Nas “Make The World Go Round” f/ The Game & Chris Brown
VIDEO PREMIERE!
Ton of video premieres for ya eyes and ears this afternoon, starting with one of my favorite records of the year - “Make The World Go Round” by Nas f/ The Game & Chris Brown! This is definition of a G’d up video as all three artists are shinin’ and lookin’ fly. There are some very strong visuals from the Caribbean to Compton and the riches are definitely on full display throughout. Solid video for an even better track, although if I was in charge I would have had Chris Brown leading a choreographed dance with Nas and Game trying hard to follow, haha. In all seriousness tho, Chris Brown leans against a nice glass table but its not necessary for him 2 break it down in every video, especially for a hip hop single like this one that he is featured on. Down below, a few nice trax with Trey Songz covering Snoop Dogg, Frankie J comin’ through with a real nice R&B track produced by Danja and Lil’ Wayne and The Roots performing “A Milli” LIVE from Orlando last nite! Oh, and did I mention there’s a ton of video premieres? Peep ‘em all below! Enjoy!
Kanye West Performs “Heartless” LIVE In L.A. (With T.I.)
Wow. Much thanks to Consequence for sendin’ everybody out one of the most insane exclusive footage that he and ConsTV has ever gotten (and that’s arguable actually, believe it or not) - Kanye West joining T.I. at the MySpace show in Los Angeles! So get this: Cons is chillin’ backstage with Kanye, straight up in the zone, gettin’ ready to surprise the SoCal crowd when he comes through with his verse from “Swagga Like Us” after T.I.’s verse. And damn, I got chills just watchin’ Kanye join T.I. on stage so I can’t even begin 2 imagine how the L.A. crowd felt. So with the crowd going bonkers, Kanye continued with “Love Lockdown” which sounded great live and the fans were singin’ word for word. And finally, he launches into the first edition of “Heartless” with a beat in front of the live crowd. He cut it after a lil’ bit, but from what I heard, I’m really feelin’ that chorus! Kanye’s next album, 808’s & Heartbreak will hit stores November 25th and it doesn’t look like it’ll get pushed back! Enjoy!
Producer: Dela - FULL, CDQ, Track off upcoming album, Changes Of Atmosphere*Tibs Fav.™
The above track is all Talib spittin’ on a nice, slow, simple beat from Dela, which of course allows Talib to spray some clear wisdom and even attack “lullaby rappers”, a term I would love 2 adopt now, haha. Def a good hip hop track for ya ears. Down below, mainly R&B (or Pop&B), including the next T-Pain single with pop star and frequent collaborator, Chris Brown. I’m not really feelin’ it - autotune 2 the max here, but I’m sure it’s somethin’ that won’t sound bad in a club setting. (Just a thought… “One Nite Girl” by LA & Mr. Music above simply BLOWS “Freeze” away.. prolly a biased thought, but one that I’m sure many of you will agree with…) Anyway, more videos below as well with a Luda feature premiere, ConsTV’s latest installment, and Sarah Silverman hilariously endorsing Barack Obama! (Shouts 2 Urban Music & HHU for a few of the trax & their continued support!) Enjoy!
FULL, CDQ, Track off upcoming album, Evolver*Tibs Fav.™
So this is the 3rd time that “It’s Over” has taken the top spot in a post in the past couple of weeks. (and that’s GLC in the background of that pic, much love!) Anyway, the 3rd version above is finally the CDQ version, and it takes on some substantial differences than the previous ones. For one, the quality is obviously at it’s highest and JL has a lil’ extended intro, Kanye has even more rhymes toward the end of his verse, and if I’m not mistaken, JL ad-libs a lil’ more throughout and especially in the outro. It is worth gettin’ rid of your previous versions of “It’s Over” and DL this one, especially cuz it’s just a real nice jam that keeps growing on me. Down below, more NEW trax & vids featuring Mos Def, Robin Thicke, some LQ videos of T.I.’s album release party (w/ Lupe Fiasco & Jay-Z) and much MORE! Don’t forget to vote for Consequence in the Online Hip Hop Awards @ http://www.onlinehiphopawards.com! I think you can also nominate us for some of the ‘Web’ categories, and I’ll look into that more soon. Game 1: Cubs vs. Dodgers coming up in less than 3 hours! Enjoy!
