"Otis" above. And a flurry of the rest of the night's performances after the jump (updates coming as the videos hit the interwebs). (shouts 2 yardie).
UPDATE: Updated through Lil Wayne's finale, which set an unofficial VMA record for autotuned notes + bleep outs combined. Plus, he violated the unwritten rule of strumming a guitar for a minimum of one minute before smashing it. Not too many lowlights otherwise (well, save for Gaga creeping me out). Highlights? Kanye & Jay had some with their energetic performance of "Otis" above. Best lighting effects goes to the "Give Me Everything" performance (the way the cameras captured it, at times, it looked like they were on a neon green lighted platform). Best use of pulleys goes to Chris Brown. Best 'Whoa! That girl can sing!' is a tie between Adele & Jesse J. And best family moment goes to Beyoncé rubbing her tummy after her performance as Kanye & Jay reenacted the "Otis" video.
