If you've been following the site diligently for the past few weeks, you've undoubtedly noticed the unique song previews and creative mockumentary from Nikki Lynette, all leading to today's release of her new mixtape, Roses N’ Guns 2: The BADDER ASSED Mixtape That Rocks. RNG2, for short, lives up to its title in that it's simply put, a mixtape that rocks. 'The Other Nikki', as she has called herself recently, does just that with a lot of elements of rock both sonically and vocally, most recently seen on her remake of "The Beautiful People". Furthermore, the mixtape boasts features like Dwele and Krayzie Bone that match Nikki's soulful versatility. In fact, Nikki sings and raps with a mix of powerful words, fast and slow delivery, and even a dose of humor as seen from the intro track that makes you laugh at first and then grabs your attention with a break-neck story of her last 10 months. From then on, you'll likely be hooked all the way through my early favorite and what turns out to be the tape's conclusion: "Crossroads" featuring the aforementioned Krayzie Bone, released just yesterday.
