Apparently, no one got the memo that this was International Artist No-Show Week, and Daft Punk made that clear by cancelling their highly-anticipated appearance on The Colbert Report at the last minute yesterday. Not one to take things sitting down, Colbert informed his viewers of the snafu in a hilarious segment on his show that probably made some execs at MTV very mad.
The cancellation was due to Daft Punks apparent contractual obligation to appear on the VMAs later this week, and not make any prior television appearances. Daft Punk's managers claim they did not know of this until the day before filming, and did not choose to really do anything about it other than leave Colbert high and dry. Seems like he still made the best of things, though. He always does.
