concept begins from working hard and aspiring to become the best, to then becoming
the best and experiencing fame's double edge sword of good and evil.
Examining this duality thrusts S-Preme and ourselves down personal
alchemical transformation. In this mixtape you get through 6 of the 7
steps to personal transformation or what S-Preme described as "seeing
the truth in yourself" as the twist by the end.
doesn't only deserve acclaim for its cinematic storytelling, but also
because it's more like an album than a mixtape with only two
non-original beats, coincidentally 2 Drake records that were used for
"Glass Ceiling" and "Still Fly". S-Preme used
his golden ear to gather some of the best beats from some of the best
underground producers today. Features include Mr. Music,
Krewella, Amanda Diva, and Esso. And the production was off the board
with established talent like Soundtrakk (Lupe Fiasco's in-house
producer), Charles Hamilton, Mr. Music, Blublockr of
Krewella, Woody's Produce and a host more. The overall experience was
as each song evoked a unique existential mood. The journey
through these different experiences is what made me really feel the
transformation in my chest. To truly give it justice, I'm going to
provide a track-by-track commentary review from beginning to end on the genius behind the Sicktape Volume Two later in the day. Follow @spreme and let him know what you think of the #sicktape2! Whatever you do though, put a mask on because you might get sick! Enjoy!
