Good to hear some new music from Nizm as the Chicago emcee puts down some new thoughtful lyrics and storytelling in what he calls "PTSD". The latter element of storytelling is especially powerful in the last two verses, which drives home the record's dedication to the soldiers coming home and suffering from post traumatic stress disorder. It is not only directly for them but also sheds awareness on the overlooked reality. The Chicago emcee also tabs frequent collaborator Tim Jonz for a dope beat with a sample that I think everyone loves acting as the chorus, enhanced by some marching drums that are really on point. And really, everything is on point about this one - some good, thoughtful, and positive hip hop comin' from right here in our hometown. An easy *Tibs Fav.™ and a must-download above that you will find on Nizm's upcoming EP, A Rapper & A Drummer: Pictures From Words.