Shouts 2 our boy Kev from S.L.A.B. Entertainment for comin’ thru w/ a special, GWHH exclusive by Chip Tha Ripper - a RMX of the T-Wayne hit “Can’t Believe It”! I was never a fan of the original, but I gotta respect the rhymes and flow of Chip on this one! Don’t sleep on the Cleveland bred rapper, who will be performing with Kid Cudi on Monday at the Evil Olive on Monday! Down below, some more NEW trax for ya ears featuring the “Love Lockdown” A Capella and Trey Songz killin’ yet another hit song with his cover of “What Them Girls Like”! Don’t forget the couple video premieres as well! Enjoy!
Oooh, Consequence just hit everyone w/ an e-mail as he posted a ConsTV exclusive! The video below is of him and Kanye in the studio, workin’ on 808’s & Heartbreak! Enjoy!

Here’s a couple unofficial “Love Lockdown” RMXs courtesy of some close friends of the GWHH fam, S-Preme & Dj MiniMaxX! First off, S-Preme was on some Red Bull shit last nite and just started talkin’ silly over Kanye’s latest single…and still killed it. Some freshness 2 “Love Lockdown” is found at the end there, so listen 2 that all the way thru. Also, Dj MiniMaxX brought a ‘House’ feel 2 “Love Lockdown” and it’s definitely a version of the track that should be bumpin’ @ ur parties! Down below, the latest from the boy Consequence, T-Pain & Luda, MJB, Leona Lewis (damn, she can sing..), & MORE, including the alternate version of the video for Ryan Leslie’s “Addiction”. No Cassie again.. (ugh, R-Les did u lose her number or somethin??) but it’s all good cuz I like this version of the video better w/ a cool inside look at the genius R-Les in the studio. MUST-SEE for all u R&B fans.. “Addiction” has gotta catch some air time. Don’t forget to VOTE FOR US ABOVE! Enjoy!
***ATLANTIC wants all Paper Trail DL links taken down.. Sry.***
Down below, a few more hip hop trax for ya ears as well as an official RMX of John Legend’s “Green Light” that I saw in the iTunes Store this week. But ehhh, not really feelin’ it.. the original is much better! And finally Consequence comes thru w/ the latest from his video library, on the set of Q-Tips upcoming music video for “Move”! (Had 2 MediaFire the trax again cuz zShare was givin’ me fits yet again..) Enjoy!
Producer: Kanye West? - FULL, CDQ?, 1st single off upcoming album, 808’s & Heartbreak *Tibs Fav.™
Loading …
‘Ye just released the CDQ version on his blog and on 1st listen… I think I’m feelin’ the live performance more. There’s times where Kanye doesn’t hit the notes right.. but anyway, DL it now! (Extended review 2 come..)
