The August issue of Dazed & Confused Magazine, dedicated to emerging musicians, actors, photographers, models, and artists born in 1993, is set to feature Chicago's own Chance The Rapper on the cover. The issue focuses on the transition of this group out of their teenage years and into the global spotlight, by means of the culture of technology that has come to define their generation.
Chance's appearance on the cover serves as proof of this. Without a major-label deal or large PR budget, his mixtape Acid Rap was downloaded 50,000 times within 24 hours of its release, eventually landing him in the No. 26 spot on the Billboard Hitseekers chart despite being released as a free download. These accomplishments are due, in no small part, to his strong social media presence.
