V.o.N. "Headlines Freestyle"

There have already been plenty of “Headlines” freestyles to show up on Gowhere in the past couple weeks, but this one is different. These lyrics and rhymes are V.o.N.’s statement, his statement to his city and to the people who are not paying attention. Peep his words below and listen to them on the freestyle above!

Over the past few years, Chicago artists (myself included) have been overlooked by major labels, magazines, blogs etc. Chicago has some of the hottest rappers, but nobody would ever know it. XXL does a yearly "Freshmen Cover" in which they list the "hottest freshmen rappers" of that year. The point of my freestyle was in no way to "diss" any of the artists that have been put on the cover, in fact I'm a big fan of most of them (J.Cole, Big K.R.I.T., Yelawolf, Etc). But where is Chicago at? We need an emcee on that cover just to open the door for other Chicago rappers. I just so happened to volunteer myself for the job.
