Team Breezy it’s time to rejoice again, as Chris Brown has officially set a new release date for his upcoming album, X. If you can remember X was originally suppose to drop back in July, but due to some behind the sense issues the project was pushed back to TBA status. But that’s neither here nor there because X will be hitting retail stores November 19th. X, which features singles “Fine China” and “Don’t Think They Know” is the follow up to Fortune, which didn’t do so well…
Chris has already revealed that we should expect to hear collaborations from Kelly Rowland, Wiz Khalifa, Rihanna, Brandy, and Kendrick Lamar. X will also feature production from Pharrell, Polow Da Don, Timbaland, Danja, Diplo, and Drumma Boy.
Not to long ago Chris spoke with Rolling Stone on the sound of X, which he says, "I tried to stay away from the Euro beats, and not go totally pop," Brown notes. "Instead, I wanted to take the Quincy Jones approach. The record pays homage to the Stevie Wonders, the Michael Jacksons, the Sam Cookes: I wanted to put that classic essence of R&B and soul with the new age of music now. There's a lot of live instruments, and a lot less Auto-Tune. I really wanted to demonstrate my vocal ability, creating the vibe of me singing along with a band."
This is really great news to hear! I really want Chris to win this era. I think him leaving behind the typical euro beat sound is a step in the right direction. At the end of the day Chris has the prefect voice for pop music, which would explain why he is so easily compared to Michael who also had the voice for that genre. I can’t wait to hear this album because the description of the sound he is explaining is exactly what I want to hear from him.
