Last night Big Boi drove into Chicago to party at Tesla Motors, and give toast to the Crown Life! The night was poppin' with what seemed like the whole Chicago scene enjoying themselves to good music, food, and drinks. We were on hand to chop it up with Big Boi prior to his Tesla test drive, where Sgt. Tibs asked him a few questions about what his 'Crown Life' was. Big Boi also mentioned that after teaming up with Crown Royal; they had him put a redesign spin on their signature bag, which hasn't ever been changed in a 100 years. It was cool to see in person as they sowed the new design in a machine in front of you, and passed them out to everyone.
Last but not least Big Boi dropped some info on what he's been up to in the studio as of late. He ends up name dropping his collaboration with Modest Mouse/Chris Carmouche, already completing production for three records off their upcoming album; as well as doing production for legendary reggae artist Jimmy Cliff. He's also been hard at work on his new album Daddy Fat Saxxx since November so that should be out soon! Not to mention his group is doing well with the recent mixtape release from Vonnegut, and more on the way from his daughter Gabby Ray with the new label 'Purple Kids'. Check out some of our photos below of the night (courtesy of Flikk Thornton), and big shout out to Big Boi, Crown Royal, Brandon Byrd (of 360Live), XXL, Tesla Motors Chicago, and Fiji for sponsoring the event with us — was a blast!
