Yup, the names together raised some eyebrows when the tracklist for Strange Clouds was revealed last week and perhaps again at the final product, which can now be heard above. B.o.B & Taylor Swift combine for this hip hop/country collab, that thankfully doesn't have that heavy of a country influence. In fact, it has that mainstream pop to the sound (the minimalist production is especially quality during B.o.B's verses) and of course you got Swift hitting the right chords on a relatable chorus. The song wouldn't be complete however if B.o.B didn't rap some quality verses... and quality verses he does indeed rap. I like that he openly wonders about caring too much about we act and look and how he closes things off with a motivational few lines for the underdogs - him being one himself. I gave this a couple spins and can't knock this collab. "Both Of Us" is a unique mix of sounds and styles and a quality song that doesn't stray too much toward cliche. I see this being pushed as a single on Strange Clouds that will really do some damage in the mainstream airwaves, TV sets, and the like - to the point that it will be the most successful one of the songs off the album we've heard thus far. I'm tabbing "Both Of Us" as a *Tibs Fav.™ and certainly suggest it to you to listen, at least for curiosity's sake above. What do you think?!
