So Drake might not move a million records first week, but who cares? The voice of the millennial generation will once again top his pervious work. Drake is set to debut next week on Billboard 200 with sales on track for 675-725,000 copies, according to HITS Daily Double.
Nothing Was The Same is the second biggest debut of the year. Justin Timberlake’s album, The 20/20 Experience, debuted on the charts back in March with sales of 968,000. This makes Drake’s third number one album and the best first week opening sales of his career.
Congratulations to Drake because this is great for not only hip-hop, but also urban music in general. Nothing Was The Same has received very favorable reviews from critics and fans alike. Nothing Was The Same and Magna Carta… Holy Grail are hands down two of the best albums of the year.