Updated Extended Review:
“Love Lockdown” delivers what all Kanye West fans should expect - a fresh, boundary-pushing 1st single, a la “Stronger” last year, in terms of impact. Production wise, there are elements in “Love Lockdown” that I feel have not been heard like this before, which really makes the song unique. The ominous “dum dum dum, dum” bass line 2 begin and end the track really sets the mood for the song and it is simple, yet effective throughout. Add in the high-pitched clicks and bangs of the bongos and other percussion instruments in the chorus and it is a very well-produced track that changes throughout its entirety and especially toward the end. Lyrically, Kanye is on point about describing his internal struggles with love and sings them with emotion. Gotta give him credit as the passion is certainly on paper and on the mic, yet I do feel that the quality of his singing is really exposed on this track, specifically in the chorus. Right when he starts, “So keep your love lockdown..”, the quality of his voice really plummets, especially when he hits the “love lockdown”. I think he had a desired effect in mind, but it didn’t really work for me as I feel it was not executed to its fullest. As suggested by “Non” in Jabbify (get chatting people! :D), the chorus could really be cleaned up (the main reason why I like the LIVE version better than the studio), which caused Max G. to think that this was not even the CDQ version when I talked to him. And who knows? Maybe it is a rough version. Non also suggested that someone else jump on the chorus and I will throw out a name who I think would kill this - John Legend! Yes, he is one of my favorites, but this is the type of beat, with piano on the chorus as well, that his soulful voice would enhance. Not to mention the topic of love as well; a topic that is certainly not a stranger to the R&B genre that John Legend represents. Overall, I like the track, but it could definitely be better and I do not think it will ever come close to my top ten Kanye West songs. I really respect that Kanye is branching out and growing as an artist - trying out new styles and production, but this track is not all the way there for me. I wish he rapped - his two best musical strengths are production and rapping. Singing is a distant 3rd. It will certainly blow up on the radio, but I really hope that the rest of the album does not have this much autotune. Check out my editorial from earlier this week for more thoughts on that!
I’ll put up some more content and update it here within the hour.. keep it locked! I’ll actually need some more time on that
Here it is (bout 10PM CT)… NEW Trax-N-Vids.. just peep them below (especially the comic book sayings in the Luda premiere.. my favorite funny one is @ 4:12..). Also… it’s Naledge’s birthday 2day (hence the track) and our M.I.A. 3rd blogger, gowhere?’s bday 2day as well! Happy bday all around! Enjoy!
Comin’ thru w/ more NEW trax-n-vids for ya ears, starting w/ a club banger by Usher that will def play nicely in your speakers. I love how Usher changes how and when he hits the high notes throughout. Def worth the DL and jhear for yourself; has growing potential for me so we’ll see. Down below, some hip hop featuring Young Jeezy, Paul Wall & Akon (hot, club beat — shouts 2 Bfochs!), and Blu from Blu & Exile! The videos are worth peepin’ as well with live performance footage featuring Common, Pharrell, Kanye West, & Consequence! Hard 2 tell if I really like the NEW song from Common and Pharrell in that video, but the performance is definitely high energy. Also, our boy Bullet passed along a video of a talented asian dancer who got his groove on 2 Bullet’s single, “Earth Girls”! Definitely another sign that Bullet’s music is blowin’ up so congrats 2 our boy. Enjoy!
Wow, all day I was expecting the CDQ version of “Love Lockdown” but it didn’t surface on iTunes or anywhere. I’m optimistic it’ll be out 2morrow (Tuesday) as Tuesdays are usually new release day anyway. So we’ll see, but in the meantime, there’s plenty of music in this post 2 keep ya busy, starting w/ a couple hot NEW trax from The Cool Kids. “Dreamin’” stands out especially b/c it’s a fresh beat, even for the hip hop duo who always come w/ a unique sound, but also b/c of the lyrics. They come thru w/ a story, especially on the masterful 2nd verse, and I love songs that do that (Lupe’s “Hip Hop Saved My Life” is my all-time favorite storytelling song). Add a captivating sample for a hook that matches the song’s beat and content perfectly and it equals a song that I’ll be playin’ on my iTunes for some time 2 come. Big ups 2 The Morning Tilt & Trolley Stop Entertainment!
There’s another big update below as trax from big names like Ne-Yo, Estelle, & Mrs. Carter can be had as well as a bunch of R&B. Good 2 see Casely w/ a 2nd straight track w/ a well-known producer (Danja the other one), but I’m not totally feelin’ it just yet. There’s also some vids 2 peep including the latest from Cons, Lupe’s very limited air time @ the MTV VMAs last nite, and a lil’ interview w/ Young Jeezy! Enjoy!
