Kids These Days is a fresh band comin' out of Chicago, fusing hip hop, soul, and jazz and led by a rapper on the come-up in the scene here: Vic Mensa. Above, they drop the visual to the song "Darling" - a catchy record that personifies the above words on the band's fusion. Vic has his fair share of dope lines throughout his couple verses, but it is just a mere appetizer of what he can do, based off the Straight Up EP from the summer. I can see how people may knock on his delivery though (the YouTube comments suggest Drake-esque), but I would rather see more unique transitions or tone changes between lines. I like the contrast though between the rapping and singing; plus my inner jazz fan was happy to hear the horn section so dominant throughout the song. Get the visuals on the whole band above and be on the lookout for more to come from them in the very near future, I'm sure.
Down below, listen and watch two handfuls of tracks/vids as some new Nas (shouts 2 DDot), Game, and Rick Ross headline the downloads and Drake and Lil' Wayne headline the videos. One more batch of downloads on the way soon, so keep it locked for that and much more comin' today. Enjoy!
