Curtis Santiago first grabbed my attention with his infectious feature on the recent Mickey Factz single "Need For Speed". Since then, I've done my research. Santiago is an indie soul/pop singer outta Alberta, Canada and his original style channels some of his major influences from Sam Cooke to Prince to OutKast. He proved he can do his thing on the solo tip with the above single, "Primal". I'm captivated right off the bat from the unique vocals and strange lyrics. This song in particular will appeal to the club/pop crowd but Santiago's stylings appeal to a wide audience in general. His FREE mixtape, Have Mercy (presented by: Mick Boogie), is available at his website curtissantiago.com so definitely check that out to further see what I mean.
Down below, the downloads keep coming with an absurd amount of tracks featuring big names and local artists alike. First, the latter. B. Howard, you may remember was featured earlier this week for his debut video "Super Model", has a new R&B record called "Now That I'm Here", which is an easy, good listen. Esohel and Chris Shields' new joints cover the Chicago hip hop in this update before a series of big names featured on the Lime Lights Exclusives compilation mixtape (shouts 2 YMHD) take over. There aren't a lot of favs down below (only B. Howard, J. Cole, and Joe's new, midtempo version of "E.R.") but there are a lot of borderline favs. They are the songs by Fabolous, Nelly's new single, Mike Posner's new album jam, N.O.R.E.'s Scoop DeVille-produced record, and Pretty Ricky's new single. Ipso facto... there's a lot to check out below. Browse 'em all below and download! Enjoy!
