Boy, am I glad I stumbled upon some Pretty Lights tonight. I remember there being a lot of buzz here in Chicago for the group's NYE show at the Congress Theater and just this past weekend, they released some super dope visuals from the show (above), set to their fantastic remix of "All Of The Lights". For those new to the group like myself, it is basically one musician/producer, joined by a drummer in a live setting and they hail from Denver to bring us some cutting-edge, electronica party music - whether it is the remixes spotlighted in this post or their original material found at prettylightsmusic.com. You can also get a feel for their live show in the video, which rather appropriately features... wait for it... pretty lights. The experience looks crazy, so see for yourself and check out their "All Of The Lights RMX" above.
But that's not all! At their New Year's Eve show, Pretty Lights also remixed the classic Chicago Bulls Intro music: Alan Parsons Project's "Eye In The Sky". Funny cause I was just thinkin' the other day: it would be so dope if someone sampled the Bulls intro music and made a Chicago rap anthem out of it... If executed properly, it becomes a local smash hit with potential for more. While I keep a close eye out on our inbox in the next couple weeks... I have Pretty Lights' remix that will surely hold me over; they don't rap over it, but they do flip the instrumental very nicely for a modern-day feel. Download below and hear for yourself. And for ole times sake, relive a chilling Chicago Bulls intro from the '97 Finals below as well. (..And now to begin my YouTube binge of classic Bulls highlights...) Enjoy!
