I don't think that was a shot at Favre as Common was probably talking about Favre's forward pass (football.. not Jenn Sterger.. haha, get it?), but couldn't the line also be construed as poking fun at the recent Favre allegations? OK, maybe a stretch but whatever the case, the comments in that link that do poke fun at Favre are quite hilarious. And whatever the case, that is only one small part of a dope freestyle from Common andVado, Big Sean, and Donnis who follow fast in that order from last night's Diesel concert in NYC. What also helps make this a dope viewing: The Rapture, who sets the backdrop for the emcees to rhyme over. Hopefully, some slightly better quality will surface from the hundreds of camera people you can see in front of the stage, but this footage that came out will more than suffice. More performance footage is over at our homie Nigel's spot, RTNY.
Down below, the moving visuals continue, starting with DJ Premier talkin' Guru at the 2010 BET Hip Hop Awards (very fitting). A trio of new music videos follows as Chicago's Voyce G.I. Go's "Get It" produced and directed by Arlo (of Trailblazerz MPC), Consequence's collab with Maino, and Rihanna's "Only Girl" can all be seen down under (shouts 2 YAF). And finally, on a semi-light hearted note, Gilbert Arenas somewhat humorously shrugs off questions about how he faked an injury so his teammate can start a preseason game in his spot, which led to a well-deserved fine for undermining the coach. The music significance? The Wizards-affiliated blog chose music from D.C.'s own (and longtime GWHH fan favorite) The Five One for the intro/outro. Good look fellas - maybe next time you can get associated with the new face of D.C. hoops, John Wall? Also, bonus links below! They contain real interesting interviews. Enjoy!
