and StarGate produced) track below called “Eyes”. And Robin Thicke kills the chorus of the Eve track below, which is set to an ominous beat that isn’t typical of R&B. Also below, check out the latest from The Game, which is an interesting song that might grow on me featuring Travis Barker and the latest from G-Unit as “You So Tough” is the track that 50 Cent disses T.I. on in the 3rd verse.
2 follow up on the Shaq dissing Kobe freestyle, the hilarious news story of the day is that a sheriff wants Shaq 2 return his badges with the reason being Shaq’s foul language in this remarkable huge (and overblown) freestyle, dissing Kobe Bryant, as well as NBA legends Patrick Ewing and Kareem Abdul-Jabaar. Finally, there are a few videos below including the premiere of Jennifer Hudson’s first single “Spotlight” and live performances from Diddy’s crews of Day26 & Danity Kane! Enjoy!
Weekend update for ya here 2day with a video trailer for the latest, hot track from Nas - “Hero”, with some clips from the upcoming movie, The Incredible Hulk as well. The track may be on the movie’s soundtrack, but it is surely on Nas’ upcoming album, now called Untitled. I definitely can’t wait for the video and the movie looks cool also (Edward Norton is sweet, but not sure I can see him as the Hulk…). Anyway, I digress.. some NEW trax below - another CHI-Town banger from Mikkey Halsted with Kanye West only on the intro. Regardless, a pretty solid track again that was recorded years ago. Also some NEW trax featuring LL Cool J, Ice Cube, Casely, and a Danity Kane request, along with a video premiere of Flo Rida’s next club banger “In The Ayer” f/ Will.I.Am! Hopefully we’ll get an installment of Old School Sundays up for ya before day’s end, but it is Father’s Day, so a special GWHH shout out 2 all the fathers out there. I just enjoyed another Cubs victory with mine. Crazy day in sports with baseball, the US Open, & Game 5 of the NBA Finals for u and ur family and friends 2 watch. Anyway, enjoy!
“Happy flowers for the lady keeps the monster away”
Yeahh… so this one is brand spankin’ new and one of my favs from the boy James Grady! I love the metaphor and the violent Mickey. Pretty G. Also some G tracks below. SaWeet!
Also in other news GWHH Designer Max G. designs the invites/etc. for Perez Hilton’s One Night In Toronto. The event which is thrown by Perez Hilton, sponsored by Calvin Klein, and presented by BMF Media will be off the chain including special guests Simple Plan! This after party to the Much Music awards is sure to be crawling with many hot celebs, but unfortunately is invite only!
On July 22, 1934, FBI agents shot John Dillinger, public enemy No. 1, at 10:30 p.m. in an alley by the Biograph Theater at 2433 N. Lincoln Avenue Chicago, IL. I just got back from being on the film set in Lincoln Park where they transformed the very same Lincoln Ave to look exactly like it did in the OLD SCHOOL 1930’s! Johnny Depp was there doing a million retakes of the scene where he (John Dillinger) gets shot in the alley. There was no detail overlooked on the set; even the theater is the very theater the actual John Dillinger got shot at. I heard that day, coppers dabbed their hanker chiefs in Dillingers blood as a souvenir from such a notorious criminal. (No sign of Christian Bale….) The movie “Public Enemies” is due to come out sometime 2009, shining light on some infamous 1930’s Chicago History. (Christian Bale, Johnny Depp, Chicago old school Gangsters, partly filmed in Chicago, w/ Michael Mann directing! Can you get any better than that? No, no you can’t.)
For some music, Shout to DJ Triumph for the must listen remixes below; I usually don’t like DJ RMX’s, but I have to say Triumph did an exceptional job with the two below. Check that, and more out below!
Also going w/ the old school theme check Aubrey O’ Day of Danity Kane cover the 1 Year Anniversary Issue of J’Adore Magazine. Shout to J’Adore; very well done issue, and Aubrey looks very beautiful as well. (She should be in the movie, “Public Enemies” haha)
R&B fans rejoice! My boy, DJ B-Bop just came thru with his latest mixtape, spotlighting the best of the underground R&B crooners on the come-up, mixed with some established stars like Ryan Leslie, Craig David, The Dream, Taio Cruz, & MORE - all blended beautifully 2gether for ur listening pleasure! I’ma bump this a lot for sure and get my ears familiar with some of these virtual unknown R&B singers, and u should 2 cuz maybe you’ll find someone new that u like! I got thru it once already and its got my overwhelming approval; any R&B fan would enjoy this so DL it below! Just in time for ur finals and the beginning of a HOT summer!! Special thanks 2 the fella DJ B-Bop for the love! Enjoy!
Above is the latest production from the fellas at Rogue Lion Films as they made a video for one of my favorite Alicia Keys tracks, “Where Do We Go From Here”! The directing and editing really stand out and the concept of the video also plays out nicely at the end! Judge for yourself above and visit their MySpace HERE!
Below are some performance videos from Day26, Danity Kane, Donnie J., & Diddy and you can also DL the latest trax from Day26, Donnie J., One Chance, Trey Songz, & Rich Boy below! Enjoy!
Check the video PREMIERE 2 one of my early favorites of 2008 - “Got Me Going” by Day26! Their NEW, self-titled debut album will be in stores on Tuesday! I’m pretty excited for that, especially on the strength of the above 1st single! Peep the NEW trax below that are available for download, u knooooowwww! That Rakim track has got that raw sound, def a MUST-DL! Enjoy! Rakim “I’m Back” f/ Lil’ Fame
Producer: Malay & P. Diddy - FULL, CDQ, Track off upcoming self-titled debut album in stores 03.25.08 *Tibs Fav.
Diddy would be happy with 2day’s update, haha. A lot of NEW trax from the winners in Making The Band, including the hot collaboration from all 3! Above is the latest from Day26; really lookin’ forward 2 that album. Below is a bonus track from Danity Kane’s album, in stores next Tuesday, and that is the colabo with Day26 & Donnie Klang There is another solo track by Donnie Klang, but my boy Dj MiniMaxX and I think it’s just the chorus looped together - either way, hot chorus, even hotter beat! Diddy and the crew spend top dollar for the game’s hottest producers and it’s really showing. Finally, some more NEW trax from Casely & Rich Boy and a Flo Rida & Girl Talk request! Enjoy!
UPDATE (03.25.08): Donnie J. is now Donnie Klang, Bryan-Michael Cox did NOT produce “I’m The Reason”, AND “Ain’t Going” is a hidden track off of Day26’s album, not Danity Kane’s.
