My man GY312 sat down with Theophilus London for Gowhere Hip Hop at the Double Door this past Sunday to talk about his first album Timez Are Weird These Days and more. Here’s what GY had to add:

“I enjoyed chopping it up with Theophilus. Behind the shades and swag lies a very introspective, thoughtful dude who enjoys sex and inspiring people. Hey, thats what he told me. What’s wrong with that? lol. Although, I can appreciate the euro swag also ha! Dude reminds me of one of my african cousins that actually lives in London lol. The coolest moment for me was when he spoke on going by the studio to hear Hov and Ye’s Watch the Throne album. Of course I had to ask him what he thought about it. The best part about his soundbite is that 3 days after our interview, Jay and Ye dropped dropped “Otis”!!! I kinda get what London is talking about.”

London’s style, unique flow and forceful beats combined with that smooth 80′s feel put him at the tip top of my list artists, especially in this Bieber age we live in. Theophilus London has arrived, and if I was an up-and-coming artist competing for the ears of our generation, I’d be on my toes and watch my back because his music is probably better than yours. Light years ahead. I’ve been a huge fan of Theophilus since I first heard I Want You, so there was no doubt that I was going to buy (yes, BUY) his album. Now, after a few listens front to back, I can’t wait for his next album to drop. So.
