Today I would like to wish a very special happy birthday to the only and only… Whitney Houston. The legendary diva would have been celebrating her 50th today. Houston, as you should know, was a remarkable talent. She possessed a voice that could literally send chills down spines with little to no effort. Houston had a voice like thunder matched with the lungpower of 6 men. Houston had the voice that many singers today train for years to “try” and develop only to fall short.
In memory of Whitney I would like to showcase one of her best talents… covering other artist songs. Houston was an extremely gifted and brilliant interpreter of music. She could pretty much make any song her own, which is surprisingly very hard to do. What most people don’t know is some of Whitney Houston’s biggest songs weren’t actually hers. So today I would like to list a few of her best cover songs with you guys.
"Saving All My Love For You"
"I Will Always Love You"
"All The Man That I Need"
"Greatest Love Of All"
"I Believe In You And Me"
"I'm Every Woman"
Wasn’t that just a fun trip down memory lane? I bet most of you wasn’t expecting “Saving All My Love For You” to be a cover huh? Houston was just that talented of a singer! As a bones check out Whitney Houston on the set of SNL rehearing “Sweet Thing.”
