PSA Announcement f/ Usher, Will.I.Am., & a TON of Celebs (Jonah Hill is HILARIOUS)
Politics get the top spot in this post 2day as Obama graces the next cover of Vibe, but what’s really important is what follows: the Public Service Announcement from various major celebrities and musicians (Usher & Will.I.Am.) as they effectively convey how important this election is for our generation and how time is running out to register to vote! I recently jumped on board as well and will be voting in Minnesota so I can attest to the fact that it is real easy to register to vote. In fact, I did so while waiting on my roommate who was in the shower, haha. So watch the video, get more inspired, and if you are an Obama supporter, get more psyched by the STRONG words our boy Lupe Fiasco had to say about the election just the other night:
“A vote for Barack is a vote for the future, a vote for McCain is a vote for the past,” said Fiasco. He added, “Ladies and gentlemen, the most important vote is the vote for yourselves.” At this point, Lupe’s sunglasses came off and the performance became a bit more personal.
Near the end of the show, Fiasco performed what is arguably his most famous single, “Superstar.” He then entered into a lengthy dialogue with the crowd, imploring them up from the apathetic daydream that seems to be characteristic of much of our generation: “If we don’t wake up now, ladies and gentlemen, there might not be a tomorrow to wake up to. Wake up!”
That’s real passionate and just on point. Obama personifies change, and change is something this country needs for it to better itself and better our status around the world. Period.

Some NEW hip hop and R&B for ya ears with The Game headlining this post, comin’ thru w/ a deep, lyrical slow jam (hip hop slow jam.. not R&B slow jam, haha.) Definitely some thought-provoking lines in there, and of course the prerequisite double digit name-drops in the track, but at least it comes off more clever than annoying in this case. Down below, some T.I. trax that I didn’t really dig, esp the RMXs where I felt Trina, Foxy Brown, & Rick Ross didn’t add anything 2 the respective trax. And finally, R&B fans will enjoy the latest from Johnta Austin & Israel! I’m feelin’ “Killing Me” a lil’ more from the Filipino singer (represent!). Oh, and I didn’t forget… Luda said in the conference call last week that the video for “Undisputed” would drop this week and there it is @ the bottom! Def lookin’ forward 2 Theatre Of The Mind in November, but I think fellow ATLien T.I. will more than hold me over w/ Paper Trail, which I’m waking up early for 2morrow! Jyea! Enjoy!

Big ups 2 lupEND for sending this thru - a Lupe Fiasco feature that is supposedly new (I don’t have it at least). But don’t get fooled, this is a song where Bishop G shines… u should know Bishop G destroying “Little Weapon” on Lupe Fiasco’s The Cool.. FNF UP! But Lupe does nothing else than provide a real nice hook, while Bishop kills it w/ the clarity that made me like him a lot in the first place, even cleverly referencing my favorite team in any sport - Chicago Cubs and Michael Jordan’s gambling controversy from about 15 years ago. Damn. Sweet track from another Chicago rapper that ya’ll shouldn’t sleep on. Down below some more solid trax w/ Big Boi comin’ thru on a unique, hard track called “Dubbz”, Nappy Roots RMXing that catchy tune “Good Day” w/ a Barack Obama flair (shouts 2 2dope).. I really like Robin Thicke’s 2nd single, slow jam w/ lyrics that’ll speak 2 any fan of R&B. Ciara and Missy Elliott come through with “1, 2 Step 2008″ “Work”, a catchy Danja-produced track and Paula DeAnda comes thru w/ a song that I like called “I Was Ready”. Some more quick hip hop for ya eyes & ears before I head off 2 work… with the latest video premiere featuring the talented Alfamega & the king of da south - T.I. above! And below, some hard trax by The Game, Ice Cube, & Young Dro! I’m not that into any of them truthfully, with the Young Dro track actually having a catchy hook. The hip hop fans who like the hard sound will certainly enjoy The Game & Ice Cube’s trax. Enjoy!

Some serious heat in this post with a handful of sweet trax, starting with 2 of the game’s heavyweights collaborating (no pun intended) - The Game & Lil’ Wayne! Normally I’m ‘ehhh’ on both these rappers but they came 2gether for a slower, more conscious track for this one. Wayne is a lil’ annoying on the chorus, but The Game’s verses are all on point and were a fresh reminder of why I bumped The Documentary so much. Down below, Redman comes through with a sweet freestyle over Jay-Z’s “Show Me What Ya Got” and Young Chris & Wale collaborate for a real fresh tune as well. The one thing they have in common, besides being a *Tibs Fav.™, is references to one of my favorite movies - Beverly Hills Cop! Haha, not everyday u see one track with a reference 2 the Eddie Murphy film, let alone 2. And there are also some real dope name-drops with The Rock in the Young Chris / Wale collabo and CP3, aka Chris Paul, in The Game / Lil’ Wayne collabo. Finally, I’m really feelin’ “Perfect Gentleman” by Avant f/ Alfamega, which has a vibe similar 2 the Avant / Lloyd Banks collabo “Exclusive” that I really liked. Enjoy some NEW T.I., albeit in radio rip form, the quality of the track is still solid and if u can successfully ignore the DJ drops, you’ll see that the song is immediately catchy and is sure 2 be a solid banger off the upcoming album, Paper Trail! Also below is an even harder banger from producer Nitti by Alfamega w/ some help from the producer and the man above, T.I.! I’m not really high on these types of trax all the time but this one I like, which likely means those who are into those types of trax will definitely like it, haha. And finally, DL a short, 1:30ish track that I think will be the intro for Nas’ upcoming album, Untitled, and the end lil’ verse by Nas is straight up chilling. The lyrics are, as u should expect, on point as he drops the gloves and fires back at some criticism. This lil’ track gets me even more hyped for the album! Just throw on “Hero” after the track ends and boom, ur all set! Enjoy!

The top one, “You Ain’t Ready” is another classic, foul-mouth pump up banger from T.I.P. and “Life Of The Party”, as u might be able 2 tell, is a more laid-back T.I. flowin’ as usual with R. Kelly droppin’ his own verse. Both are pretty nice so u should DL them above and check out some more updates below with NEW Trax-N-Vids f/ Lil’ Wayne, Busta Rhymes, Chris Brown, & MORE!
