As promised, here's the new single from 50 featuring Dr. Dre & Alicia Keys. You're probably pressing play out of sheer curiosity so as you stream it above, here's some first impressions. I'm rockin' with "New Day". Dre's guest verse comes first and picks up as he gets settled. Then 50's two verses was the 50 Cent that I've been wanting to hear. His last verse especially comes from the soul and adds to the motivational motif of the record. Alicia's chorus is solid and overall motivational as well. It's her 'Hey hey hey hey hey' chant that is chopped up that adds to the energy of the tail end of the verses. Very well done on the production there. Oh, and that intro features a nice clip from Robert DeNiro in Being Flynn CORRECTION: A Bronx Tale, which I am now interested in seeing. I'm going to add "New Day" to my roto and it does just enough to earn *Tibs Fav.™ status for me. With more listens, I expect to vibe with this one even more. What do you all think?
